Devoted Love, Mr. Hayes’ Darling Wife

Chapter 981: The little potty of dear Paulita (2)

After Paula Rouco accompanied Severo Laris on the trajectory of his life in New York City, Severo Laris secretly booked two tickets to Philadelphia.

One morning, after dragging someone forcefully out of bed, it was time for a trip for two to Philadelphia.

For seven years, Paula Rouco lived alone in Philadelphia for almost 365 days.

Severo Laris took Paula Rouco home to Philadelphia for the first time.

Severo Laris travels light and seems to know the route better than she does.

This piqued Paula Rouco’s curiosity, “How do you know my Philadelphia home so well?”.

Severo Laris smiled slightly and did not hide it, “Before we reconciled, to learn more about you all those years ago, I had flown to Philadelphia more than once to visit your neighbors and learn my way around.”

Paula Rouco sighed softly, “But I don’t know the neighbors very well.”

Severo Laris patted her little head, “I’m not very sociable either, but I thank the neighbor for saving you, if she hadn’t called an ambulance in time to take you to the hospital … I can’t imagine it now”.

Paula Rouco looked up at him, and Severo Laris’ kiss, rested on her eyes.

Very warm and soft.

Severo Laris said, “When we got married, I emailed that neighbor of yours a wedding invitation, and even though she wasn’t there, I mailed our plus ones and wedding sweets.”

Paula Rouco looked at the Philadelphia house and said, “Severo, what do you think would happen now if I had been lying in the bathtub and slit my wrists and really died? All those videos of me, would you have gotten them?”.

Severo Laris took a deep breath, the mention of the subject still made him feel a little heavy and his heart recoiled.

So reaching out, he hugged her tightly and said, “I’ll be sure to get those videos.”

Paula Rouco turned her head to look at him and asked curiously, “And what would you do?”

He looked into her clear, bright eyes and said solemnly, word for word, “I’ll watch all the videos carefully, one by one, maybe many times, and then I’ll come to your funeral and walk around the corners you walked and stayed in Philadelphia, one by one.”

“And then what?”

“Then I’ll go keep you company.”

Paula Rouco turned around and threw her arms around his neck, “But they say that when you die you don’t feel anything or feel alone, only that form and consciousness dissolve completely in this materialistic world.”

Severo Laris hugged her tightly, closed his eyes and said, “Whatever the form, I don’t want to leave you alone, to become wind, to become cloud, even if I am not conscious and don’t feel alone, I want to be by your side.”

“Severo, today you have been saying many loving things.”

Severo Laris lowered his eyes and looked at her softly, “Do you like her?”

“Like.”

Paula Rouco leaned her little face in for a kiss.

Severo Laris grabbed her, lifted her high and the two of them stood between the cabinets, kissing for a long time.

Afterwards, Severo Laris and Paula Rouco returned to Curtis College together.

Paula Rouco spent her entire academic career in Philadelphia at this school.

Paula Rouco said, “What I miss most is when it rains and all the other students have umbrellas from their boyfriends and I only have hitchhiker umbrellas.”

Severo Laris, distressed and amused, said, “You want the hitchhiker’s umbrella, then?”

Paula Rouco glared, “Would I be stupid not to? She’d get soaked.”

Severo Laris patted his little friend’s head, “Well done, you don’t have to ignore the stalkers, but umbrellas are a must.”

Paula Rouco puffed up and reached out to twist his arm muscles, “Not like you broke up with me and didn’t come to pick me up.”

“Well, I was dead wrong.”

“For being so honest in admitting your mistake, I will kindly forgive you.”

Severo Laris took her hand and, lowering his gaze, rested his thin lips on her ring finger, where she wore her wedding ring, and smiled slightly, “Thank you, ma’am, for your understanding.”

As Severo Laris and Paula Rouco walked down from the school building, Paula Rouco glanced outside and her little face became obvious.

“It’s really raining.

Surely you can’t sing about rain.

God turn her face up and she says down.

Severo Laris was not carrying an umbrella and there were no umbrellas for sale at the school.

Paula Rouco, embarrassed, wrinkled her small, white brow at him, “What do you say?”

It’s not raining much.C0ntent © 2024 (N/ô)velDrama.Org.

Severo Laris took off the coat he was wearing and propped up his arms, “Come here.”

Paula Rouco slipped into his arms.

The two men trotted through the rain with their Severo Laris coats on top of them.

When we arrived at the school gate, it was raining hard and Severo Laris was carrying Paula Rouco straight on his back, his head on Severo Laris’ coat as if he were a small child, showing only a pretty white face.

A certain someone leaned on Severo Laris’ back and sighed like a little old lady, “Hey, it looks like God wants to punish you for how much it rained on me in those seven years.”

Severo Laris holds the man on his back tightly, amused.

Paula Rouco, with her little head on top of her coat, finally breaks away with a little coat so it won’t rain on Severo Laris.

Severo Laris: “Didn’t I say I wanted God to punish me?”

Paula Rouco puffed out her little mouth, “Isn’t it enough that I feel sorry for myself?”.

Good, very good.

Near Christmas Eve, Severo Laris and Paula Rouco returned to La Ciudad Santa.

Just a day after arriving in The Holy City, the two returned for dinner at The Rouco Family.

Adam Rouco and Estrella Berrocal had not seen their daughter for a long time and missed her.

Roberto Rouco also missed him so much that he asked Severo Laris and Paulita to stay over with him after dinner.

That night, instead of returning to Villa Moon Lake Road, Severo Laris and Paula Rouco stayed at The Rouco Family.

Paula Rouco came out of the bathroom humming after a shower when Estrella Berrocal knocked on the door.

Paula Rouco, thinking it was Severo Laris, didn’t look, grabbed a dry towel in her hand and threw it back.

Because normally at home, after showering and washing her hair, it is Severo Laris who polishes it.

“Severo, I feel like my father doesn’t hate you so much anymore.”

As soon as the words came out of her mouth, Estrella Berrocal couldn’t help but laugh and said, “Your father didn’t hate Severo Laris as a person in the first place. ”

Paula Rouco shuddered, embarrassed, “Estrella, I thought it was Severo Laris. ”

Estrella Berrocal grabbed a towel, walked over to her, dried her hair and said softly, “You’re married to Severo Laris, how did your father allow you to marry him if he still hates him?”

It was true.

Estrella Berrocal hesitated for a moment, but could not resist asking, “Paulita, you have been married to Severo Laris for almost a year, do you plan to have children?”

Estrella Berrocal felt bad asking at first, after all it was a matter between the young couple Severo Laris and Paula Rouco.

But then she felt that she, as Paulita’s mother, should ask. Paulita is not too young and if she wants to have children, it is high time she had them.

Paula Rouco said, “Severo Laris and I have no intention of having children.”

Estrella Berrocal was stunned, “Really, no children?”.

“Estrella, I don’t want to have a baby.”
