KING MICAH: World Beyond The Ruins

Chapter 15

Micah’s POV

I have been staring up at the ceiling for over an hour, lost in my thoughts. Here I was, thinking I would be out the moment my head lays on the bed but that just don’t want to happen. Even after I took a hot relaxing bath.

I sighed and ran my palm across my face and then rolled on my right side. A knock sounded on the door and I furrowed my brows, wondering who it might be.

With bare feet on the wooden floor, I sauntered to it and pulled it a jar to see who it was.

A man dressed in armored scales was at the other side of the door. His eyes met mine and then trailed down to my naked chest. His brown eyes wide at the black vein lines that was spread over my chest.

He took in a shaky breath and quickly bowed his head and I nodded even though he couldn’t see me.

“The King Hayden has requested your presences” He said with an uneven voice and I scowled.

“I will be there in a few minutes” I told him and he bowed once more then turned around facing the hallway.

I closed the door and walked back to the bedroom and picked up the white shirt that I dropped carelessly. I quickly put it on and left the room.

The guard led the way and when he turned another hallway, I knew we weren’t going to the thrones room but to another room

I was tempted to ask the guard when my men was but kept it a bay knowing that if they were in trouble, they would have mind linked me by now.

The two guards guarding a large door pushed it open as well approached and by the smell coming from the room, I knew it was the dinning table and on cue, my stomach grumbled. The guards head slightly turned to me at the sound but I paid them no mind because I was to hungry to care – even though it looked and felt like a weakness to me.

Goddess, the poison was really taking it’s troll on me.

The dinning hall was as beautiful and shinny as every single thing in this palace. Adored with Gold, sliver and flowers.

Hayden Drakkon sat on his throne-like chair at the front of the table and on the table, there were different kinds of food.

There were two guards behind him and on the right side of the wall stood two maids.

I walked further into the room and Hayden stood up with a pleasant smile. “Please seat and have dinner with me” He said and I nodded in appreciation.

I sat next to him on the left side knowing that we weren’t just here to eat but also to discuss. I pilled up my plate with meat and secretly sniffed it to make sure it hasn’t been tempered with before taking a large chunk out of it.

We sat there in silence for about ten minutes, both lost in thought before Hayden broke it.

“You said you need my blood” He started, wiping his lips with a napkins and going straight to the point.

I dropped my fork down and turned my head to look at him and straighten up my back.

“Yes, I need it because I have been poisoned by the witches serpent dagger.” I told him and his eyes dilated.

Shit! I could tell that something was up and Hayden probably won’t be sparing me even a single drop of his blood.

“I thought you signed a treaty with the witches. Why would they still try to kill you?” He asked calmly while calling on one of the servant with his finger to refill his cup.

“I thought so too until they attacked me. That’s why I need your blood or else I will die!” I spouted, looking at him before looking down at the food and pinching the skin on my nose.

It was silent for a while until Hayden Spoke again. “I can not help you”

“Wait, what!?” I blurted out, gawking at him to see if he was joking but from the look on his face, I knew he wasn’t.

“I’m sure you heard me loud and clear King Micah” Hayden muttered calmly and I clenched my fist on my lap from how he was talking to me.

“Why?” I asked through clenched teeth.Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

Hayden scoffed and relaxed on his chair with his left hand resting on the armrest.

“For thousands of years, the wolves and Dragons have never associated with each other yet you calmly walk into my palace and demand for my blood!” He laughed getting on his feet and I did the same, ready if anyone attack might happen.

I swallowed my pride and took in a deep breath, “I mean no disrespect, King Hayden. It was a matter of emergency, I was desperate” I said, hoping he would reconsider.

Hayden paces around and shook his head. “I still can’t. The witches will know that I helped you!” He stopped for a moment and stared at the wall, probably thinking about the pros and cons of the situation and I waited, silently praying to the goddess.

He swifty turned to look at me with a hard expression. “You must understand Micah, we dragon shifters have been a very peaceful kingdom for thousand of years. If we help you now, they will declare a war against my people. As a King, you should understand what I am talking about. I can’t risk the safety of my people.”

I clenched my fist harder as I saw red. Why was this man so hard headed? For fuck sake they are Dragon shifter! One of the most powerful in the mythical world yet they are afraid of some pesty witches? How weak!

I never wanted it to come to this but I have to do what i have to do. I have a kindom to rule over and a mate waiting! I definitely won’t die when I just found my mate!

My skin started expanding and the slack and shirt tore off. My pale skin was covered in white fur and my nose turned into a snot. Within minutes, I had shifted into my wolf.

Hayden Drakkon just stood there and looked at me like what I was doing what stupid and that fueled my anger. He was the stupid one for not giving me his damn blood.

I wasted no time in attacking him. I could hear the servants shooting as they ran out the room but I paid no attention to them, my focus was on Hayden.

As I jumped towards him, he swifty moved to the side, dodging the claw that would have slashed his belly open.

I growled in frustration, why can’t he just make this more easier!

I walked around Hayden in circles, finding a weak spot to attack. Finding the perfect time to attack him unaware.

Hayden was faster than I asked her flew to the air, almost startling me. I hadn’t seen when his wings came out which caught me unaware.

The stomping of feet made me look around to see Hayden men had surrounded us. When I looked up again, Hayden was half shift with scales protecting him and was twice bigger than my wolf form.

Fuck! This was harder than I imagined.

With lightening speed, he tackled me to the floor but I rolled to the side and kicked him with my hind leg.

The forced I used in pushing him away made the wound on my chest open up and I whined in pain as blood gushed out.

I couldn’t focus on Hayden for the pain was severe. Once more, Hayden pushed me to the floor with his clawed hand on my bloody furred chest.

He brought his lips close to my face and I snapped my teeth with spit running down.

“Even for a King, that was quite foolish of you”

****

For attacking a King, you would have expected the person to be beheaded or locked up in a dungeon but that wasn’t the case for me.

I was in the room I was given in the palace with new clothes layed neatly on the bed. It has been about twenty minutes and I sat naked on the bed still confused about what Hayden would do.

I mean, if he wanted me dead he would have done that when he had the chance twenty minutes ago…

The door was pushed open and Hayden stroll in. “For fucksake Micah, put on some damn clothes!” He snorted and looked up at the ceiling.

I didn’t bother arguing with him as i stood up tensely and quickly put on the clothes.

When he saw I was clothed, he walked further into the room. “I have come to a conclusion” He said and I raised a brow.

Within thirty minutes?

“I’m listening” I told him, crossing my arms over my chest with my legs parted.

“If you bring your mate and she convince me to give you my blood, I will” He said with a smirk.

Two things came to my mind as I stared at him; How the fuck does he know I have a mate and is he crazy to think I will bring Lovette here?
