Chapter 2375
Chapter 2375
"Sawyer!" I hurried over to help him. "Are you all right? Hold on, I'll take you to the hospital."
As I spoke, I held him up, ready to leave.
But Sawyer was wilful. He pressed a hand on his wound and refused to move. He endured the pain through gritted teeth and glared fiercely at Jordan, "I'm going to kill you! I'm going to kill you, you scum!"
"Kill me?" Jordan closed his eyes for a moment then raised his chin conceitedly and said condescendingly, "How are you supposed to kill me when you can't even judge the quality of a gun?"
"Just shut up!" I yelled furiously. I feared that provoking Sawyer any further would cause him to do something unpredictable.
Sawyer heard the insult and his eyes were immediately filled with discontent and rage. He clenched his jaw and said, "You did something to the gun!" As soon as he finished, I came to a realization and froze.
Indeed, Zuckerburg's guns had always been under regulation. Ordinary people would not have been able to acquire one. Since Sawyer got one, he must have used an illegal method. And these unlawful dealings happened to be Jordan's trade.
Jordan didn't hide it and admitted, "I promised your sister that I wouldn't hurt her family. Your wife's death was an accident. I was keeping tabs on you just to see if there was anything I could do to compensate your family. But you got ahead of yourself. You were delusional in thinking that you could kill me."
"Bah, nobody wants your compensation! You killed Raiya, you killed my wife, I want you dead!" Sawyer roared hysterically.
Though I wanted to point at Jordan's nose and swear at him, I couldn't help but swallow my words when I saw the guards rushing in.
"Sawyer, Sawyer!" I tried my best to straighten his body and forced him to face me. held his face with both of my hands to prevent him from looking at Jordan. I used my loudest voice in an attempt to summon his rationality, "Listen to me. Before Raiya died, she said that she wanted me to take good care of you. The one she worried about the most was you. If something happens to you,
she would have died in vain!"
I burst into tears as I spoke. I thought of how Raiya gave birth alone in the hospital, how she had covered up for Sawyer and how she pretended to be strong in front of me...
When Sawyer heard her name, his
eyes quickly turned red, huge
teardrops rolled down his chiseled face. A moment later, he finally broke down crying like a child, 'Arianna Raiya's dead. Raiya's not here anymore. The day before the incident, she told me that she was lonely at home. She wanted to have more children with me. She was such a great person, I always neglected her. Arianna, I let her down. I was already feeling guilty about Raiya's death, so hearing these words only made it worse. My emotions overwhelmed me all at once, and I silently sobbed.
At this moment, Jordan suddenly reached out and pulled me over. Before I could react, his men collectively took action as Sawyer was knocked out and taken away.
"Sawyer!" I attempted to break free and chase after him, but I couldn't overcome Jordan's strength. I could only scream desperately, all in futility. "Let go of me. Let me go, you b*stard!"
Jordan lost his patience and grabbed my arms with brute force. I was forced to look into his eyes.
"You said that you wouldn't hurt my family. Are you breaking your promise, Jordan?" I obstinately yelled at him. My arms were throbbing from being held so hard, but I refused to cry out in pain.
"Whether I break my promise or not
depends on you," Jordan's eyes darkened in an instant, a wild and unrestrained smile hung on his lips, "I don't like to see you weep, Arianna. If I see him making you cry again, no matter how many lives he has, it won't be enough for him to die!"
"Then you should kill yourself first!"
