Chapter 5 Who is the Child's Father?
Chapter 5 Who is the Child's Father?
Emma has a child? Who was the child's father?
Was she married? Or was it from those people who did that kind of thing to her 7 years ago?
In an instant, many speculations flashed across Jennifer's mind.
If William finds out about this…
Jennifer began to grow nervous when she thought about William's reaction after seeing Emma.
She absolutely cannot Emma stay in Rock City.
Emma turned off the speaker that she had accidentally pressed. Listening to the soft voice on the
phone, her originally gloomy mood disappeared and she grew cheerier.
"I'm guessing it's my darling Natalie."
On the other end of the line, the little girl grumbled,"Hmm, how can Mommy guess correctly every
time? Nathan and I sound the same!"
Without waiting for Emma to reply, Nathan’s voice came from the background. He sounded calm like an
adult, and not a child. "That's because I don't go around asking stupid questions."
"I don't ask stupid questions. I'm just…" The little girl suddenly choked. "I just missed Mommy."
When Emma heard her daughter wail, her heart started to tighten. "Natalie baby it’s OK. When Uncle
James finishes his work and Mommy settles in, I'll have Uncle James bring you guys over to visit."
When she heard the word 'Uncle James,' the little girl cried even louder. "Uncle James doesn't have
time for us. Uncle James has got a new girlfriend and even brought her home too, she looks so scary
mommy."NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.
Emma rolled her eyes. James had a tendency to switch girlfriends faster than his bedsheets. He was
being a really bad role model for the kids.
Emma frowned. "Natalie, don't cry. Give the phone to your brother."
The little girl was crying so hard that she couldn't understand her words. She would better ask Nathan
what happened.
"Mommy," Nathan’s voice came from the other end.
Emma asked, "Did Uncle James bring his girlfriend home? Are you scared? "
Nathan said, "No."
"Why did Natalie say he brought his girlfriend home…?"
"Yes he brought his girlfriend home, but no she didn't scare us. On the contrary, I think that Uncle
James’s girlfriend was scared by Natalie."
Nathan explained to Emma what happened.
James had promised Emma to take good care of her kids and not to mess around with women before
she returned. However, he drank too much alcohol and brought a woman back home one night and
forgot that he still had two children at home. Natalie suddenly appeared in a pure white nightgown with
long hair and a doll in her hand, looking like the girl from the Conjuring. The sight nearly scared the
living bejesus out of James's girlfriend and she never came back after that.
Emma could completely imagine the scene after listening to Nathan’s narration. Although she felt quite
sorry for James, she couldn't help but laugh out loud.
"Mommy, you're laughing too much!" the girl mumbled unhappily on the other end of the line and said in
a choked tone, "I don't want to live with Uncle James. Mommy, I miss you."
"Alright. Be a good kiddo. I'll pick you up as soon as possible when I finish my work."
"Mommy is lying. I don't believe Mommy anymore. Nathan and I will go find you by ourselves."
Emma didn't take the two little kids’ words seriously. She patiently followed her words and said, "How is
Natalie going to find Mommy?"
"Natalie wants to fly over with Nathan!"
Emma smiles. Oh, children. Not a care in the world.
