Marry into Money by Accident

Chapter 48

Chapter 48

Cece had no words.

Zane drew a puff. “Nancy, take her away, and stay away from her kind.”

“Come on, Cece.” There was something scary about Zane today. Taking the hint, Nancy grabbed Cece

and fled out of the villa.

After getting into the car, Nancy patted her chest to calm her racing heart. “I told you, Cece. My brother

doesn’t like people entering his personal space. He’s probably pissed I took you to his house without

him knowing beforehand.”

Cece looked back as the car slowly drove her further and further away from the villa she dreamed

of living in.

She could not shake off the picture of Zane and Lianne in her mind.

Cece was no stranger to Zane’s indifference toward the opposite gender. He shut down all her attempts

to get close to him.

Lianne was the only young woman who engaged with Zane in close proximity.

It was as if no one could come between them.

The annoyance got to Cece. “If he’s all about his personal space, why does the woman have access to

his house? Why can she hang around him?”

Nancy foolishly asked, “What woman? Are you talking about my sister-in-law? Although she cheated

on him, it doesn’t change the fact that they’re married. Of course, she has access to the house.”

Cece would think Nancy was getting on her nerves on purpose if she did not know her silly friend too

well. “Are you trying to make me angry, Nancy?” Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

Nancy scratched her head. “Why are you being mean, Cece? How did I make you angry?”

Cece glared at her. “I’m talking about Zane’s assistant.”

Nancy replied, “His assistant works closely with him, so I don’t see a problem with her moving freely

around the premises.”

Cece’s chest tightened with rage, and her words dripped with fury. “He used to have a middle- aged

assistant like Willow, and now he got a sl*t. Do you think she doesn’t get any idea about your brother?”

Nancy replied, “Cece, Ms. Simpson didn’t do anything wrong. It isn’t nice to call her a sl*t.”

Cece responded, “You’re my friend. You’re supposed to help me. Why are you taking someone else’s

side?”

“I’m not. I always have your back, but we can’t let our emotions cloud our judgment.” Nancy grew up

and went to school with Cece, so she valued her friendship with her childhood friend.

Nancy would do anything Cece asked of her. In fact, it was Cece who taught Nancy to swear.

However, Cece would often take Nancy’s advice and never threw a fit at Nancy, unlike today.

“I’m sorry, Nancy. It’s my fault. I’ll stop swearing since you don’t like it.” Cece put her arms around

Nancy and apologized. Until the day Cece became the lady of the Atlas household, Nancy was still a

valuable asset to her.

“I forgive you.” Nancy smiled, and the best friends were on good terms again.

Back in the residence, Lianne quietly gave a thumbs up on the sidelines after Zane turned down yet

another advance.

The man saw Cece for who she was. He was simply feigning ignorance…

Zane asked, “What are you smiling about?”

Lianne wiped the smile off her face. “Was I smiling?”

Zane paused before uttering, “I have no relationship with that woman whatsoever.”
