Psycho Boss And His Sassy Secretary

Chapter 5

“Are you not going to get the hell out of my way?” His voice disrupts her, and she flinches, realizing that she has been hallucinating. That was what she would’ve done to this bastard, but she doesn’t want to lose her job, at least not now. It’s not that she can’t work somewhere else, but she so much loves this company, and wouldn’t want to leave it.This material belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.

“I’m sorry, Sir,” She bows her head slightly, walking away from him. He glares daggers at her, then rolls his eyes and strides into the elevator.

Taking a deep breath, she closes her eyes and throws her head back trying to control her anger. Nobody would dare try that nonsense with her on normal days, so he should thank his luck that he’s her boss, else, he would’ve had his ill manners to blame.

Finally, she turns and walks away to her office, huffing almost every second. Her phone has been spoilt by that jerk, and as if it wasn’t enough to get her angry, he went ahead to insult her. What kind of a man is he?

“Jerk!” She scoffs angrily and glances at her broken phone before striding to her office. Stepping into the office that’s already crowded with her colleagues, she walks over to her seat and slumps on it, having a deep frown on her face. As much as she wants to punch that bastard in the face, she can’t bring herself to do that to save herself the consequences that accompany it.

“Are you OK, Eve?” Marian asks her worriedly, and she grimaces instead, heaving a deep sigh. Reaching out for her phone that’s now lying on her desk, she turns the screen to face Marian, and she gasps sharply.

“Oh my God, Eve! What happened to your phone? Did someone match on it?” Marian asks unbelievably, taking the phone from her and checking it out.

“All thanks to your boss, Marian. That dude is a bastard. I want to strangle him to death…” She whines angrily, reclining on the chair and throwing her head back while closing her eyes.

“Huh? What did you do to him?” Marian asks stupidly, and she scoffs angrily.

“I didn’t do anything to him and even if I did, why break my phone? That dude is a bastard,” She whines again.

“Come on, Eve…”

“Don’t say anything, please. I know you’re going to take sides with him. He has ruined my day, don’t complicate things for me, please,” She says to her dismissively, and finally takes her attention to her desktop…

The elevator opens once it gets to the fifth floor, and Jayden steps out with Mr. Liam trailing behind as they both head to the conference hall. Just hours ago, Jayden got a call from Mr. Liam that he needs to be at a meeting. It’s not that he wants to be there, but does he have a choice?

Jayden walks elegantly into the conference hall, with Mr. Liam trailing behind him. He was supposed to have been here ten minutes ago, but all thanks to Eve that delayed him. The faces of the men sitting around the long table aren’t looking happy, maybe because they were kept waiting for long, or maybe they have other reasons that could’ve made them have the expression on their faces. Not that the young man cares about how they feel, anyway.

The meeting kicks start afterward…

“We can’t agree to that, Mr. Jayden. We already discussed everything with your dad, and we’ve concluded. I see no reason why we should be talking about this again,” Mr. Leon, the CEO of Leon communication company snaps angrily, slamming his hands on the desk as if to scare him, but he just stares at the man like he’s acting drama. Mr. Leon used to be one of his dad’s business partners and is now his business partner since he’s now the new CEO. If only this man knows who he’s dealing with, then he wouldn’t have made this mistake. Maybe they have forgotten that the deal they had with his dad has no business with him. This is his time, and his rules now stand.

For goodness sake, how could his dad have done business with these men, and agreed to share the income at the rate of sixty and forty percent? Who does that? That’s supposed to be the problem between them and his dad anyways. Since he’s here now, then everything has to be replanned again.

“I don’t care about the agreement you had with my dad. As the new CEO of Turner enterprise, I don’t agree with that…” He pauses and leans on the table and looks at them one after the other.

“And to cut the long story short, I’m not interested in investing in that business again. I’m canceling the contract. Is either you agree to my terms, which is sharing the income at the rate of eighty and twenty percent, or you all pay back the money that my dad invested in this business… to the last dime…” He pauses again, then stands up to his feet and leans over the table.

“I give you all seventy-two hours to provide it. Else… You won’t like what will happen. I’m done here,” And with that, he adjusts his suit and strides out of the hall, while Mr. Liam trails behind him.

Evelyn’s office

“Are you still sad about what happened? Come on, Eve… You can always get another phone, you know? Not that you don’t have money to get it,” Marian says to her, whispering the last part like she’s scared of what will happen if her crazy friend hears her.

After spending the whole day sadly in the office, it’s finally time to go home and have some rest.

“Say that again, and I’ll make sure that I throw you out through the window,” She threatens her, and she quickly holds her lips together with two of her fingers.

“My bad. I’m sorry dear. He was wrong for doing that to my baby girl. I’m so sorry on his behalf. Uhm… Eve… Can you please drop me off at the mall? I need to get some things,” Marian whines at her, and she rolls her eyes while packing up the piles of documents on her desk.

“Sure, I’d also like to visit the mall too,” She replies to her, picking up her handbag.

“Oh, darling thank you so much. You wait here, I’ll go deliver this to Mr. Liam,” Marian says striding to the door.

“Meet me at the parking lot. I will be waiting there,” She yells after Marian, walking out of the office.

Evelyn walks elegantly to the elevator, but her heart skips when she spots Jayden walking in. What the hell is he doing here?

Standing side by side with him, her heart beats rapidly against her chest. As much as she’s angry about what happened, she’s also nervous about being around him. She gulps down nothing nervously, and finally moves her leg to step out of the elevator, but he holds her hand and slams her back against the elevator, hovering over her. Her heart sinks into her stomach.

“Wh… what are you doing?” She stutters nervously, her heart beating rapidly against her chest. Slamming his hand above her head, and trapping her in between his arms, he stares at her like he’ll devour her anytime soon.

She gulps down nothing nervously…
