Ashburn and I tacitly refrained from contacting each other, putting that night’s events out of our minds.
This was our usual game.
I shuttled between school and the apartment, busy with my graduation project, attempting to make all news about Ashburn disappear in this way.
But occasionally, I still heard news about him from others.
“That Sophia has clearly improved her resources lately, probably from her boyfriend.”
“I’m so envious. That Ashburn, rich and handsome, willing to spend money on his girlfriend. Look at my boyfriend, Ugh.”

The teddy bear he sent me was placed by my bedside.
I made a wish to it, wishing not to love Ashburn anymore.
But my teddy bear, it seemed to have fallen from god to become a devil.
As long as I said that to it, Ashburn would come over in the evening with a strong smell of alcohol.
I never opened my eyes, and he assumed that I didn’t know.
It seemed like we were playing a game of stubbornness, waiting to see who would give in first , whether I would open my eyes first or he would drink himself to death.
However, soon, another man appeared in my life.
