We all say our own goodbyes to Daisy, and I see that glint of mischief in her eyes and I just pray she saves whatever her plan is for me when I get back later. After a full day away from her I know I will want to play and tease her tonight, and it will be more fun if she is bad with me as well. I know Cal said no more games or playing, but a small bit of fun won’t be too bad.

I laugh as I consider it, and walk around the building. It looks fine, I have the team sweep it for any bugs, and such. It’s just a normal house. Standing in an uptown residential neighbourhood. Neighbours are old, so less chance of anyone knowing it’s our safe house.

I leave with the few men I brought and move on to the next place. Getting to the door I see it’s open. Well, that’s one safe house down. I push the door open and sit in, ensuring my hand is on my dagger ready to grab it.

Walking through the place is trashed, someone was looking for

something. What though and how did they know this was our place? I take out my phone as the team searches but the house is empty, with no one here.

“What?” Cal snaps as soon as he answers, which I’m guessing means he hasn’t had such a good time either.

“Westmund is trashed. It looks like they were searching for something. Mattress cut open, sofa, cushions, everything.” I step into the kitchen and laugh. “Hell they even took the fridge apart, so they were looking for something” Why would we hide shit in the fridge? We keep all the things anyone would find useful with us.

“Same here at Evelton lodge, place is trashed. Marc called saying the same thing for portmond street, so someone has been trying to get information, we will need to meet and discuss it. Finish checking your other places, then we meet. Take pictures D.” I don’t get a chance to answer before he hangs up.

Walking around I take pictures, then order someone to come get it cleaned up. The fact they have done this to a few locations means they want us. Or maybe they just want to find something they can use to take us down?

Theres only one thing that would make us give up the city, and she won’t ever be left alone. So their plan will fail.

I spend the next hour driving between safe houses. Not all of them are suitable for us all. If we need to split up, we have smaller ones, that way we are not together. If someone follows one of us when we go into hiding. they will only find one of us.

We need to find whoever it is, something tells me whoever trashed our places is the same one waiting to grab Daisy, but what is the point in trashing our safe houses, and what do they want? I find myself becoming stressed, feeling annoyed that we can’t find the answers again.

After searching the houses and calling in the cleaners to sort the mess out I leave and get in my own car. I drive to where I am meeting Cal and Marc. The guys with me behind in their own car. As I arrive, I walk into the restaurant and sit down. Mare is here, but I don’t see Cal, which is unlike him to be late.

We don’t speak, we just sit and wait, ten minutes later I see Cal storming through the doors looking even more pissed off. Something else has happened, I can see it, but what? He pulls out a chair and sits.

“How many were wrecked?” He looks at us waiting.

“I got two.” Two out of five is bad.

“All of mine were.” I turn hearing Marc, shit.

“So they aren’t safe, clearly?” We need a new plan, new escape plans, new houses.

“The ones targeted no, but the others clearly they didn’t find them. Asking around. I found out it was over a week ago the houses got hit. So those that were clear are safe and unknown about.”

He looks on edge and isn’t saying something.

“What Cal. I can tell?”

“The offices, someone took a hit on them an hour ago. Luckily the guards watching it had arrived this morning. They tried to get in and get information. but clearly failed and bolted. No one has ever tried getting into the office building.” I can see he is anxious, but I can’t say anything, all I can do is offer to kill them all, which won’t help. Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

“This isn’t Dean or Richard.” They would want Daisy back, and make us pay, but to try to get into our offices, and search our safehouses, this is something else, and I can’t help but feel like we’re missing something.

“Agree, so we go through anyone we know who wanted revenge on us. Start now” Cal looks at us and I pull out my phone and begin looking through everything. I make a list of people who it might be. Those who hate us enough, and want revenge.

We all end up with a list of names, people who it could be, those who we know can get the money or have the money to pay people for help.

We go through the list and Cal removes so many from the list leaving us with four people,

“Get some guys to tail them. If they meet anyone, we get the list of names, times and where.” Cal pushes it to Marc.

“So home?” I look at him. I can see he doesn’t want to go back and tell her nothing was solved, he wanted to find out who it was today, but we can’t avoid it any more, we need to go back and just ensure we stay by her side until after tomorrow.
