Chapter 38
Chapter 38
For Jolene’s answer to Colin.
She didn’t know if Colin was satisfied or not.
Anyway, she was telling the truth.
“Colin,” she said weakly, “I didn’t make it clear at the time, I didn’t hide it on purpose, but I’m telling you now because I couldn’t hide it.”
She was almost exhausted, and she had no energy left.
She closed her eyes and waved her hands weakly, “Colin, thank you, I’m sorry.”
She finished speaking, but she didn’t hear his footsteps.
She opened her eyes and found that he was still at the door.
“Jolene, since you and Bowen have passed away, and you didn’t love him, I thought…”
“Don’t answer so quickly,” Jolene said. “Let’s think about it.”
Maybe going back and thinking about this kind of thing, the more you thought about it, the more you would feel the shock.
After all, he and Bowen Evert knew each other very well.
After she said this, she lost her strength.
She closed her eyes.
Later, she didn’t know when Colin Barcy left.
Colin Barcy was a good match. She knew it.
She might not meet such a suitable person again if she missed him.
And they had a lot to say.
Maybe she would fall in love with him, the dead–hearted kind.
But people had the right to know.
Besides, the social circle was only so big that he would know sooner or later.
Jolene couldn’t hide it.
Jolene fell asleep later, and after waking up, Frank squatted beside her bed, looking at her worriedly.
“Sister, were you feeling well?”
“A little bit.”
“I saw porridge in the kitchen, and I’ll serve it to you.”
“Yes.”
“Sister,” Frank said again, “When I graduated, I would work hard. You wouldn’t have to be so tired in the future. When the time came, we would take Mom out to live with us, and
the three of us would live together.”

“Okay,” Jolene Marsh nodded. “I would enjoy your blessing then.”
“Well, you and Mom would enjoy the blessings.” Jolene waited for that day.
It should be coming soon.
She lay at home for three days but recovered slowly the next day.
Minor surgery, as long as there were no accidents, if you took good care of it, the damage to your body would be minimized.
She got a little more energetic and then got up and dressed.
The complexion was still not good, and there was no spirit.
She found a magenta dress and put on rose–red lipstick, instantly brightening her look.
Frank found a job as a miscellaneous intern in a company and left early in the morning.
Jolene went to the bank and relied on a good relationship with the bank when she was in the Earth Group and withdrew the 1.8 million dollars transferred by Sophie. She carried the money in an oversized tote bag, so heavy she could barely lift it. Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.
She knew that Sophie Gellar was the CEO of a cosmetics company under the Oriental Group, so she went there with the money.
The front desk said that Sophie Gellar was in a meeting, and she reported her family name as the special assistant to the president of Earth Group. The front desk knew about the relationship between the Gellar family and the Evert family, so she didn’t dare to stop her, so she let Jolene Marsh in.
She went straight to the meeting room and pushed the door open.
The high–level executives full of holes sat around the conference table, and Sophie Gellar sat on the top executive chair.
As soon as she entered, all eyes were cast on her.
Before Sophie saw that it was Jolene, she had already walked in front of her, unzipped the handbag, and dumped all the money on the conference table.
A total of 1.8 million, a full 180 stacks of 100–dollar bills, fell like a green rain of money.
Everyone was stunned, and Sophie didn’t react for a while.
Sophie was so surprised that before she opened her mouth to speak, Jolene had already slapped Sophie hard on the cheek.
There was a “snap,” crisp and loud.
Everyone in the conference room gasped, and even Sophie stood up from her chair covering her face in shock. Only then did she see who was beating her.
“Jolene? Jolene Marsh?”
