Betrayal At The Altar

Chapter 275

Chapter 275

Chapter 275 What Was Her Purpose?

Lucas blinked. “It’s already not bad to have been able to find this person. To get this result, my computer was hacked!”

“Oh.”

Lucas was speechless.

At this moment, there was another knock on the apartment door.

Rachel stood up and walked over. When she saw Darcy standing at the door, she hurriedly opened the door. “Hello, Darcy.”

“Miss Grey,” Darcy greeted Rachel respectfully.

He noticed Lucas sitting on the sofa and nodded slightly. “Mr. Johnson.”

“Darcy, long time no see.” Lucas smiled and waved at him.

“Miss Grey, I specially came to deliver something to you,” Darcy said as he took out a silver combination–lock briefcase.

The briefcase was opened. Inside was a black velvet box.

Inside the box was the rare 15.10–carat rectangular step–cut blue diamond.

“Thank you,” Rachel said.

Darcy smiled. “This is what I should do.”

As he spoke, his gaze swept past the queen’s crown on the table, and then his pupils constricted slightly. “This…”

He thought, “Wasn’t this bought by the supreme member last night?

“Why is it here?

“Could it be that the man beside Miss Grey last night was the supreme member?”

Darcy lowered his head to hide the emotions in his eyes.

Rachel was afraid that Darcy would spill the beans, so she quickly explained, “My friend asked me to keep it for the time being.”

Darcy turned to look at Rachel and saw the expression on her face. A dim glint flashed in his eyes secretly. “In that case, Miss Grey, you have to take good care of it.”

He paused for a moment. “I’ll take my leave now. Take care, Miss Grey.”

After seeing Darcy off, Rachel packed up and set off for the Maple Forest

Villa District.

The Maple Forest Villa District was different from other villa districts.

Because the people living here were all political figures, the security here. was even stricter than that in high–end villa districts.

The security guard at the gate let them in immediately after seeing the pass

on Lucas’s car.

Louis had been rushing about for the company’s project that had been

suspended. He only hoped that the competent authorities could approve it. quickly.

Just as he left Chief Kandor’s villa and bent down to get into the car, he heard his assistant saying, “Mr. Smith, is that Miss Grey?”

While Louis was hearing this, his eyes suddenly widened.

He sat up straight and looked straight ahead through the gap in the front

seats.

He happened to see a black Mercedes passing their car.

One of that car’s windows was half–opened, revealing Rachel’s mesmerizing

face.

Why was Rachel here?

Louis’s eyes narrowed slightly, and his gaze was cold. “Let’s follow them and

take a look!”

He wanted to see what Rachel was up to again!

“Follow them from afar. Don’t let them discover us!”

“Yes!”

Tom’s villa was in a better location than Chief Kandor’s.

The white villa was surrounded by a small garden full of flowers. There was a

hint of warmth and liveliness amidst the coldness.

Rachel knew that this was all thanks to her aunt, Eleanor.

“Mr. Smith, isn’t that Mr. Johnson…”

Seeing Louis’s gloomy expression from the corner of his eye, the assistant

swallowed his unfinished words.

As they watched, the car door opened.

Lucas got out of the car first. Then, he walked around to the passenger seat door and opened it to let Rachel get out.

He naturally took the things from Rachel. The two of them chatted and laughed as they walked side by side toward the white villa.

Louis frowned and held the headrest of the passenger seat tightly.

Rachel had hooked up with Lucas, the son of the Johnson family, hadn’t she?

Although it was Eleanor’s birthday today, she had been busy the entire day ever since she knew that Rachel was coming.

“Remember to stew the chicken wings well. Rae–Rae likes to eat them without bones. But don’t stew them too long.

“Prepare mango pudding as dessert.

“By the way, go to the storeroom and bring that precious bottle of red wine of

mine here.”

The Page family’s heir, Charles, who had always kept a low profile, could not help but laugh when he saw his aunt Eleanor busying herself with various things. “Auntie, you’re the main character today.”

“Be good when you see Rae–Rae later.” Eleanor’s beautiful eyes were filled with warning.
