Mr. Neal, Mrs. Neal’s Gone With The Money

Chapter 14

Chapter 14

“It seems that Mitchell and Cynthia have a good relationship,” Chyler observed, trying to probe further.

“Yes, we’ve known each other for a long time. Our relationship has always been very good,” Mitchell admitted, not hiding the truth.

Chyler whispered something into Joshua’s ear, so softly it was barely audible. “It seems they’re just friends. They would have been together long ago if there were any feelings between them. Why wait until now?”

“Get lost,” Joshua muttered, irritated.

Cynthia was never one to suffer alone; she would make sure whoever wronged her felt uncomfortable too.

She turned her gaze to the usually quiet Yiordan, greeted him, and then said, “Yiordan, I think you’re a man with a strong moral compass, someone worth entrusting my life to.”

Everyone present had no idea what she was doing.

“What do you mean?” Yiordan instinctively looked toward Joshua, who did not look too pleased.

Cynthia brought up the past, insinuating something. “I watched the reality show you were on. I think what you said on the show was morally upright and commendable.”

Yiordan was completely baffled.

Chyler asked, “What did he say?”

“They were discussing a hypothetical situation during some downtime after completing a task. The question was whether, after marriage, they would choose to be with their first love if they returned or stay with their spouse. Yiordan shared his opinion, which I think was spot on,

Cynthia explained clearly, recalling it by heart.

T

Hearing this, Chyler looked at Joshua, realizing that Cynthia was essentially talking about him.

Yiordan also caught on.

He remembered talking about this on TV. He seemed to have said something like, “I’m not a scumbag.”

Recalling this, Yiordan suddenly thought of the time when Joshua had abruptly called him a ‘ scumbag‘ while having dinner. So, does this mean that Cynthia watched the show with Joshua?

“How did you answer?” Chyler nudged his arm.

Yiordan calmed down, and after briefly thinking, he did not answer Chyler’s question. Instead, he said to Joshua, “Joshua, I think you’re making a mistake.”

Joshua and Chyler were speechless.

“Are you getting cocky because of the praise she just gave you?” Joshua’s irritation grew.

Yiordan, considering the number of people present, did not speak directly. Instead, he rubbed

his tired brow.

When he appeared on the reality show, Joshua and Cynthia had not yet had their marital issues, so he answered the question from an objective perspective.

Now that he knew Joshua was planning to divorce Cynthia for Jayleen, he was certain that Joshua would regret this decision in the future.

Joshua stood up and reminded the two, “I have some things to take care of. Don’t forget what I told you.”

The two nodded.

When Joshua walked over to Cynthia, his dark eyes glanced at her before he said to Mitchell,” If you want to be with her, he must be prepared to lose at least half your money and assets. She’s a greedy woman, this one.”

Mitchell was not joking when he said in all seriousness, “As long as Cynthia needs them, my property is all hers.”

Joshua’s hands, hanging at his sides, suddenly tightened. Chyler and Yiordan were also surprised by that remark.

“Then I wish you a happy relationship in advance,” Joshua said sarcastically before leaving.

Mitchell left with Cynthia to go to the car. Cynthia looked at him with disagreement and asked, “Why did you say those things to him?”

“I was summoned here by Mr. Yates here to deal with this issue, and he asked me to say that.” Mitchell replied, lips slightly raised and his demeanor spot on, “But your relationship is even worse than I thought.”

“It wasn’t like this before. I don’t know what’s wrong with him today,” Cynthia said, leaning

back in her seat.

“He’s jealous,” Mitchell said.

Cynthia’s lips twitched. She had no hesitation in saying, “You sure can spin a story. His mind is on his crush; he doesn’t have much of his brain left to be jealous because of me.”

“He’s likely jealous without realizing it. He’ll only realize it after he really lost you,” Mitchell analyzed, now with a greater interest.

Cynthia fell silent.

“If he asked you to remarry him, would you agree?” Mitchell asked, now more concerned.

Cynthia answered quickly, speaking her mind, “No, if he really does that, I would disagree. I gave him half a year, but he didn’t cherish it.”

“Okay, that’s good,” Mitchell said, relieved.

“When will you return to Nexuria?” she asked.

“When you get the divorce certificate.”

Cynthia was surprised at his answer.

“This is Mr. Yates’s suggestion. I have two more meetings to attend here in Jiverton,” Mitchell explained, still smiling.

“Okay,” Cynthia said simply.

Mitchell was a pioneer in the legal community and also had a pivotal position in the business community. He was like the child every parent hoped for, having won the love of Old Man

Yates.

The two had a great relationship, and she never interfered with Mitchell and Old Man Yates, even though their relationship was not the best. She did not want to let him stop listening to Old Man Yates either.

The two did not say much more as Mitchell dropped Cynthia off outside the villa’s iron gate. Just before she got out of the car, he added, “Call me if you need anything. I’ll be here for some time.”

He knew Cynthia’s abilities and believed she could handle her relationship with Joshua. However, believing she could handle it was one thing. How Joshua dealt with it was another.

“Okay,” Cynthia said with a small smile.

Joshua watched from the balcony above as the two people below seemed inseparable. His grip on the railing tightened, and he could not even hear what the person on the phone was saying.

He had one thought in mind.

He had to confront Cynthia and find out how her relationship with Mitchell began.

“Mr. Neal?” Mr. Cheyne called several times, trying to get Joshua’s attention. “Mr. Neal, are you listening? Mr. Neal?” he repeated, getting no responses.

“What is it?” When Cynthia came in after seeing Mitchell off, Joshua finally left the balcony with his phone and walked inside.

Mr. Cheyne was speechless.

So his words just now were in vain, were they?

Despite his annoyance, Mr. Cheyne dutifully repeated his report for the sake of his salary. ‘ The police just sent word that they’ve apprehended the suspect behind Ms. Shaw’s car accident. Do you want to go there?” 1

“No, let them handle it according to the normal procedures,” Joshua replied as he walked downstairs, determined to clear things up.

Mr. Cheyne was puzzled by his boss’s change of attitude but did not ask further. “Alright.”

Joshua hung up the phone and entered the living room just as Cynthia finished taking off her shoes.Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.
