Chapter 1350 A Purple-eyed Fiend
Chapter 1350 A Purple-eyed Fiend
Six hours later, Merle finally approached the fiend the Rule Soul Avatar had mentioned. The powerful
guard had lost interest in him and no longer paid him any attention.
"Brat, do you want to rest?"
Merle asked in a low voice.
The fiend, who had taken on the form of a human, lifted his head and looked at Merle.
"What?"
Merle trembled. He looked into the fiend's purple grey eyes, and he suddenly felt a burst of inexplicable
fear rise up from the bottom of his heart.
Merle calmed himself down, but the fiend didn't seem to want to talk to him. Instead, he kept on
digging.
"Brat, didn't you hear me?" Merle asked, his tone more serious and authoritative.
"Get away from me!" the fiend said. His tone was firm, and he did not even lift his head to look at Merle
this time around.
"You!" Merle fought the urge to rush toward the fiend and beat him.
"I'm serious. I can grant you rest. I can even grant you your freedom." Merle tried his best to suppress
his anger.
The fiend paused for a moment, lost in thought.
"Why should I believe you?" he said coldly. Rest and freedom were the only desires of his heart. He
wanted these two things more than anything.
Merle couldn't answer his question. He sought out the Rule Soul Avatar through spiritual sense. "He
doesn't believe me. What should I do?"
"Let a little bit of time pass, and then put your left hand on his shoulder," the Rule Soul Avatar
answered. He sent a wisp of his law force into Merle's body through soul transmission.
Merle stretched out his hand and did as he said.
Swish!
A cold killing intent instantly enveloped Merle. It gripped every part of his body, and he let out a small
gasp.
Merle felt a chill in his heart. He was about to fight back when the killing intent suddenly retreated.
The fiend's unsettling, purple grey eyes were fixed on Merle. He looked at him quizzically.
"What do you want?"
"What?" Merle was dumbstruck.
"What do you want in exchange for my freedom? Surely there should be something in this for you. Why
would you even help me?"
"Wow. You finally believe me." Merle breathed out a sigh of relief.
Seconds ago, the fiend had wanted to kill Merle on the spot. However, something had happened when
Merle touched his shoulder. A strange force had gone into his body and had loosened the shackles on
him by a bit.
"It's very simple. Help us kill that guard," Merle said.
"No, I can't do that. You need to completely remove the shackles on me, first," said the purple-eyed
fiend.
"It's easy. But how am I certain that you won't kill me, too, as soon as I free you from your restraints?"
Merle was not stupid. This powerful fiend could turn against him in an instant.
"You are thinking too much. You will be very useful for me in getting out of this place. Killing you will do
me no good," said the purple-eyed fiend.
"I don't trust you, but you make sense," Merle said coldly.
"So why have you not done anything yet?" the purple-eyed fiend said, his tone stern and commanding.
Merle did not respond to him but spoke to the Rule Soul Avatar telepathically. "He said yes. You need
to free him."
Bang!
Suddenly, a huge force threw Merle to the wall of the mine. He hit his back with a sickening thud, and
his bones cracked with the impact. His blood spattered on the floor.
"Damn it! Who allowed you to speak to him?" the guard roared.
"I'm sorry." Merle struggled to get up. He bowed his head to the guard.
"Your apology is useless. If you speak to him, you will be sentenced to death. Go to hell!" The guard
lifted his steel fork and rushed toward Merle.
Suddenly, a wave of law force surged forward and enveloped the purple-eyed fiend's body.
Boom!
A stream of purple energy burst out from the purple-eyed fiend's body. The other fiends trembled from
the sheer power that he emanated.
The aura of the purple energy alone was enough to blow the guard away.
"Howl!" the guard roared, terrified out of his wits.
The purple-eyed fiend lifted the shovel in his hand and tossed it out of the pit he was digging.
The shovel landed on the guard's head and crushed it. Bone and flesh splattered on the ground as the
guard collapsed.
Merle couldn't believe his eyes. The fiend was so powerful that he was able to kill a guard with just a
shovel.
Whoosh!
The Rule Soul Avatar flew over to them.
"You are very powerful," he said to the purple-eyed fiend, appraising him coldly.
"As are you." The purple-eyed fiend realized that his shackles were removed by the Rule Soul Avatar
rather than by Merle.
The Rule Soul Avatar did not respond. He released a Resurrection Force to heal Merle's injuries.
"I'm very curious about you. Are you a Defiant Master from the human race?" the purple-eyed fiend
asked. He was already sure that the Rule Soul Avatar was a human, but he didn't know if he was a
Defiant Master. He had heard legends about such beings, and the stories intrigued him.
The Rule Soul Avatar looked at him, his expression neutral. Even though the fiend had figured out that
he was a human, he was unafraid.
"No, I'm not," the Rule Soul Avatar answered.
"If you're not a Defiant Master, how are you so powerful? You obviously have a plan. That's why you're
here, right? You're not even fazed now that I have uncovered your identity. Aren't you afraid that I will
kill you?" The purple-eyed fiend's body was shrouded with purple fiendish aura. He tried to get a rise
out of the Rule Soul Avatar, but the latter still stood by, still and expressionless.
The Rule Soul Avatar had predicted that once he used a special method, his identity as a human would
be discovered by the purple-eyed fiend.
"You have to rely on me if you want to get out of here."
"Not necessarily. My shackles have been removed, so I can get out by myself," the purple-eyed fiend
sneered.
The Rule Soul Avatar shook his head indifferently and turned around.
"Merle, announce the rule." The Rule Soul Avatar wanted to occupy this mining area.
"Listen carefully! As long as you hand over the Blood Stones and continue mining for us, you will be
permitted to rest for a few hours each day. If you don't agree to our terms, well...we will have to kill
you!" Merle's loud voice resounded throughout the entire mine.
The fiend miners had been working for thousands of years. They had never taken a break. The
promise of rest was too great for them to pass up.
Besides, the guard was already dead. There was no reason for them to go against Merle.
Soon, all the tens of thousands of miners dropped their tools and pledged their loyalty to Merle and the
Rule Soul Avatar. After thousands of years, they were able to rest.
The Rule Soul Avatar was able to collect ten Blood Stones.
The purple-eyed fiend had been standing in silence the entire time, observing what was happening in
front of him. It was not until he saw that the Rule Soul Avatar had collected all the Blood Stones that he
approached him.
"You seem to be very arrogant,"
the purple-eyed fiend said, coldly. He had never seen anyone more arrogant than himself, let alone one
that was a human.
The Rule Soul Avatar obviously did not fear him. This upset him immensely.
"Cut the crap and get out of here if you want to," Merle bellowed.
He was not afraid of the purple-eyed fiend now, because the fiend was a miner. He assumed that the
Rule Soul Avatar can imprison him once more if he wanted to.
"Ha! I didn't expect that you human beings would be so fearless. I'm impressed." The purple-eyed fiend
burst into laughter.
"Shut up. If you want to get out, do it now. If you don't, we will put your shackles back on you and you
will spend the rest of your life here, toiling away with no rest," Merle shouted.
"Really? I'd like to see you try." The purple-eyed fiend puffed out his chest, undaunted by Merle's
threats.
"Humph!" Merle winked at the Rule Soul Avatar.
"I can't do it,"
the Rule Soul Avatar said.
Merle was dumbfounded, his eyes widening at the Rule Soul Avatar's words.NôvelDrama.Org owns all © content.
