Chapter 16
Benjamin Was Drunk
Larry told the truth. He added, "Even if Sir Martin likes Harper, she is just an outsider. Maybe he will support her to marry Frank."
Larry felt a sort of weird sense of reality.
His face suddenly turned cold and gloomy. Even the air around him seemed to freeze. Benjamin didn't want to continue the topic. He picked up the wine glass in front of him and drank the wine in one gulp.
Harper tossed and turned and couldn't fall asleep. She felt like ants were biting her heart. This feeling was not painful, but it was unbearable.
She decided to go to the Martin Manor early the following day to tell Paul and end this horrible marriage as soon as possible.
Harper closed her eyes and was about to force herself to sleep when her mobile phone rang. It was Benjamin.
She thought, "Why is he calling now?"
She hesitated before answering, "Hello?"
"Harper? This is Larry. Benjamin got drunk in Fihige Club. Come and pick him up."
"Fihige Club?" Harper frowned, looking surprised.
She wondered, "Isn't Benjamin accompanying Lauren in the hospital? Lauren said he was in the shower. Didn't it mean that he would stay there overnight?"
Harper pressed her lips. She didn't want to go to Fihige Club to pick Benjamin up. When she thought about what might happen between him and Lauren in the hospital, she felt disgusted. She said, "Larry, could you drive Benjamin back? I won't go."
"Benjamin is your husband. We all have drunk and can't drive. If you don't come to pick him up, I'll just leave him at Fihige Club tonight. Anyway, many women want to get close to him. Who knows if something unexpected will happen?" After saying that, Larry hung up.
Harper was in a dilemma. She finally had no choice but to compromise and drive to Fihige Club.
She knew they were in the exclusive private room at Fihige Club. She opened the door and entered the private room. It was quiet inside. Only Benjamin was lying on the sofa.
He seemed to have drunk a lot. As Harper got close to him, she smelled the alcohol on him.
Harper called him in a low voice, "Benjamin... Benjamin... Are you awake?'

Harper pressed her lips discontentedly. "Aren't you accompanying Lauren in the hospital? Why did you come here to drink? Could it be that Lauren thought you haven't divorced me yet and kicked you out?" Benjamin was really tolerant of Lauren.
Harper wanted to help Benjamin up, but he was too heavy. Fearing hurt the child in her abdomen, she could only call the waiter to put him in the car.
The breeze blew in the car. Harper drove back to the Pineview Villa. After the car stopped, she got out of the car and opened the door of the back seat. She suddenly met Benjamin's deep eyes and said in surprise, "You are awake?"
"Are you unhappy that I asked you to pick me up?" Benjamin asked in a low voice.
Harper pressed her lips. "No."
"Why are you pulling a long face?"
"You are overthinking. That's just who I am," Harper said indifferently.
"You're lying, Harper. You would never be like this before. When I was drunk, you would take me home immediately and make honey water for me." Benjamin seemed a bit aggrieved.
Harper frowned, looking at Benjamin in disbelief. It seemed that he had really drunk too much.
She thought, "Benjamin still remembers this, but why can't he understand our current situation?"
Harper said, "Benjamin, we are getting divorced. I won't do these things in the future."
"Don't mention divorce all the time, okay? Don't you feel it is annoying?" Benjamin's face suddenly became sullen.
Harper smiled helplessly. What she said was true. Or he was annoyed when he thought he hadn't divorced her yet.
