Chapter 16
Chapter 16
Sitting at his desk, Liam gave an official reply to the contracts. His black shirt made him look more
mature and attractive.
When Abigail knocked on the door and went in, he was signing a contract. After finishing, he closed the
document and then looked up at her.
"Mr. Jones." Looking at Liam, Abigail announced herself.
"Are you planning to resign?" Liam took a glance at her and asked.
"Yes!" Abigail said calmly.
"Why? Give me a reason." Liam said.
Hearing this, Abigail frowned.
'A reason?'
On the first day, she came across his "good thing" and made him unhappy. On the same day, they had
a bad time in the restaurant. Weren't these all reasons?
But why did Liam act like nothing was wrong?
Did he really not care about those things? Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.
She heard that when Liam was in the LK Group, someone was fired just because he accidentally said
something Liam didn't like to hear. Now...
Abigail was a little confused about him. She couldn't see through his tricks.
But of course, Abigail wouldn't say anything about it.
"Personal affairs."
"Personal affairs?" After hearing this, Liam raised his eyebrows and looked at Abigail with sharp eyes,
"Miss Swift, what do you think of the Powerline Group? You want to resign under such an excuse?"
Hearing Liam's voice, Abigail frowned. But she still looked calm, "I'm sorry!"
"Sorry? An apology is enough? Then who will afford the company's losses?" Liam asked.
'Losses?'
Abigail met Liam's teasing eyes. "Mr. Jones, I don't understand what you mean."
When Liam heard this, he sneered, "Then could you please tell me what you mean? Miss Swift, the
Powerline Group has always been very strict in hiring people. You resigned less than a day after you
entered the company. What? Do you think that the Powerline Group is a shopping mall or something?!
Come and go as you please?"
Did he simply want to ruffle her feathers here?
Why did this reason sound so far-fetched?
As long as the Powerline Group posted recruitment, there were many people who would fight over the
position.
Abigail stood there with a calm expression on her face. "Mr. Jones, you are joking. A powerful group
like the Powerline Group can recruit anyone as long as it wants. As for me, I'm sorry, there are some
personal affairs that need to be dealt with. So, I have to quit."
"I knew that Miss Swift just came back from abroad. I don't think that you have some ‘personal affairs’
to deal with." Liam emphasized the words personal affairs.
"I don't think a boss would care so much about a subordinate's business."
"Miss Swift, is this an excuse? That so-called personal affair." Liam asked.
Should he be described as sharp or unreasonable?
"Mr. Jones, is this related to my resignation?" Abigail looked at Liam and asked.
Hearing this, Liam sat up straight. "Of course, it is." As he spoke, he picked up a document from the
desk and opened it.
"Miss Swift, before you entered the company, you signed a contract with us for two years. If you resign
during the two years because of your personal reasons, you will have to pay for the breach of contract!"
Hearing this, Abigail suddenly realized.
