Lynn’s Pov

“No girl should be treated like trash…” said the player.

That was ironic coming from Alec, the player who didn’t quite treat girls like they were of any use. I tried to stop myself from laughing but failed so I disappeared to the kitchen hoping he wouldn’t follow me. That was surely the most ironic thing I had ever heard.

“Lynn,” Alec called out.

“What’s it?” I asked from the kitchen, holding in giggles that were threatening to burst out.

“Wait, I’m coming.” He said.

“I don’t want you here,” I yelled, before putting a hand over my mouth and laughing, making sure he could not hear.

“Really?” I could see him grinning as he walked into the kitchen.

“So,” I began, glancing at him.

“Wanted to ask about something,” The smirk on his face alerted me that this wasn’t going to be easy. I was not going to like it.

“Go on,” I put on my sweetest smile to show him that I wasn’t scared of him.

“I noticed that you’ve been acting weird since I kissed you. May I know why?”

Ever since we kissed, I had not been insulting him so much, and didn’t want to be around him for long. Sometimes I found myself just staring at him. I would turn away when he caught me but before, I used to have staring contests with him. I knew he’d noticed the change but didn’t think he’d bring it up. He certainly knew how to put a girl on the spot. I was at a loss for words.

“What do you mean?” I asked, feigning ignorance and giving him my most innocent look.

“Are you going to answer or you’re too shy to?” He smiled knowingly. He was trying to tease me, but I wouldn’t give him the satisfaction of winning.

“I won’t answer,” I laughed, “But not because I’m shy or anything. I just don’t want to. Is that a problem for you, Alec? Don’t I have a right to speak or stay silent as I choose?”

“Can you prove that?” He inquired.

“What?” I raised my brows.

“That you’re not shy.”

“I don’t have to prove it. I expect you to believe everything I say.”

“And why would I?”

“Because am not a liar.”

“Are you trying say am the liar here?”

“Aren’t you?” The smile was still on my face. I was enjoying being questioned by him.

“If you won’t answer, I will guess.”

I didn’t want to hear his guess because it would be something in his favor. He would look for something he knew would make me uncomfortable, because he did like seeing me that way. Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.

“You’re allowed to guess but just in your mind ’cause I don’t want to hear it.”

“Are you telling me what to do now?” He laughed, coming closer to me.

“Yeah,” I looked up at him trying to look intimidating which was pathetic. It could never work, not at least with Alec.

“Do you want to know what I do with girls who try to order me around?”

“Nope,” I replied. “But, I’m curious.”

“Really?” He was now dangerously close to where I was standing.

I nodded.

“Guess,” He brought his hand to my cheek. I shook my head.

“You like me, don’t you?”

I laughed, really hard.

“Me?” I giggled. “I would never like you, not even in my dreams.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes,” I turned away from him but he grabbed my wrist.

“I don’t believe that but you’re attracted to me, right?”

“You’re not attractive at all,” I lied.

“Yeah right,” He sighed. “So how come you’re attracted to me, even when you think I’m not attractive?”

“Who says am attracted to you?”

“You don’t have to say it,” He moved closer until our bodies were almost touching. I could feel warmth radiating from his skin. “Should we try to prove that?”

“There’s no way you can prove because it’s only my heart that knows. You can’t enter my heart, can you?”

“I have different ways of finding out. Can I suggest them?”

“No,” His suggestions would just take me straight to hell but I can’t deny the fact that I did want to try. Anything that got me closer to Alec was welcomed but I wouldn’t let him know that.

“So what do I do?” He asked. “I badly need to know”

“You’re so funny,” I laughed, trying to mask my nervousness.

“And attractive,” He smiled as his right hand landed on my shoulder. His eyes focused on my face. I backed away.

“Okay, you are attractive. Can you leave me alone now?”

“I knew-”

“Slow down,” I cut him off. “You’re attractive but not to me.”

To avoid whatever he would say next, I touched his upper arm and walked away to my bedroom. Unfortunately, Alec followed me and I just had to let him in.

“You can’t have enough of me, right?” I teased, feeling like I was now in charge.

“I don’t want you.”

“Then why run after me? I knew you couldn’t spend even one second without me?”

“I only came because we were not done talking,” He grinned. “Don’t start getting ideas.”

“I left cause I didn’t want to talk to you and you say we weren’t done? Go away!”

“You mean that?”

“Sure.”

“Okay,” He turned to go. I realized I was going to be terribly bored without him because I had nothing to do that Saturday afternoon. Do I want to maintain my pride or have fun for now?

“Alec,” I said just before he stepped into the living room. “Please, come back.”

“What did you say?” He smirked, putting his hands in his pockets. He’d clearly heard me but being a jerk was his favorite thing.

“Please come back.”

“Say it again.”

“Please come back. I won’t repeat that. You can go if you want.”

“Please come back, who?”

“Go away,” I found myself saying.

“Okay.”

“Ugh. You’re so annoying,” I said.

“I know,” He said as he returned to me.
