His Eagle Eyes on Me

Chapter 3078

The secretary's office instantly quieted down.Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.

Eliam walked over to Hayden and asked, "Do you need something, Mr. Tate?"

"My youngest sister is about to graduate, and I need to get her a graduation gift."

Hayden had just remembered that Ivy was about to travel to Taronia and wanted to get her something.

"What would you like to get her, Mr. Tate? Should I pick for you, or should we go shopping together?"

"I'll go with Shelly," Hayden said.

With that said, Hayden left the office and went home to pick Shelly up.

After Shelly got into the car, she said, "Not only do we have to buy a gift for Ivy but also for Layla! Didn't we plan to have a party to announce the good news about her pregnancy?"

Hayden nodded. "Yes, let's get a gift for Robert too."

"Alright. You'll handle Robert's gift, and I'll pick gifts for Layla and Ivy." Shelly began contemplating what to choose for them.

Hayden added, "And get a gift for your brother too. Last time he visited, I didn't even get to talk to him."

"Haha! My brother is a bit afraid of you. He's naturally introverted and usually doesn't speak to strangers," Shelly teased with a smile. "My mom always says that if our personalities were swapped, it would be better. I'm bold, and he's a bit timid."

"Why is he afraid of me?" Hayden asked, puzzled. "I've been kind to him."

"He thinks you're too formidable," Shelly replied.

"He shouldn't be afraid of formidable people. Instead, he should make friends with those who are more accomplished than him and learn from their strengths." Hayden shared his insight with Shelly.

"When my brother comes to visit next time, you can tell him that," Shelly joked. "I'm not afraid of you much."

"I believe you're not afraid of me now, but you were a little scared of me at first." Hayden recalled the moment they reunited.

At that time, Shelly had hardly dared look him in the eye.

"That wasn't fear. I was shy," Shelly explained. "Although we weren't familiar, I knew you were not a bad person. I could tell from the first time we spent time together at the hotel."

"You knew I wasn't a bad person, but you still didn't dare to tell me about the pregnancy," Hayden said.

"After I got pregnant, I searched for information about you and found out that you were based in Bridgedale. tf I told you about the pregnancy, and you took the twins to Bridgedale, what would I do then? I thought about a lot of things before making a decision," Shelly explained.

"I'm not blaming you. Going through pregnancy and childbirth alone must have been really challenging," he said.

"I indeed went through a lot of

hardships, mainly because my parents initially disagreed with me about keeping the child. I didn't tell them the twins were yours. They were worried it would affect my future marriage," Shelly continued, "At that time, I decided to give birth and was determined never to marry. I thought that if I had to have a child later, having one with you would produce better genes."

"... You sure have everything planned out by casting me aside after obtaining my 'genes'."

"If I could have supported two children back then, I probably wouldn't have contacted your family," Shelly said earnestly.

Hayden felt slightly upset. "Should I be thankful that you were poor, then?"

Shelly could not help but laugh. "My mom says everything in the world is destined. Don't dwell on the past, and you'll have fewer worries."
