Reclaiming My Broken Luna

Chapter 201: Little Boy

Astrid's POV

Ever since Beta Alek came back, my life has become peaceful and easy lately. All my jobs as the acting Beta was passed back to Beta Alek now that he's back to take his position. For three years, I've been wishing to have an easy life where I don't have to deal with any problems and have the freedom to do what I want.

Now that I have what I want, why do I miss the time when I was busy worrying and thinking about work again?

"Here you are," Daphne's familiar voice sounded behind me.

I didn't bother to turn around. I knew it was her. Daphne is the only close friend that I had in the Shadowfang Pack. Aside from her, no one would bother to come looking for me here. "What's wrong?" Daphne asked as she stood beside me. "Thinking of Alpha Drystan again?"

I scoffed when I heard her question. Every time that I'm alone or deep in my thoughts, she always suspects that it has something to do with Drystan.

She is really so convinced that I have feelings for Drystan. "What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be in practice? Do you want me to report to Beta Alek that you're out here slacking during practice?"

"Okay, fine... Why do you have to be so serious? I was just asking you a question," Daphne frowned at me.

"If you have nothing else better to do, you should go back and practice," I muttered as I turned around to leave since Daphen already ruined my moment of silence.

"W-wait!" Daphne grabbed me by the arm, stopping me. "Why are you in such a hurry? Don't you know that I left practice to meet you? I just miss you. I've never seen you ever since Beta Alek took place on your job."

I sighed as I pulled Daphne's tight grip away from my arm. Daphne took a step back when she realized her mistake.

"I'm sorry for being rude, princess," Daphne held her hands together and bowed her head.

My eyes went wide as I faced her angrily. "Daphne, are you mocking me?!" I snapped at her.

Daphne gasped in surprise as she stood up straight. She didn't expect that I would take her actions differently. "Of course not! Aren't you the princess? I heard some of the invited guests had already arrived in advance. Your identity as a princess will finally be announced tomorrow. You should already get used to this kinds of formalities."

I fell silent at her words. I've also heard that some guests have arrived already. It is also the reason why I'm out here alone in the gazebo. I'm avoiding meeting any guests.

"I know that, but as my friend, you shouldn't be addressing me that way. Do you not see me as your friend?" I questioned her.

I was really offended when she suddenly did that. It felt strange, and it was not right for her to do that because she was my friend.

"I'm sorry, Astrid," Daphne spoke in a soft voice as she lowered her gaze guiltily.

I sighed. "Don't worry about it. Now, go back and join your practice," I answered calmly.

"Oh!" I gasped in surprise when somebody hit me from behind. I turned around and saw a little boy holding his forehead in pain.NôvelDrama.Org owns all content.

I bent my knees and crouched to see if the boy was fine. "Are you alright?" I asked the little kid worriedly.

The boy looked at me with a small frown on his face while covering his forehead with a hand.

I instantly felt bad, even though it was the little boy who bumped into me. I carefully removed his hand and blew on his aching forehead. "Is that much better?" I asked him with a smile.

The boy didn't respond. He just looked at me with a dumbfounded look on his face.

My smile slowly disappeared as I stared at him. I'd never seen him before, but somehow he felt familiar. Suddenly, my heart started beating rapidly out of nowhere. What is this? Who is he?

"What's your name?" I asked him softly.

However, the little kid didn't respond. He just continued staring at me as if something was also bothering his mind.

I smiled at him once again as I

carefully swept his curly, dark brown hair aside. "What? Did your mom

and dad taught you not to speak to strangers?" I asked him softly.

CUMS

My heart twitched lightly as I fixed his wrinkled clothes and arranged his curly hair. I was suddenly reminded of my own son, whom I had never had the chance to meet.

How I wish to lay my eyes on him, touch him, and take care of him. If my son is alive, would he have curly hair like him or straight hair that never needed combing?

If my son was alive, he might have been just like him, running around freely and happily without minding his surroundings.

The little boy's frown slowly softened as I started to feel emotional. I was surprised when he suddenly raised his hand, holding the flower, and gave it to me.

"Is this mine?" I asked him in a soft voice.

He nodded as he handed me a pink rose that he most probably took from our garden.

"Thank you," I muttered as I willingly took the rose from him. He must have sensed the sadness welling inside my heart.

"Ryker! Ryker!" A loud, distressed voice interrupted us. When I looked up, I saw the person who took my child from me.
