Chapter 853: Can Family Members Come Along?

After Aunt Rivers left, Yanis picked up her phone and snapped a photo to send to Zane.

Once she sent the message, Zane immediately initiated a video call.

Yanis answered the call, intending to speak, but she noticed that Zane seemed to be in a conference

room.

The words she had intended to say got stuck in her throat.

Albi's voice came through the phone, sounding serious.

Yanis silently ate her breakfast while listening to the commotion on the other end of the line.

Occasionally, when Yanis looked up, she could exchange a glance with Zane through the phone

screen.

Yanis whispered to herself, "Should I hang up?"

Zane shook his head and silently responded, "It will be over soon."

Yanis nodded and got up to put the dishes back in the kitchen. Just as she was about to wash them,

Aunt Rivers's voice came from behind, "Madam, let me do it."

Yanis replied, "I can handle it."

Aunt Rivers stepped forward and took the dishes from Yanis's hands. "Let me do it, Madam. You

should take a break."

Seeing Aunt Rivers insisting, Yanis didn't argue and wiped her hands before returning to the dining

table. Zane's call was still ongoing.

Yanis remained silent and entered her study with her phone. She sent out the edited graphic from last

night, confirming the detailed dimensions and delivery date.

By the time Yanis finished her work, Zane's call had just ended.

"Is the meeting over?" Yanis asked, looking down and noticing that Zane was still staring at the

camera.

Zane responded, "Have you had breakfast?"

"Yes, I just sent out the edited graphic a moment ago," Yanis replied, looking at Zane. "I won't have

dinner at home tonight." NôvelDrama.Org owns all content.

Upon hearing Yanis's words, Zane inquired, "Are you having dinner with Bonnie again?"

Yanis smiled and said, "No, it's with Fukuma."

At the mention of that name, Zane furrowed his brow slightly, paused for a few seconds, and then

asked Yanis, "Can family members come along?"

Yanis met his gaze and replied, "Do you want to come?"

Zane answered, "If family members can come, I'll go with you. If not, you can go by yourself, and I'll

pick you up later."

Yanis nodded and said softly, "I'll ask Fukuma later if she minds me bringing a family member along."

Zane responded, "Are you going to the shop later or staying at home?"

As soon as Yanis heard the word "rest," she couldn't help but think of last night's events. "I'm going to

the ceremony. You go ahead and take care of your work. See you tonight."

After finishing her sentence, Yanis hung up the call without waiting for a response.

Just as Yanis ended Zane's call, her phone rang again. It was Sandy calling.

Yanis answered, "Sandy?"

"Yanis, do you have time today? I want to talk to you about something," Sandy said.

Yanis replied, "Yes, I'll be at the shop later. Will you come?"

"Great, let's meet directly at the shop," Sandy confirmed.

Yanis responded, "Okay."

After hanging up, Yanis quickly tidied up and went straight to the shop.

As soon as Yanis got out of the car, she ran into someone she knew.

"Yanis, you're here," Nancy stood at the entrance and took a couple of steps forward when she saw

Yanis.

Yanis greeted Aunt Rivers, who was standing next to Nancy, and then looked at Nancy. "I thought you

had given birth already."

"It's about time, but I still don't know when exactly," Nancy said, looking at Yanis. "My mom and I went

to buy some baby supplies and happened to pass by here, so we thought we'd say hi to you."

Yanis knew that Nancy's visit wasn't just about saying hi. There was something more to it.

"Let's go inside first," Yanis said.

Yanis led them into the shop and arranged for Nancy and Aunt Rivers to sit on the sofa. She poured

two glasses of water and placed them in front of Nancy and Aunt Rivers. "Aunt, please have some

water."

Setting aside Nancy's situation, Aunt Rivers had left a good impression on Yanis.

Aunt Rivers nodded and said, "Nancy has a few things she wants to talk to you about. You two can

chat. I'll go to Miss Cooke's section and see if there are any new arrivals."

Yanis responded, "Okay."

After Aunt Rivers left, Yanis looked at Nancy and asked, "What do you want to talk about?"

In fact, she didn't need to ask. Yanis could already guess to some extent, but she didn't want to say it

directly in front of Nancy.

Ever since Zane had warned Nancy the last time, she rarely came to Yanis's shop.

Their contact had decreased significantly compared to before.

"Yanis, I heard about Neve's situation a couple of days ago," Nancy said to Yanis in a low voice.

After Nancy's words, Yanis looked at Nancy directly and asked, "Do you also think that her death is

somehow related to me?"

Nancy shook her head repeatedly in response, "That's not what I mean."

Yanis continued, "From the beginning, I never intended to be entangled with her. It was always her

targeting me. I thought that after she went in, whatever happened between us could be put to rest. But I

never expected that she would always believe that I ruined her relationship with Zane."

"Neve is a stubborn person. Once she has made up her mind about something, it's difficult to change it.

I've tried to advise her before, but it didn't have much effect. The more you say, the more impatient she

becomes," Nancy explained.

At this point, Nancy paused and continued, "Actually, like you, I also thought that after she went in, she

would be able to see the truth. But I didn't expect her to remain so obstinate. Mr. Bennett came to see

me recently, but I know that Neve and Mr. Bennett weren't close. I don't believe that Mr. Bennett

wanted to help Neve just out of a genuine desire to get her out. He had his own motives."

Nancy's voice grew softer, "Yanis, I don't know what Neve was thinking or why she sought you out after

coming out, only to end up in such a sorry state, even dying in such an undignified manner."

Listening to Nancy's words, Yanis fell silent for a few seconds. "Nancy, in my mind, I can differentiate

between you and Neve. To me, you are you, and Neve is Neve. You are two distinct individuals. Don't

always think that you and Neve are inseparable in my eyes. Do you understand what I mean?"

Nancy looked up at Yanis and said, "I'm sorry, I... I didn't mean..."

"Nancy, you don't have to apologize. Regardless of what you did or said before, let's turn the page now.

After all, Neve is gone, and there was never any deep-seated animosity between us, right?" Yanis

interrupted her before she could finish speaking.

Nancy's words got stuck in her throat, and she nodded, "I understand. Thank you."

Yanis smiled and shifted her gaze to Nancy's belly, changing the topic naturally, "Has your due date

passed?"

Nancy nodded, "It's been a few days. The doctor said we should get ready for admission in the next

couple of days."

Yanis asked, "Have you bought everything you need?"

"Just..." Nancy began to say, but suddenly paused, furrowing her brows and holding a particular

posture.
