Devoted Love, Mr. Hayes’ Darling Wife

Chapter 1021: Using Florence as a target

On the first day of the year, Camila Linares brought Florencia to the Amengual Group for a visit.

Camila Linares had the honor of saving Nico’s life, and to repay her grandson for saving her life, Grandpa Valentin’s son was never mean.

When Camila Linares took Nico to the hospital while he was still in surgery, Grandpa Valentinzi promised Camila Linares outside the operating room that he would be available for any future needs.

And, in return, he was able to fulfill a wish of Camila Linares.

Today, Camila Linares is here to make that wish.

Upstairs in the studio, Camila Linares smiles as she talks with Valentin Amengual.

“Grandpa Valentin, how are you feeling?”

Valentin Amengual, cane in hand, settles into his armchair and nods slightly, “Not too bad.”

Valentin Amengual raises his hand and gestures, “Ms. Camila, have some coffee, it’s the new Longjing of West Lake, it tastes good.”

Camila Linares, smiling tendentiously, with the corners of her lips almost reaching her temples, took the delicate porcelain coffee cup, took a sip and falsely said, “It tastes very good, it’s a good coffee.”

Valentin Amengual could see that Camila Linares had something to say to him, “Madam, what does Camila want from me when she comes to visit me on the first day of the year? Please don’t hesitate to say it.”

Camila Linares spoke shyly, “My daughter Florencia will be seventeen after the New Year, she is not too young, I was wondering if … I should find a good family for her.”

Camila Linares was not sure if Grandfather Valentinzi liked The Matamoros family, although she said she could help her in any way she wanted, but marrying Florencia to a famous family like the Amengual Group was not something Grandfather Valentinzi would accept. Valentinzi was not able to accept it.

Grandfather Valentinzi said, “Seventeen years old is too early to think about a father-in-law, and you are not old enough to marry.”

Camila Linares did not dare to reply and agreed, “Yes, yes, but I, as a mother, want to settle down for her sooner rather than later, so that the two children can develop their relationship and get married later.”

“You mean, after you find your in-laws, get engaged first?”

“Yes, that’s what I mean.” Camila Linares watched Grandfather Valentinzi’s micro-expressions closely.

Grandfather Valentinzi said, “I have a grandson from a friend’s family who is about the same age as your daughter, so I can arrange for them to meet later. But it’s up to them whether they like it or not, so we adults shouldn’t get involved.”

Camila Linares bit her lip and said hesitantly, “Grandpa Valentine, actually, my daughter has someone she likes, and I came today to see what Grandpa Valentine thinks.”

“Ah, who is it, I know.”

Camila Linares came clean: “My daughter has had a crush on Mr. Nico for a long time. I’ve admired Mr. Nico for a long time and I would like to…”

Valentin Amengual frowned a little and reflected objectively, “But Mr. Nico is older than your daughter and I know my grandson very well.”

Camila Linares said, “Age is not a problem, Mr. Shen will only be 26 after New Year’s, that is only nine years older than Florencia. I’m in no hurry to get married, I just want them to try it, Grandpa Valentin, what do you think?”.

Valentin Amengual did not object, after all it was not a marriage, “Let them try it out, it’s fine, I have no problem.”NôvelDrama.Org holds this content.

Camila Linares was relieved to see Valentin Amengual give in, it seemed there was still hope for Florencia to marry the Amengual Group.

“Good thing Grandfather Valentin did not object, I was afraid that, Grandfather Valentin would look down on a small family like ours.”

Valentin Amengual waved his hand, “I don’t care about being from a good family, a clean family, a girl with nothing fancy, a young man who gets along, it’s up to them.”

“Yes, you’re right.”

Downstairs, Nico was shooting darts.

Two hit the heart, three were a little off, but they were on the nine.

But Nico was playing carelessly, throwing at random.

Florence’s eyes were glued to Nico and she couldn’t take her eyes off him.

“Mr. Nico, you are good at darts, can you teach me?”.

Nico glanced at her and, with an unpleasant look of amusement, lifted his chin slightly and ordered, “Go get an apple.”

Florence obeyed and went to fetch an apple, a red snake fruit, which she had picked out and thought Nico would like to eat.

“Mr. Nico, why don’t I peel it for you?”.

Nico narrowed his dark eyes slightly and curved his lips, “No, you take the apple and put it there.”

Florence wasn’t sure what Nico was going to do, but she didn’t want to spoil Nico’s fun for fear that he would get angry and ignore her.

She took the apple and stood in front of the dartboard.

Nico took a new dart from the dartboard, flicked her wrist and flicked it a couple of times before saying, “Put the apple on top of your head.”

Realizing what Nico was about to do, Florence was instantly shocked and her lips quivered, “Mr. Nico… this is not appropriate.”

Nico’s face took on an unmistakable bandit of emotion, “What do you mean it’s not appropriate, can’t you trust me?”

“I … I’m not trusting Mr. Nico … I, just … am.”

“If you can trust me, you should know that I won’t fail.” Nico’s skill at setting a trap was top notch.

Florence stood still, biting her white lip.

At the sight of her, Nico dropped the darts back on the board and with a cold face dropped the words, “Too bad.”

Florence feared that he was really angry, “Mr. Nico, I will play with you … I will only play with you.”

Florence stiffly placed the apple on her head and closed her dead eyes as if she was going to a torture chamber.

Nico laughed at her coy look and picked up the dart, not at all startled, and reminded her in a nonchalant, lazy voice, “Don’t move, if you do I won’t be able to shoot the dart properly, and if you don’t I won’t know if it’s going to hit the apple or your face.”

Florence’s eyelashes quivered like a sieve with her eyes closed.

If he shot her in the face … wouldn’t she be disfigured?

“Freeze, one, two, three…”

“Ah!”

Florence opened her eyes in surprise and ducked, dropping the apple to the ground.

Nico held the unfired dart in his hand, frowning impatiently and sighing, “What’s all this movement, I haven’t shot it yet.”

Florence’s little face turned pale: “…”

“Mr. Nico … can I stop playing?”

Florence was on the verge of tears of fear, but what did the man say?

“I can’t.” His face was cold, he didn’t seem to be joking.

Florencia gritted her teeth, put the apple back on her head and squeezed her eyes shut.

“Mr. Nico, hurry up, I’m scared.”

Heh.

Nico aimed the apple at the top of Florence’s head and shot past with precision.

Bang…

The apple landed, and the person holding the dart was so strong that it went through the apple and the core and ended up in the exact red center of the frisbee target.

A perfect shot.

A crack shot would be an understatement.

But Florence, standing there, was so scared that her legs were shaking and she was too weak to take a step.

Nico had had enough and, without looking at her, said, “Compared to your sister’s guts, you’re not even close.”

Florence was angry and aggrieved, her eyes red and her face as white as a dead man’s.
