Chapter 895: Let Everyone Know You're Mine
Sandy nodded, "I've made up my mind. We'll go public when we choose a time. After that, we'll get
engaged and married. I want everyone to know you're mine."
Brandon indulgently replied, "Okay."
...
Viteto, the mountainous region.
After Zane parked the car, he immediately looked down at Yanis lying in his arms and softly called out,
"Yanis?"
Yanis murmured, "Have we arrived?"
"We've reached the town. Should we stay down here tonight and head up the mountain tomorrow
morning?"
Yanis slowly sat up and glanced outside the car window, "No need. Let's go up with Mitch and the
others."
Seeing Yanis's response, Zane didn't say anything more and instructed the driver to drive directly up
the mountain.
It rained heavily at night.
The rain fell incessantly outside throughout the night.
Yanis couldn't sleep well all night.
Her dreams were bizarre and varied.
At times, she dreamed of running desperately through the mountain town with a bulging belly, chased
relentlessly by Nealon's men.
Other times, she dreamed of Wang Qiong asking her to terminate the pregnancy.
Eventually, the unpleasant images that she didn't want to think about too much began to haunt her
dreams repeatedly.
She was startled awake, and the rain outside hadn't stopped.
Yanis stared at the window for a while before turning to lean closer to Zane. Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.
In the moment she leaned closer, Zane naturally extended his hand to embrace Yanis.
"Zane."
Zane softly responded, "Is something wrong?"
Yanis snuggled against Zane, "No, I just woke up suddenly."
Zane held her tighter, "Did you have a nightmare?"
Yanis didn't expect Zane to guess it, but she didn't deny it and murmured in agreement.
"I've been here with you all along, don't be afraid."
Yanis replied softly, "Let's go back to sleep."
The next morning, when Yanis woke up, Zane was no longer by her side.
Just as she was about to get up, someone pushed open the door.
"Yanis, are you awake?" Reed entered from outside the door. "I wanted to see if you were awake."
Yanis looked at Reed, "Didn't you go to the cemetery?"
"My brother, Taylor Payne, and Mr. Lawrence went there. We can only go on the day of the burial."
Reed walked up to Yanis as he spoke, "Mr. Lawrence said you weren't feeling well. Am I better now?"
Yanis nodded, "I'm fine now. How about Mia and the others?"
"They went to the village to spread the news and also to find the village elder to arrange a burial time."
Yanis sat up, "Are Mia and the others capable? Why didn't you go with them?"
Reed whispered, "I've reached adulthood, and according to the village customs, I can't go find the
elder. So I let Natasha go with Mia."
There were many rules in the mountainous region, and Yanis had heard Marnon mention quite a few
during her time here. Although she was told not to worry, she often saw Marnon and the others being
very cautious about certain things.
Hearing Reed's explanation, Yanis didn't find it strange.
Reed looked at Yanis, noticing her pale complexion, and reached out to test her forehead. "I made
some porridge. Have some. Mr. Lawrence and the others should be back soon."
Yanis agreed, "Okay."
"By the way, it's cold outside after the rain. Wear a lighter jacket and don't catch a cold again. It seems
like there will be more heavy rain these days, so we might not be able to return to Viteto temporarily."
As Reed turned to leave, he turned back to Yanis and gently reminded her.
Yanis responded, "Okay."
Reed left the room first.
Yanis got up and found a jacket to put on before heading outside.
Due to the rain, it was indeed chilly outside, and the cold wind gave a sense that winter was
approaching.
"Yanis."
Reed's voice came from behind.
Yanis turned to look at Reed, "What's the matter?"
"I've prepared the porridge for you. Have some first, and don't forget to take your medicine. I'll go check
on Natasha and the others. They should be back by now according to the time."
"I'll go with you," Yanis glanced outside, "It's not raining now, and I want to go out for some fresh air."
Reed nodded, "Then have your breakfast first, and we'll go afterward."
"I'll eat when we come back. I don't have an appetite now," Yanis said, adjusting her coat. "Let's go."
Reed nodded and followed Yanis out the door.
The changes in the village were always noticeable; even the slightest change could be felt.
When Yanis was here before, it was winter, but now it was summer, and everything was lush green.
"Yanis, be careful, the ground is a bit slippery," Reed reminded Yanis.
Yanis responded, "It's fine."
The Mister's house was located in a relatively remote area, almost reaching the mountaintop.
Yanis and Reed walked a long way without seeing Natasha and the others.
Reed appeared anxious, but he tried to slow down and wait for Yanis to catch up due to her physical
condition.
"Reed, you don't have to wait for me. Go and check first, I'll catch up on my own," Yanis could naturally
see the worry on Reed's face.
Reed glanced at Yanis, "Yanis, I'll go ahead, and you can walk slowly. Just keep going uphill."
Yanis nodded, "Okay."
After greeting Yanis, Reed quickly headed up.
Due to the rain, the ground was slippery.
Yanis walked slowly, and soon Reed was nowhere to be seen.
Yanis had to stop and rest every few steps.
The feeling of exhaustion made Yanis not want to walk anymore, but she gritted her teeth and
continued uphill.
Just when Yanis couldn't hold on any longer, a familiar voice sounded nearby.
Upon hearing Zane's voice, Yanis stopped and turned to look.
Mitch, Zane, and Taylor Payne were coming from a side path.
As soon as Zane approached, he reached out to support Yanis. "Why did you come up here?"
Yanis looked at Mitch, "Go up and check on Reed and the others. Natasha and Mia have been with
Mister Lawrence for a while and haven't come down. Reed is worried."
Upon hearing Yanis's words, Mitch frowned and turned to Taylor and Payne, whispering, "You two take
Yanis and the others down, I'll go up and check."
Payne spoke up, "I'll go up with you."
Mitch hesitated for a moment, then nodded and led Payne, heading up.
Taylor watched them leave, hesitated for a moment, then looked at Yanis and Zane, "Yanis, you and
Mr. Lawrence go down first, I'll go up and check too."
Without waiting for Yanis and Zane to respond, Taylor turned and ran up.
Yanis watched Taylor go up and then turned to Zane, "Zane, let's go up and take a look too."
Zane glanced at the uphill path, "Wait for me here. I'll go up and check."
Yanis reached out and grabbed Zane's hand, whispering, "I'll go with you."
