Chapter 779 Easy to come by

"Nina, are you okay? What happened to you?"

Before Nina could recover from her shock at seeing Harley, Harley walked to her bedside and took her hand in his.

Harley looked at her with concern and was extremely worried; however Nina looked back at him blankly as if Harley was a stranger to her.

Still in a state of concern and worry, Harley tirelessly explained multiple times that filming had finished late and then, when he discovered Nina had not returned home, he searched for her all night.

No matter what he said, Nina remained indifferent..

"Why aren't you talking to me? Why are you acting this way?" Harley asked in confusion.

Nina laughed at his question.He looked so innocent.

If it wasn't for her phone call with Sylvia, she would have foolishly fallen for his act.

"You came to the hospital to find me.Did Sylvia approve of this?"

Nina asked calmly and indifferently as if she didn't care about the situation at all.

Harley's brow furrowed even more as he was further confused.

"What do you mean? Why would she care or even know about what is going on?" he asked.

Seeing Harley still trying to act surprised made Nina smile.She sat up and sarcastically said, "Even in your personal life, you are still a wonderful actor."

Harley frowned as he didn't understand why Nina was upset nor did he know how to appease Nina.He hesitated to speak again after seeing Nina withdraw her hand from his.

She was avoiding physical contact from him.

Both of them didn't say anything for a while while Nina stared at the white wall while Harley stared at her.

After being silent for a long time, at a loss of what to say, Harley finally spoke, "Please believe me.I am not lying.

When I got home last night, I heard from Carlee that you left home and I have been looking for you all night."

"Forget it,"

Nina said after Harley attempted to reassure Nina that his only concern last night was her.

"Since you care so much about me, why did you let Sylvia answer my call yesterday?"

Why does she keep bringing up Sylvia? Harley thought.

After seeing Nina's serious expression, Harley realized there was a serious misunderstanding.He quickly took out his cell phone and checked his call log.

Except for two calls from Carlee, there were no other calls from anyone else that day.

Harley didn't have his phone on him during filming, so that may not have been the case.He also knew that Nina wouldn't have made this up and Sylvia could have been on set yesterday without him knowing.

"I will find out what happened.You should rest and take it easy," Harley said.

"No need to figure it out.I know what happened," Nina said coldly.

"Just leave.I can take care of myself."

Him finding out what happened was nothing but a cover-up for his affair.

Nina didn't want to continue with Harley's lies.She just wanted to rest in the hospital before making plans.

Harley sighed in defeat and noticed that it was dawn as the sun light was peaking in through the blinds on the window.

Harley stood up and said, "Okay, I won't keep bothering you.There's still a scene that needs to be filmed today.If you need anything, please call me.This time I will keep my cell phone on me."

Nina smiled wryly at Harley.She didn't want to be any blunter than she already had been.

There was no need to further expose Harley's guilty conscience.

The two said nothing until Harley reached to caress Nina's cheek, and Nina rebuffed him by turning her back to him.

Harley retracted his hand and left, closing the door gently behind him.

Nina turned back over, seeing that Harley was no longer in the room with her.

Harley did not leave the hospital immediately after leaving Nina's room.He found the doctor on duty and a nurse and requested that they take special care of Nina.He also asked that Nina's room be switched to one in the intensive care unit.

As for Sylvia secretly answering his phone, he was at a loss for what to do about that.He planned to go to the crew in the morning and ask whether Sylvia had been on set.

Someone would have seen her.

Nina was unable to sleep after Harley left.She had a sore back from lying in bed all night.

Nina got out of bed to walk around.

While she was walking around her room, her nurse came in and saw Nina waddling around.

She didn't want to accept anything from Harley.

Besides protecting her unborn child, she was still struggling with how she wanted to deal with their relationship.

After Nina finished her breakfast, the doctor on duty checked her again.

Because of her accident the previous night, the doctor advised her to stay for a few more days to observe and ensure that her baby was okay.

Nina agreed.She was still not speaking to Harley anyway.

After requesting for clothes to be brought to her, Nina looked out the window and saw it was a beautiful clear day.

She planned on taking a walk.

Leaving her room, Nina waited for the elevator in the corridor, but just as the elevator door opened, she paused as she saw a familiar face.

"Melissa?"

Nina was surprised to see Melissa holding flowers and a fruit basket.

Melissa originally wanted to go directly to her room to visit her.

She didn't expect to see her right when the elevator doors opened.

After being stunned for a moment, Melissa smiled and said, "Hello Nina.I heard that you were in the hospital, and I came to check on you."

"Then, let's go back to my room and talk," Nina said.

Melissa nodded and followed Nina back to her room.

Nina wondered who told her Could it have been Harley? Besides him, no one else knew that she was in the hospital.

The two walked into the room, and Melissa looked at Nina's slightly haggard face and couldn't help feeling a little worried about her.

She had received a call from Harley and learned that she had an accident and the two's relationship was strained due to a misunderstanding, so she came to visit.

"Is the baby okay?" Melissa asked.

Melissa did come to visit Nina on her own, but Harley also asked that she do so.

"The baby is fine, not moving as much," Nina responded calmly.

"If the mother is okay, which I am, then the baby will be okay too."

Melissa smiled in agreement, ready to bring up the misunderstanding between Harley and Nina.
