Chapter 9 Apologize
Chapter 9 Apologize
Seeing the contempt on Evie's face, Laney's expression changed. She was obviously angry. "Evie,
don't be so mean. Vaughn and I really love each other. If it wasn't for Hollie Hunter, we would have
been together a long time ago!"
Evie rolled her eyes and put on a disgusted expression. "Every homewrecking b*tch has had the same
excuse since ancient times. True love is bullshit. You're just a sl*t who seduced your best friend's
fiance!"
Laney glared at Evie angrily. "Who are you calling a b*tch? Evie, say that again to my face!"
"You know very well who I'm calling a b*tch, right? Some b*tches like to act pure, how disgusting!"
Unwilling to show weakness, Evie glared back at Laney.
Their quarrel attracted many people's attention. I quickly pulled on Evie's arm. "There's no need to
quarrel with someone like this. Let's go."
"Vaughn, they bullied me. Don't tell me you don't care?"
Just as Evie and I were about to leave, Laney took Vaughn's arm and looked aggrieved.
"Hollie."
Vaughn frowned, as if he couldn't bear to see Laney suffer, so he stopped me.
Hearing him call my name, my heart ached inexplicably. I resisted the urge to cry and turned around to
look at him coldly.
"Your friend, Evie, was really rude to Laney just now. Shouldn't she apologize?"
Vaughn looked at me from a distance, and there was no emotion in his tone.
Looking at his indifferent look, I felt as if my heart was being torn apart. The man who once loved and
protected me was now questioning me because of another woman. Our relationship couldn't stand up
to another woman.
"Evie didn't say anything wrong. You betrayed me first, and you lied to me for seven years. Now you
want my friend to apologize to your mistress. Why? Vaughn, what makes you think I should apologize?"
At this moment, I ignored the stares of the people around me. Step by step, I approached Vaughn and
retorted loudly.
I had tolerated his cheating, but now he was going too far. I was not someone who could be bullied
easily.
Hearing my words, the people around began muttering amongst themselves. Almost all of them were
blaming Vaughn.
I've always been soft-hearted, and I've never raised my voice at Vaughn, but I was very angry today.
Obviously, Vaughn didn't expect that I would talk so loudly about his affair. For a moment, he couldn't
control his expression, and his eyes betrayed his guilt.
"Hollie, why are you so loud? Vaughn and I really love each other. If it weren't for you, we would have
gotten married long ago. Now you are still pretending to be the victim. You're the one who trapped Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.
Vaughn!"
Laney walked to Vaughn's side, held his arm tightly, and looked at me angrily.
"Love him? I trapped him?" I snorted derisively. "I don't even want a cheating sc*mbag like him.
Disgusting!"
A mocking smile tugged at the corner of my lips as I stared coldly at the two of them snuggled up to
each other.
I cannot tolerate any cheating. No matter how much I loved Vaughn, from the moment I saw him having
sex with my best friend, our relationship was over.
