Chapter 1358 Unexpected Homecoming
Chapter 1358 Unexpected Homecoming
Darren tried his best to escape. If he ever got buried by these earthworms, he would surely die.
It was a good thing that these earthworms only relied on powerful ability to pop up. That meant they
couldn't sustain their speed. They had to keep falling back on the ground every time they shoot up.
This made it easier for Darren to run away from them.
Soon, he was able to put a thousand kilometers between him and the earthworms.
He then landed behind a huge stone.
"Who is it?"
As soon as he landed, a dozen god's senses came at him all at once.
"Is someone here?"
In the blink of an eye, he was at the other side of the stone. There he found a dozen young men and
women gathered together. They all looked tired. Many had their clothes stained with blood.
"It's a human being!"
They all seemed relieved upon seeing Darren.
"Were you also attacked?" Darren asked. He then set Finley and the others down on the ground.
"Cut the crap." It was obvious that everybody was in a sour mood. Nobody was willing to talk.
"Ha-ha." Darren didn't push for a conversation any further.
He remained quiet for a while as he sat down. Suddenly, a question came to his mind. He wondered if
these people had absorbed the godly energy. How else could they possibly be alright?
"What are you waiting for? Your friends will die if you don't save them now."
A young man with a saber in his hand approached Darren.
While it was true that Darren was anxious, he was currently helpless. He tried using his god's power,
but he couldn't remove the yellow sand from his friends' elixir fields. The Assimilating Force was
useless as well since it couldn't enter a living body.
"Could you please give me your advice?" Darren cupped his hands at the young man.
"Get out of my way." The latter gestured for Darren to step aside. He then walked up to Weber and
slashed at him abruptly.
"Hey!" Darren was so startled that he failed to stop the young man from stabbing Weber with the saber.
It arched through the air with a soft swoosh.
Without warning, Weber's elixir field broke.
"What are you waiting for? Where is the pill?"
"What pill?" Darren was confused for a moment. But then, realization finally dawned on him. He
immediately took out a Resuscitation Elixir.
The young man took the elixir and hit Weber's abdomen with a gust of god's power. It forced the yellow
sand out.
Once it spilled out of Weber's abdomen, the sand quickly disintegrated into the air. It was finally gone
from sight.
The young man then put the Resuscitation Elixir inside Weber's mouth. He used his god's power to
melt it.
Darren finally understood how these people survived. It was with the help of the Resuscitation Elixirs.
Weber was still unconscious despite the elixir. It would take two more hours to fully repair his broken
elixir field.
"Thank you very much, my friend. I'm really grateful," Darren said sincerely.
"You can save the others using the same method." The young man simply waved his hand
dismissively.
Darren immediately set off to do just that to Finley.
But when it came down to Lindsay, Sally, and Beatty, he was at a loss. He had already used both his
two Resuscitation Elixirs.
Finley and Weber hadn't woken up yet, so he couldn't get more from their own spatial devices. Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.
That meant leaving Lindsay, Sally, and Beatty to die. Time was running out, and they couldn't wait for
Finley and Weber to wake up.
"Fellow brothers and sisters, I implore that you lend me three Resuscitation Elixirs. I promise to return
them to you as soon as my friends wake up." With no choice left, Darren cupped his hands together
and faced the dozens of people in front of him.
Nobody responded to his request.
Most of them closed their eyes, pretending to be deep into their own healing. Some had even covered
their ears.
"I swear to repay anyone who is kind enough to help me, please!" Darren cupped his hands again.
Still, no one bothered responding to his pleas.
He was starting to feel uncomfortable.
He didn't know what to do.
He was confident that he could give back anyone's Resuscitation Elixirs as soon as Finley and Weber
woke up. However, no one was willing to lend him one. All his words fell on deaf ears.
With no hope left, he turned to the young man once more. "My friend, do you have any more
Resuscitation Elixirs?"
The young man shook his head. "As much as I want to help you, I only had two Resuscitation Elixirs.
One for myself, and the other for someone else I saved a while back. However, that person was killed
by a skeleton in a surprise attack. Otherwise, I could have asked him for a Resuscitation Elixir in return
to save one of your friends. I'm so sorry."
"Alas,"
Darren sighed.
"Darren, can you hear my voice? Answer me!"
Suddenly, an old and weak voice came to Darren's mind.
'Dragon ancestor?' At first, Darren thought it was the dragon ancestor. But upon closer examination,
this voice sounded different.
"It's me."
"I remember now! It's the Primitive Emperor!" It was only then that he remembered that the Primitive
Emperor was still inside his small world.
"Yes, it's me. Can you let me out? I can sense something amazing."
"I'm afraid I can't do that, sir. With your current realm, you'll be torn to pieces by the breeze outside."
Indeed, the old Primitive Emperor wouldn't stand a chance against the Primitive Wilderness, let alone
the Archean relic.
"Don't worry about me. Just let me out! Have you already forgotten that I was born with a trace of the
primitive energy that is related to the Chaotic Age?"
"Ah, you're right." It had finally dawned on Darren how the Primitive Emperor got his name in the first
place. The Archean Age was just a part of the Chaotic Age. It was probably why the Primitive Emperor
could sense it.
Without thinking about it too much, Darren moved Finley and the others to the other side of the huge
stone and released the Primitive Emperor. He needed to get away from these heartless humans.
An old figure began to descend onto the ground.
The Primitive Emperor's eyes were glazed with endless tears.
"Oh, I remember it now. My hometown..." he murmured as the tears now ran freely on his face.
"Sir... What are you doing?" Darren asked in surprise.
"I came from the Archean..." Before the Primitive Emperor could finish his words, yellow godly energy
poured gently onto his body.
The dense godly energy had forced Darren to step back.
This lasted for a short moment before everything settled down once more.
The next thing Darren knew was that the old figure was gone. Now, a middle-aged man stood.
He spread out his arms and waved at the people lying on the ground. Yellow sand streamed out of their
bodies only to be carried away by the wind.
"Your friends are alright now, Darren." The middle-aged man smiled.
Darren was stunned beyond words, but he was deeply overjoyed. He stepped closer to the middle-
aged man and said, "Thank you very much, sir! But what did you mean when you said you came from
the Archean Age?"
Darren found himself unable to wrap his mind around all these.
How could an old man from a mortal world actually come from the Archean Age?
"My memories have finally returned to me as soon as I set foot on this land. I have indeed come from
the Archean Age, an era of cruelty and passion."
"That's amazing," Darren sighed. His emotions brimmed to the fullest. There was nothing else he could
say.
"Sir... Does this mean your strength have finally returned to the level of the Archean human race?"
"Unfortunately, no. My body is already too old to recover that easily. Logically speaking, I'm not as
strong as you. But since this is the Archean land, I have the advantage. Ten of you wouldn't be able to
defeat me here." The Primitive Emperor sounded playful.
Indeed, it was like a fish returning to the water. He was born and raised here in the Archean land. Even
if he couldn't recover his real strength, his combat power wasn't something Darren could belittle.
"Congratulations, sir. This is definitely unexpected!" Darren said sincerely.
"Oh no! They're coming again!" Just then, cries of horror pierced through the air. They were all coming
from the other side of the huge stone.
