Chapter 427
Chapter 427
"Is this the last flicker before the end?"
"What... what do we do now?"
Phineas, clearly losing his patience, snapped, "Come on, it's not like you just found out Norbert is dying. Why all the drama? Fletcher wants to see you. He's one of the top doctors in Rosefrost Hollow. Maybe he has a way to treat Norbert."
Morwenna's head shot up. "Where's Fletcher?"
"I've had him taken to the drawing-room. Go on, and remember, don't say anything you shouldn't!"
Morwenna dashed towards the drawing-room, recalling how Fletcher had miraculously saved Jethro last time. Perhaps he could do the same for Norbert Hetfield.
In her haste, she forgot to knock and just burst into the room.
A few bodyguards positioned by Phineas stood at the door, tasked only with ensuring Fletcher didn't leave. They didn't stop Morwenna.
Bursting into the drawing-room, she immediately pleaded with the man sitting on the couch, "Dr. Vaughn, please, you have to save Norbert Hetfield!" Fletcher studied Morwenna with a careful look. She had lost weight and looked exceptionally pale.
All the accusatory questions seemed to catch in her throat as Fletcher asked in a slightly hoarse voice, "Wenna, how have you been lately?" Morwenna nodded quickly, "I'm fine, really, I am. Dr. Vaughn, with your skills, you must be able to save Norbert Hetfield, right?"
"I'm sorry."
"Sorry? What do you mean sorry? Don't say that! Just come with me and see him. Norbert was even asking for juice today; you'll see, he can be cured."
"It's useless. I've seen Norbert many times before. There's nothing I can do. After his last episode, it was clear his time was running out." Morwenna's mouth fell open, and she turned to leave, filled with disappointment.
"Wait, Morwenna, I actually came to talk to you about something."
Morwenna didn't turn back, as if she hadn't heard him.
Right now, nothing mattered to Morwenna except Norbert Hetfield.
Fletcher quickly said, "Morwenna, Stuart's gone missing."C0pyright © 2024 Nôv)(elDrama.Org.
Morwenna paused in her steps, "Stuart's problems are not my concern."
Fletcher was shocked. Something he wasn't aware of must have happened.
Even when Stuart had been cruel to Morwenna, she had never spoken so coldly. But now, with Stuart's safety and possibly his life at risk, Fletcher had to push her.
He stepped forward, blocking the doorway, and said earnestly, "Morwenna, Stuart is in real trouble. He ventured into the wilderness, a place even explorers avoid. It's been five days, and he hasn't returned. We can't find him. He might be in danger." to
"So?" Morwenna's tone remained icy.
"Your phone and Stuart's are linked with a location tracker. We can narrow down the search area, but you need to be the one to go. You're the only one who can find Stuart."
Morwenna was unfazed, "The phone's with Phineas. If you need it, go get it yourself. Move, I need to be with Norbert Hetfield."
Fletcher didn't budge, his voice
grave, "Morwenna, that phone has a precise facial recognition lock. Only you can activate the tracker to find Stuart. If you don't go, he might
really be in danger."

A sharp pain struck Morwenna's heart, but she still refused, "I won't go. I need to be with Norbert Hetfield. I'm not going anywhere."
Fletcher had thought seeing Morwenna would solve things, but he hadn't anticipated such a firm refusal.
He couldn't help but wonder, had Morwenna truly turned her back on Stuart?
But why?
Fletcher tried one last time,
"Norbert's time is almost up. Staying by his side won't change anything How long can you stay? Stuart's fife is at risk. Think it over. You can find Stuart and then come back to Norbert. It's the same." to
