Chapter 2930
"I was a victim as well, alright?" Avery sat down next to him and rubbed the baby's hand. "Your family was the one who forced me into carrying a lab-grown baby."
"Fine! You were a victim as well."
"Forget it. It's in the past." She changed the subject and said, "We will need to hire a nanny."
"Can't we take care of the baby ourselves?" Elliot did not think that their caring for the baby would be a problem as they had servants in the house.Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
"It's tiring to take care of the baby at night. We aren't young anymore, so if we stay up all night, we are going to be useless during the day." Avery knew that Elliot was far too excited to be a grandfather that he forgot how exhausting it could be waking up at night to care for the baby. "Let's hire a babysitter instead! Find someone younger and energetic."
Elliot nodded. "Sure. We can try sleeping with the baby tonight, though."
"Alright! We can try."
An hour later, Hayden returned home and found his family sitting in the living room with joy written all over their faces.
They surrounded the baby, showering him with attention while Hayden changed into his slippers.
"Hayden, you are back!" Layla hurried over. "Where did you go? You said you were coming home right away, and you've been gone for hours!"
"Aren't you going home?" Hayden asked.
"This is my home!" Layla said. "I'm staying here for a few days until the DNA test results are out."
"You just want to stick around for the drama!" Hayden said.
Layla gave up on hiding her true intention. "Hayden, that baby is yours, right? When did that happen? If that baby was born not too long ago and my sister carried him to term... that means you slept with her after New Year's..."
"Don't start calling her your future sister-in-law just yet," Hayden said, knowing he had no choice but to face his family.
"Oh, did you break up with her?
Hayden, what's going on? Who's the
woman? Why did she give us the baby? If she doesn't want the baby, does she want money? Why didn't you know anything when she know
delivered the baby to us? Has she not asked you for money? asked Layla.
Hayden's head began to hurt and he turned to look at Robert. "Robert, have you really not touched a woman before?"
Robert blushed. "I really haven't laid a hand on a woman before! I come home every night and haven't stayed overnight elsewhere."
"We all stayed in a hotel when Layla got married, didn't we?" Hayden asked.
"Well... we all spent the night there together!"
Layla caught on and said, "Hayden, did you sleep with a woman at my wedding?! That's when we all spent the night out!" Hayden fell into silence.
"Who is she?" Avery asked. "Was it a relative of us or the Santos'?"
"It's not a relative, Mom," Hayden said.
"Oh... who then? Tell us! Have you lost touch with the woman? Why else would she not inform you before sending the baby to us? Oh... you didn't even know that she was pregnant, did you?"
"I didn't," Hayden said honestly. "I went looking for that woman this afternoon, but I couldn't find her."
"What do you mean, you can't find her? Give me her information and I will track her down," Elliot said.
"I don't have any of her personal
information, or I would have found her a long time ago," Hayden said. "She didn't come asking for money. hasn't reached out to me at all." en.swhovels.net
