Chapter 1575: Techniques
She took a deep breath and spoke with a hoarse voice, "Okay, let's not talk about our matters now."
After she finished speaking, Camille let go of his hand.
Ayan didn't stop her action; he just stared at her hand that released his, without blinking.Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
The two of them entered the room without any further conversation. Compared to the harmonious atmosphere between Fletcher, Talia, and Talia in the hall, the atmosphere between Ayan and Camille was very awkward.
Fletcher and Talia sensed it and their gazes swept back and forth between the two. They maintained a superficial warmth, but as parents, they couldn't ask much, could they?
Talia patted the seat next to her, inviting Camille to come and sit. She said to Camille, "Cami, let me tell you, we were just worrying too much. They weren't really fighting. It was all an act!"
Talia had just talked to Fletcher, and of course, Fletcher didn't hide anything from her. Talia found it somewhat unbelievable and indeed thought that these two were quite boring. They were both adults, yet they were still so childish.
After Talia finished speaking, Camille was taken aback. She subconsciously glanced at Ayan and realized that he didn't deny it. So what Talia said was true.
He had never mentioned it to her, never revealed any information. Perhaps they had really grown distant from each other?
Camille forced a faint smile and said, "Well, that's good. It's not a real fight then."
Talia complained to Camille about how immature these two were, and Camille played along the whole time.
After chatting for a while, they had dinner. The meal was very harmonious because Talia was there. After eating, Timmy stayed at the Simpson's mansion and didn't need to go back with them. Camille came in a driver's car. If she were to go back, she would have to ride with Ayan. But she didn't want to, at least not for the time being. She didn't want to face him, didn't know what to say.
She needed some time to calm down.
Camille took a deep breath and whispered to Talia, "Mom, I'm afraid Timmy won't be comfortable. I'll stay here tonight and keep him company!"
Talia was momentarily stunned, then instinctively looked at Ayan and noticed his gloomy expression, which had turned extremely unpleasant.
She immediately responded to Camille, "Sure, I'd love that. Then we can have breakfast together tomorrow. I'll have the aunt prepare your favorite shrimp dumplings. Let's have morning tea!" Talia readily agreed, without specifically asking Ayan if he wanted to stay. She wanted to see when Ayan would take the initiative.
But as Ayan's biological mother, she wouldn't deliberately urge him to leave. Instead, she said to Camille, "Cami, let's go upstairs and bathe Timmy. We should rest early too." Talia had traveled by plane and car today, so she was a bit tired.
Camille went upstairs with Talia. Fletcher, who was sipping tea on the side, naturally understood everything. After finishing his tea, he placed the cup on the table and then turned to Ayan with a nonchalant tone, "Aren't you leaving yet?"
Fletcher didn't hold back at all in his words. There was even a hint of mockery in his tone. Fletcher was clearly punishing Ayan for his disrespect in the Simpson Group meeting room during the day, even though it was all an act. But being coldly refuted by Ayan's indifferent tone still made him lose face to some extent.
Fletcher looked at Ayan, his expression revealing a faint and subtle smile. Seeing Ayan not saying anything, his smile deepened. He asked, "Why aren't you speaking? Don't you want to drive? I can have the driver take you back. It's getting late, you should go back early and rest. We need to rest too."
Fletcher had already given him an ultimatum, making it impossible for Ayan to voice his grievances.
Ayan, of course, didn't react to his words. He just lifted his eyelids lightly, glanced at Fletcher, and his gaze seemed to say to Fletcher, "That's enough." Fletcher smiled and said, not jokingly, "Ayan, a man needs to be more generous. Don't hurt a woman, otherwise, your days will be difficult, you know!" This was Fletcher's answer, derived from half a lifetime spent with Talia, and it was the most genuine advice.
Ayan didn't know if he heard or not, anyway, he didn't respond to Fletcher's words. He just got up from the couch and dropped a sentence, "I'm leaving." And then Ayan walked out.
He got into the car, not pursued by reporters, but sat inside in silence.
His face was heavily grim, and his deep eyes appeared icy even in the dimly lit car. He didn't start the engine to leave the Simpson's mansion, just sitting there, not knowing how much time had passed. Upstairs, Talia and Camille finished bathing Timmy, and Timmy went to rest with his aunt.
Camille also returned to Ayan's bedroom, while Talia and Fletcher went back to their room.
Fletcher said to Talia, "They're still in the car, not leaving!"
"They must have had a big disagreement. It seems like neither of them intends to talk about it," sighed Talia, naturally very worried. However, this worry couldn't solve any problems. She said, "What could be going on between them now? Could it be that your son did
something to upset Cami?"
Otherwise, according to Camille's nature, she wouldn't be so cold towards him!
Fletcher, of course, had no idea
about their situation, but since his wife asked, he had to respond. He said, "Probably not. Our son probably doesn't have the guts to do that, otherwise he won't be able to step into the Simpson's mansion in the future."
Talia sighed, still very worried in her heart. She said, "I really hope your son can understand a few things. At this rate, who knows when we'll have a granddaughter to hold?"
Just now, Talia and Camille were talking about this matter. Although they didn't explicitly mention having a second child, the topic of having a daughter came up, and Camille really wanted one.
As long as she had this idea, she must be mentally prepared. But Ayan was too unreliable, actually making Camille angry.
Talia decided not to help Ayan this time. He would have to figure it out on his own. If he couldn't come up with a solution, he would continue suffering like he is now.
In the blink of an eye, it was already eleven o'clock at night.
Ayan's
was still parked in the garage, and Camille didn't know about it. She had finished bathing and was ready to
Because of Ayan's behavior tonight, Camille was annoyed, so to make herself feel better, she sent a message to Sienna and vented her anger at Ayan, and then she felt relieved and prepared to sleep. She didn't have insomnia because she had learned a technique: when going to bed, think about happy things, and you won't have insomnia for sure.
Before she could even think of anything sad or distressing, she had already fallen asleep.
But this night, just as Camille fell
asleep, she vaguely felt someone lifting the blanket and lying beside her. Then they directly pulled her into their arms. Just before her breath was about to be obstructed and suffocated, she instantly opened her eyes and woke up.
In the pitch-black bedroom, she looked at the man who was so close, feeling his breath that belonged to him. She instinctively froze.
She pursed her lips, subconsciously wanting to push the person off her, but as soon as she lifted her hand, Ayan grabbed it tightly in his hand. Camille whispered, "Ayan, what are you doing?"
