Chapter 813 Jimmy’s Confession

Jimmy heaved a sigh, “When I was with you, I was plagued by the fear of losing you. Now that I have lost you, it suddenly occurred to me that my life is not worth living… I was a nobody in my previous life and lived humbly, different from Charlie and Dick, who are my peers and always do as they like without worries.”

Rose stared at him. “You are not such a sentimental person.”

Jimmy said, “I am just an ordinary person. I didn’t take it seriously when I quit Cameron’s Group because I thought you were on my side. But I didn’t expect you to abandon me. I believed that however tough my life was, you would support me. After all, you are the only ray of hope in my life. But now that you have turned your back on me, I find my life signifies nothing. When I was a child, I knew studying hard was my only way out. My parents strove to collect the tuition fee for me, and I believed as long as I worked hard, I would establish myself in society. I didn’t expect myself to be incapable of keeping my favorite woman at my side.”

“Theresa dealt with you to settle accounts with you,” Rose said, “Why were you so ruthless to her?”

“I was immature and sensitive about others’ views of me then. To save face, I did wrong to Theresa. After

my death, you can pass on my apology to her. I failed her with regard to the matter of her children because I was poor then. If she gave birth to them, I couldn’t afford to raise other people’s children. Rose, you are from a rich family and cannot understand the worries of poor people like me. With a meager income, my parents could hardly support my sister and me. To lessen their burden, my sister dropped out of high school to make a living by herself. I asked Theresa to have an abortion, fearing the two children would grow up in poverty… Rose, do you understand my difficulties?”

As he finished speaking, Jimmy’s eyes were red with tears.

Seeing him confess so sincerely with a haggard look, Rose felt distressed. She was born into a wealthy family and, since her mother had passed away when she was young, was well-protected by the surrounding people and spared from suffering. She had never worried about money. Besides, after graduation, she didn’t need to find a job and was free to do anything she liked. As a result, she found it difficult to feel for Jimmy, who lived in a different world from her. But she could tell from his look that he had hard times. When he had been at Cameron’s Group, he had been a hard-working employee who had always worked overtime and stayed up late. Rose said to Jimmy, “I know you have your difficulties. But they cannot justify the wrongs you have done to Theresa.” She had been ignorant of the truth and misunderstood Theresa as an adulterer. After listening to the recording, she found Theresa had been wronged by Jimmy and suffered a lot. It was understandable that Theresa had taken revenge on him now!

Jimmy said, “I am the one to blame.”

“Since you have done injustice to Theresa, you should apologize to her instead of putting an end to your life, which is a silly move. Jimmy, if you die, your kin will be sad, and I won’t forgive you, either!”

Jimmy looked at Rose and said, “My life is at my disposal, and it has nothing to do with you.”

“Don’t talk like a child,” Rose said, “You can escape the charges by death. But have you never been concerned about the people who care for you? Do you want me to feel guilty for your death forever?” Jimmy lowered his head and said in grief, “I was dead the moment I lost you.”

Rose looked at him and relented, saying, “Jimmy, I will accompany you to apologize to Theresa. I think she is not merciless, and we can reason with her. As long as you promise to reform yourself, she will put aside the hatred and forgive you. What do you think about it?”Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.

“If I do as you require, will you return to my side?” Jimmy looked at Rose pleadingly.

Rose looked at him and hesitated before she nodded. “Yes.” She believed he was determined to reform

himself, considering he had been desperate to atone for his crime by suicide. He was in trouble, and she wouldn’t make life harder for him. She would like to be the glimmer of hope in his life. After all, she was his wife and couldn’t bear to see him dismayed, not to mention to lose him forever.

Jimmy said, “Rose, I don’t want to share my trouble with you.”
