It Comes In Three's

Chapter 79

Chapter 79

Lottie’s POV

After Anna drops me off at home, I take a deep breath and gather my courage before entering the house…

Alex will understand.

Sure, he will be pissed off, but he will understand why I kept the letters hidden… at least I hope he will…

The weight of the threatening letters from Tommy rests heavily in my bag, reminding me of the danger that lives on through his words. But I’m not alone in this. I have to remember that I have Alex by my side now, and together, we’ll face whatever comes our way.

As I step into the house, the comforting aroma of home cooked dinner fills the air, indicating that Alex is already hard at work in the kitchen.

The sound of sizzling and the clinking of utensils against pots and pans greets my ears, and a small smile tugs at the corners of my lips.

“Hey, Alex, I’m home!” I call out, making my way towards the kitchen. “Something smells amazing!”

Alex turns towards me, a bright smile lighting up his face as he sees me. “Hey, doll! How was Anna’s? I thought we could have a nice dinner together.” he gestures to his own cooking, which consisted of chicken fajitas, as I smile widely.

The table was also fully set, filled with different condiments to add in, being our first home cooked meal together in this house…

One of my favourite meals too!

I walk up to him, wrapping my arms around his waist and resting my head on his chest. The comforting familiarity of his embrace fills me with a sense of security as he instantly holds me back.

His scent was intoxicatingly great, as I inhale it slowly – enjoying the masculine energy that he radiated.

“You’re the best, you know that?” I say, looking up at him with adoration.

He was my true soul mate… he has to be…

He chuckles, placing a gentle kiss on my forehead. “Only the best for my girl. So, how was your time with Anna?” He asks again, as I nod and pull away.

I take a deep breath, my nervousness resurfacing as I remember the purpose of what I wanted to discuss with him. “It was great, but I have something important to show you. Can we sit down for a moment?” I ask, as he eyes me warily next.

“Let me stick the food out then we can talk. Pour some drinks out too will you doll?” He asks, as I nod and head towards the fridge, Alex putting the cooked chicken into a bowl, adding the finishing touches.

We both eventually sit, as I take a wrap and begin to make up my first fajita burrito – adding cheese, salsa, sour cream and peppers.

Alex’s eyebrows furrow in concern as he does the same, eyeing me every so often knowing I had something important to say… “You seem tense. Am I going to be pissed off?” He asks, as I cringe at the question.

Probably yes…

‘I’ll just show you…” I sigh, deciding it was best to give him the letters as he pauses and waits for my next move.

I reach down into my bag, carefully pulling out the stack of threatening mail. Their presence alone sending a shiver down my spine as I place them before him on the table…

I watch as Alex’s expression changes from curiosity to anger – seeing that they are all addressed to me – with Anna’s address on the front.

“What the hell is this?” Alex’s voice is laced with fury as he picks up one of the letters, ripping it open, his eyes scanning over the chilling words that I hadn’t yet seen on most of them, as I await his full reaction…

“How long has he been sending you these? Why did you not show me these sooner?!” Alex grits out in sudden irritation.

I shrink back slightly under his intensity, my voice trembling. “I… I didn’t want to worry you. I thought… I thought I could handle it on my own and just hide them away. I thought he would stop eventually.” I mumble, knowing I was wrong to have hidden these.

Alex’s frustration is palpable as he slams the letter back down onto the table. “Lottie, you can’t keep things like this from me. It’s dangerous do you understand? We’re in this together whether you like it or not. I’m here to protect you now. Keeping these letters a secret puts both of us at risk – it’s stupid!” Alex scolds me, as I avoid his gaze and nod.

He’s right… it was stupid… what if his threats are real? People could hurt me, hurt us, and he wouldn’t even be prepared for it!

“Anna too! She should have told me, if you didn’t want to!” Alex adds, knowing Anna must have helped to keep these hidden from him.

It wasn’t her fault… she just knew I needed time…

Tears well up in my eyes as I clasp my hands together, desperate for him to understand. “I’m sorry, Alex. I didn’t mean to cause more trouble. I just didn’t want to accept that even from prison, he can still manage to get to me. Anna knew I needed time to process it all – she encouraged me to tell you!” I wipe my tears from my face, as he takes a moment to breathe.

His expression softens as he sees the tears. Before he pushes his chair back slightly and motions for me to approach him – “Come here!” He says, as I stand and shuffle towards him, before he pulls me down into his arms, holding me tightly. All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.

“Lottie, I love you. And nothing is more important to me than your safety. I would’ve had this handled instantly if you would’ve just told me. We need to face this together, no matter how difficult or scary it may be. You can’t keep hiding shit from me doll, first the Miami trip and now the letters?” Alex‘ voice is strained, almost disappointed in me as my heart clenches.

He’s right… I haven’t been a great girlfriend to him lately….

I nod against his chest, feeling the weight of his words. We’re stronger when we face challenges as a team, I have to remember that.

“Let’s finish eating, then we can figure this out.” Alex suggests, his voice gentle now as he wipes my wet face with his large thumbs.

“Ill read through each letter, make copies, and then report them to the prison. If I could get my hands on him again myself, I would, but luckily enough I know some people that can teach him a lesson for me…” Alex announces, as I return back to my chair and take my first bite of the incredible food.

What does he mean…

“You know people that can teach him a lesson?” I ponder on his words, as he smirks and takes a bite of his own wrap.

“I have friends in prison doll, don’t underestimate me. I can handle any situation – you just have to tell me about it first!” Alex complains again, as I nod in understanding, taking a bite.

He’s right, I do underestimate him. He’s much stronger and smarter than I give him credit for. If he wants to help keep me safe, then I’ll let him help.

His reassurance fills me with a renewed sense of hope and determination. As we finish off our dinner together.

“That will be another strike added to your punishment list doll.” Alex leans back in his chair after finishing the meal, as my mouth drops open in horror.

“N–No!” I argue, as he cocks a brow at me, taking enjoyment in my reaction.

He was referring to punishing me in the bedroom… something I have grown to actually enjoy with him… since I trust him.

‘One strike for running off to Miami, another strike for hiding these letters from me, and one more strike… and you’re out doll!” He chuckles, as I slowly eat my food – both excited and nervous for

what he had planned.

This man…

“Meet me upstairs when you’re done. I’m going to shower.” Alex chuckles, standing to his full heigh, before leaving a lingering kiss on my head on his

way past.

I’m a goner…
