Luke said, "My mother told me when I was young that didn't need to work hard because no matter how hard I worked, my achievements would never surpass that of my parents.

"You know how competitive men can be. The more my family said so, the more motivated I became.

"If my mother hadn't said those things to me, perhaps would have become someone like your idea of a wealthy heir. I would just spend my days eating, drinking, and having fun. I'd probably have fallen in with a bad crowd.

"However, after my mother said those things to me, it made me want to become a better person. You could say that my mother's words drove me to become what I am today."

Linda couldn't help laughing after hearing what Luke had to say.

"I also can't deny that my family helped me to get to this point in life. Without the support of my family, I may not have the achievements I've accomplished. That is why I always think that one's own hard work as well as familial support are both important factors.

-Linda wanted to open her can of coffee, but the ring pull was unusually stiff.

She just had a manicure done.

"I'm sorry. I should have taken care of that just now." Luke took the can of coffee from her, opened it, and handed it back to Linda.

"I brought you here today because I feel that this place brings me comfort and relaxation. I didn't do it to make you

think of bad memories, so don't think too much." He could sense that it had brought up some bad memories for Linda.

She smiled, and her lips were stained with coffee. "No, I've never been a person who wallows in their memories."

Linda felt that those who were always living in their memories were fools.

It wasn't a noble act at all. It seemed brainless to her.

Those who were capable would create a better life than the one in their memories instead of holding on tightly to the memories of what they thought of as a happy life.

"I feel much better to hear that you think that way. I was worried that your mood would drop after I brought you here. That would be an unforgivable crime on my part." Linda snorted with laughter. "Mr. Hunter, do you always exaggerate that much?"

A crime, indeed!

She wasn't as important as that.

The most you could say about her was that she was a woman who had a bit of money.

"Shall I take you to my place for lunch later?" Luke asked.

"If you're going to cook, I'll consider it. If not, then forget it." Linda raised an eyebrow at him.

"Look at your phone. I sent you a program."

Bewildered, she opened the program. It contained a menu.
