Chapter 11: We divorce tomorrow
Allyce followed Enzo’s line of sight and saw Severo standing not far from him. He was holding two paper bags with the logo of a famous brand.
Severo approached Allyce on his long legs, his eyes trained on Enzo like a knife. “Señor Aybar, didn’t you hear my wife tell you to shut up?
Suffering such embarrassment, Enzo shot Severo a fierce look and said, “I’m talking to Allyce and it’s not your turn to interrupt”.
Severo shifted one of the bags to his other hand and placed his free arm over Allyce. His face looked calm, but his eyes were sharp and intimidating.© NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
“Señor Aybar, you should know. My wife doesn’t need a stranger to teach her”.
Allyce looked at Severo and then at Enzo, who was too angry to speak. She was baffled as to how it had come to this.
Wasn’t he arguing with Enzo? How had it turned into a confrontation between Severo and Enzo?
Ugh! Severo is her husband, and Enzo is the man she likes?
Allyce was a little confused about the relationship, but she hadn’t realised until today that Enzo was like everyone else, because his father was in prison, so they were always against him.
The friendly Enzo who remembered teasing him with sweets had suddenly become unbearably distant.
Enzo liked his public image, he could never argue with Severo in public.
Enzo leaves with a cold sigh. He wants to say something to Allyce before he leaves, but when he sees Severo standing next to him, he holds back his words and leaves.
Even when she got home, Allyce still wondered if Severo had offended Enzo.
Will Enzo be able to leave him alone?
“Do you know who Enzo is?” Allyce is finally convinced to give Severo a warning, considering that he willingly agreed to marry her.
Severo paused in the process of sorting things out and said quietly, “I heard.
“So, do you still talk to him like that?” .
“Why, are you sticking up for him?”
Severo dropped what he was holding and stood up to look at her, his eyes dark.
Allyce’s whole body stiffened and she turned quickly: “I don’t know what you’re talking about. I just want to remind you that the Aybar family is a prominent family in Cloud City. It’s easy for Enzo to come after you.”
“Is that so? Then I’ll see what happens. Severo folded his arms leisurely, seemingly heedless of her words.
Allyce was surprised by his fearless tone and turned to look at him: “Aren’t you worried?
“You seem to be worried about me.
Severo raised his eyebrows and smiled, looking as beautiful as melting snow.
Allyce was taken aback by the comment and said coldly, “I think I’ve said too much”.
Then he turned away again to go and tidy up his things.
Allyce left her new men’s slippers by the door and went to help Severo put away his purchases for the day.
Most of what was left were Severo’s things, apart from everyday items and groceries, shoes and ties and ….. White shirts!
Allyce’s eyes lit up: “You bought two white shirts?
“Yes.” Aaron responded politely, continuing to sort through his things.
Initially, the quickie marriage to Severo was just a way to deal with her grandfather, but all she wanted was a simple, clean marriage certificate and she didn’t want to get too involved with him.
Besides, he didn’t want to be given a hard time because of him, as that would make Allyce feel that he owed her.
After some thought, Allyce said, “We’re getting divorced tomorrow. In name only, I am the second daughter of Delahoz, but I have nothing. I can’t help you. Because of me, you have offended Enzo, and if we divorce, you can leave Cloud City. If you’re not in Cloud City, it won’t be easy for me to come after you”.
The room was suddenly silent, even the air could feel the movement.
It was the first time he had seen his body give off such emotion since he saw Severo at the Gindis Club … the rage.
