Devoted Love, Mr. Hayes’ Darling Wife

Chapter 1124: You’re Linlang on Earth (1)

On this island in southern Massachusetts, Micaela accompanied Nico on the island for a full half month.

In this half month, Micaela and Nico have worked almost tirelessly to fill the gaps and vacancies that have existed for two whole years.

In the two years that Micaela has been away, many unspeakable things have happened to Nico.

For example, Nico was by no means a heavy smoker, but in the last two years he has become one.

Micaela is also learning.

After falling asleep last night in the middle of the night, Nico coughed incessantly and Micaela dragged him to the local Grape Island clinic the next morning to get checked out.

After tossing and turning most of the night, neither could sleep well.

The test results were bronchitis and the throat was not doing very well.

The doctor’s advice was to quit smoking and reduce the number and frequency of cigarettes.

Nico may be rampant, and restraint does not seem to be a word in his vocabulary, but he is not so rampant as to be reduced to a tobacco addict.

Back at the villa, Micaela drove and Nico, sick, sat in the passenger seat with his hands on the back of his neck and sunglasses on, leaning back and enjoying the sun and the island’s sea breeze.

Micaela frowned slightly, somewhat annoyed at his lack of concern for her health, “You are very capable, you have become a smoker after two years, how come your teeth aren’t yellow from the incense smoke?”.

Nico turned his head and smiled playfully at him, “If my teeth become yellow and ugly, can you still look at me when you come back? I’ll have to go to the dentist regularly.”

“Whitening his teeth while smoking, Mr. Nico is a man who knows how to have fun and is so refined that he almost puts himself on a woman’s level.”

Nico put a hand to his face, “It’s a joke, why is he on the line?”.

Micaela turned her face slightly, not wanting to be taken in by him when she was serious, and said coldly, “The doctor said quit smoking, starting today, give me the cigarette case and lighter, I don’t want to marry a smoker.”

Nico smiled indulgently at him, bandit: “It’s not impossible to quit smoking, but I’ve been too addicted to it for the past two years, and it’s a bit cruel of you to ask me to quit cold turkey, not to mention that it’s easy to quit halfway and get worse. You might also think of a way to give me something else to comfort me and distract my mouth when I quit.”

“Gum?” Micaela mused, frowning and looking at him.

But as soon as she looked away, Nico quickly leaned over and gave her a kiss on the lips, the man felt perversely uncomfortable and the smile on his thin lips widened. “If you quit smoking like that, you might have a chance at success, give it a try.”

“I’ll drive Nico!” Micaela glared at him, but her tone was kind.

Nico leaned back in the passenger seat, closed his eyes and basked in the sun, saying lazily and arrogantly, “I’m a smoker because of you, don’t get upset.”

Micaela gave him two unconscious glances, feeling guilty, and explained, “I don’t dislike you, I just want you to stop smoking because smoking too much is bad for your health, if you were just spending the time to smoke once in a while, I wouldn’t force you to quit, instead I would pass you a lighter. There is nothing wrong with having some hobbies in life, but if that hobby has become so serious that it affects your physical and mental health, then you have to abstain from it.”

Nico gave a hanging smile, “Ms. Micaela told me to give it up, how dare I not do it.”

“I tell you I’m serious.”

“I’m serious too Mrs. Micaela,” Nico said as he took one of her hands and placed it against his thin lips and kissed it.

When they arrived at Nico’s private villa, Micaela parked the car in the yard.

Nico was so addicted to smoking that he got out of the car and unconsciously fumbled in his pants pockets.

Micaela fixed her gaze on him and held out her hand, making it clear that she was going to confiscate his cigarette case and lighter.

Nico handed over the cigarette case and lighter in one piece and, when he was done, walked over to her with his hands in his pockets and sneered, “You can take full responsibility for me when you confiscate the items that keep me alive.”

With that, Micaela was taken by surprise and another kiss landed on her lips.

The man had stretched lazily and entered the villa. Micaela looked at the cigarette case and lighter in his hand and followed them inside with some helplessness.

Nico had slumped down on the sofa, picked up a magazine and flipped through it nonchalantly.

When Micaela thought about his puritanical life during those two years, she couldn’t help but feel hurt and asked him, “During the two years I was away, didn’t you go out with your friends or anything else for a while, other than reading books and smoking? Was there nothing else you could do?”

How many cigarettes are smoked a day and how much time is spent smoking and spending alone.

Nico flipped through the magazine with a clatter and returned absentmindedly, “Keep watching little porno movies.”Content © NôvelDrama.Org.

“… Except this.” This man, can he ever be decent?

Nico threw the magazine down and leaned back on the couch, resting his head on one hand and looking at her with serious eyes. “And thinking of you, of course.”

Micaela was slightly stunned and, for a moment, she didn’t know if she was more moved or more heartbroken.

“Despairing of your man?”

Micaela skirted the issue by asking, “How many packs of cigarettes did you smoke a day when you were at your worst?”

“Seven or eight packs.”

Too many. Like a smoker.

Micaela frowned, “You can’t smoke that aggressively.”

During the conversation, Micaela’s cell phone rang. In the days since Micaela had arrived in Grapevine to pursue Nico, the calls hadn’t stopped, and the phone was constantly bombarded by agents and company executives.

Even Nico couldn’t help but tease, “You’ve had enough vacation this time, you’ve had enough time with me, if you want to go to work, I’m not going to stop you, with me it’s not like I’m stopping you from getting ahead.”

Micaela, slightly stunned, held her phone and said, “I just talked to my agent, I don’t have any important announcements lately, so I can be with you all the time.”

If Nico was an ordinary man, maybe he would have believed Micaela’s bullshit, but Nico is a human being, “Ms. Micaela, I also consider myself a behind-the-scenes capitalist in the entertainment industry, even if you are a big shot, if your agent and your boss really have no problem with you after so long, then they must be doing it for charity. ”

Micaela bit her lip and thought for a moment before telling Nico in a haze, “There’s something I’ve been thinking about lately but haven’t decided yet, and I want you to help me weigh the pros and cons.”

Micaela rarely asks Nico about her career and rarely asks him to make decisions for her.

“Tell me about it.”

Micaela said earnestly and calmly, “I’ve thought about it, I don’t think it’s a long-term solution to develop myself overseas. I went to Hollywood just to gild the pill, people wouldn’t say this is Nico’s wife, but this is Micaela’s boyfriend, but it was just to even things out, and now I’ve had enough of running around, I’d rather stay by your side.”

Nico looked at her for a long time with a dark look, and suddenly let out a soft laugh, “You’ve already decided on your own, haven’t you.”

“I just… I don’t want you to have to work so hard to keep the relationship alone again, and it’s okay for me to go the rest of the way, if that’s okay with you.”

Nico looked at her with an ever deepening gaze, the corners of his eyes smiled slightly, “Leave the hard work to your man, as for you, be a good Mrs. Micaela for me, that’s enough.”
