Bailey's pov
The next morning Kaleb picks me up. Mira is slouched in the backseat, half asleep. " My brain is fried, so don't mind me that I look like a dead." Mira moaned when I entered.
I giggled, leaning over the counsel to plant a soft kiss on Kaleb's lips seeing him pout when I hadn't yet. He smiled, and pecked me one more time before reluctantly pulling away.
"Ew uh that's nasty," Mira faked gag. " I don't think I'll ever get used to seeing you two sharing pda. I'm getting shivers and it's not the good kind."
I grinned, buckling myself as I teased her. "Then maybe you should finally give Ryan a chance so that way you won't feel like a third wheel anymore."
Kaleb twisted around to stare at his sister. "What does she mean Ryan? Ryan as in my best friend Ryan?" His eyes narrowed on Mira.
I turn around to look at her and cringe when she sent me a glare. Oops.
She sighed, rolling her eyes. "Before you get upset, nothing has happened between us. It's only been flirting and nothing more." Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
Kaleb's eyes widen, and he looked over at me. "How did I not know about this? How am I the last to know these things?"
I smiled awkwardly. "It really wasn't my place to say anything, it actually just slipped. I'm sorry Mira."
She huffed, crossing her arms. "I may have deserved it for the way I acted when you two got together."
Kaleb backed out of the driveway. " I knew some shit was up from the moment I saw the way he looked at you. I shouldn't even be surprised."
"So you're okay with it?" Mira asked nervously. Kaleb spared her a glance through the rearview mirror and shrugged.
"As long as you're happy Mira. I don't get a say in your love life, or who you fall in love with. Ryan is a good guy and I know he'll treat you right. Because if he doesn't he knows what I will do to him."
Mira's eyes drop to her lap as she fumbles with her fingers. "Oh." Her voice was filled with guilt. "I'm sorry I wasn't as understanding for you Kaleb."
Kaleb shrugged. "It's fine. I'm happy you're okay with Bailey and me now though. Because you'll be seeing a lot of us from now on."
Mira scrunched her nose. "Yes. And a lot of PDA."
Kaleb and I laughed, not even going to deny it. We knew that we were not able to stay away from each other. And with every day that goes by, the fire for him keeps burning hotter.
When we arrived at the school, Kaleb got out and jogged around the car to come over to my side to open the door. Mira snorted. "I didn't think you'd have one gentleman bone in your body."
Kaleb grinned, looking so boyish and adorable. "There's a lot you don't know about me when it comes to Bailey, sister."
Mira nose wiggled. "I don't think I want to know."
Kaleb laughed and helped me out of the car then swing his arm over my shoulder. "Forgot to ask how the studying had gone with the wicked witch of the east." Mira said behind us.
My brows furrowed in thought. After Juliet had practically run out of my room, I heard nothing from her afterwards. I figured she was actually sick or something came up.
I didn't want to dwell on her for much because let's face it, I didn't practically want to study with Juliet.
I shrug. "We didn't get to study actually. She left because she said she felt sick." I still had a limp in my walk and knew that Kaleb was just itching to lift me in his arms.
"Really?" Mira hummed. "Weird."
I nodded, agreeing with her.
Yes weird indeed.
Kaleb dropped us off in our class and went to his. We found Kristina already there, eyes on the book on the table before her.
We were the only three here in the classroom.
"Trying to cram in those words before the exam?" Mira snorted.
Kristina lifted her eyes and we are startled when we saw the redness. Was she crying? Was she about to?
"What's wrong?" Both Mira and I asked simultaneously.
Kristina sniffled. " I did something bad." She whispered.
Mira and I go to her quickly, my heart speeding. What could she have done that was so bad to have her like this?
I sat beside her while Mira stood close to her. I reach for her shaky hand, studying the way her eyes filled with tears.
My heart pang. What was wrong?
Kristina took in a shaky breath, her eyes filling with guilt and shame and my heart raced. Mira crouched slightly, her hand on her shoulder. "Kristy," Mira whispered.
"You know you can tell us anything. We're always here for you and we'll figure out whatever this is together." Mira says with honesty, squeezing a trembling Kristina.
I nodded, agreeing with Mira because my tongue is heavy and I am not sure what to say or do.
However Kristina's next words made my heart drop in the pit of my stomach and I am afraid I'd never be able to recover from that.
"I've been lying to you two for months," she croaked out, her voice shaky, her face filled with shame. The tears she held back flowed freely and she sobbed.
My heart ached for her and I squeezed her hand as reassurance to continue and it was okay. With another drawled in shaky breath, Kristina continued. "I think I'm pregnant."
If a pin were to drop right now, we'd be able to hear it. That's how deadly quiet it got as soon as those words pushed out of her lips.
These were the last words we'd ever think to hear from Kristina's mouth. Not only because well, she never mentioned she had a boyfriend or was seeing someone but because Kristina was never irresponsible.
Hell the last time we talked she was still a virgin.
"What?" Mira breathed out, her face showing just how stunned she was.
Kristina nod, the tears flowing harder and faster. "I don't-
She hiccuped, crying a bit louder.
"Who's the dad Kristy?" Mira whispered, rubbing her back.
"I-
She heaved and looked like she was about to throw up. "It, it's Mr Malik."
Both Mira and my eyes widened and we both gasped. "The art teacher?!"
