My Invincible Husband Has Returned

Chapter 199

Chapter 199

Cheryl didn't waste a second. She was already on the phone, sending someone to tail Celena and Hayes at the factory.

At the factory, Hayes got the heads-up from Celena just thirty minutes before. He called a full stop to the day's work, ordering everyone to the front gates to roll out the red carpet for Celena.

Hayes stood there with the management team and his secretary, all eager anticipation, as they waited for Celena to show.

Celena battled through bus after bus to make it to the factory on time.

Hayes caught sight of her from afar and plastered on his most ingratiating smile. He hustled over and bowed deeply before her. "Ms. Celena Stone, so glad you could make it! I'm truly sorry for any disrespect I showed you yesterday. Please, let's put it behind us. We're all ears for your guidance from here on out!"

The workers behind her raised their voices together, "We're all in with you, Ms. Celena Stone!"

Celena was taken aback. Hayes, who was so hard to deal with just yesterday, was like a changed man.

Clutching the documents to her chest, she turned pale and stammered at Hayes, "Mr. Adams, what's going on?"

Hayes paused, then suddenly bent over in a deep bow before Celena, pleading, "Ms. Celena Stone, I'm begging you to forgive me. I was wrong, I shouldn't have been swayed by Mr. Yafe Stone and the rest. I've cut them off, I swear. From now on, I'm listening to you and you alone. You say go east, and east I go—no questions asked."

Celena was floored, barely able to get her words out, "Mr. Adams, what are you doing?!"Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.

However, Hayes was insistent, "No, no, no, Ms. Celena Stone, I'll stand right here until you say you forgive me."

Eaden warned last night that without Ms. Celena Stone's forgiveness today, he would end up fish food in the river—and his family wouldn't fare any better.

With Hayes's words hanging in the air, Celena reluctantly nodded, "Mr. Adams, I forgive you. Please, stand up."

Hearing that, Hayes stood up, a look of sheer joy on his face, and said, "Ms. Celena Stone, we're all set. The factory's ready for your inspection whenever you are."

Hayes greeted Celena with a warmth that bordered on excessive as if her mere presence for the inspection was a cause for celebration. That was a complete turnaround from his distant demeanor just the day before, and it left her feeling wary.

"Hold on."

With a note of hesitation, Celena eyed the employee at the door, her voice laced with suspicion. "Mr. Adams, what's going on? You've changed your tune since yesterday. Did someone have a word with you? Did they tell you to lend me a hand, and that's why you're-"
