Chapter 233 Destroying The Smith Family

“What?” Mrs. Smith’s eyes widened in shock.

Even Old Mr. Smith, who was usually calm, had a trace of panic in his eyes.

The old man found it hard to breathe and his face turned pale. He grabbed his clothes tightly, frowning in pain.

“The medicine! Feed him the medicine!” Mr. Smith was the first to react. He rushed up to the old man, took out the pills for heart infarction from his pocket, and poured some into Old Mr. Smith’s mouth.

He then stroked Old Mr. Smith’s back to help him catch his breath.

After quite a while, Old Mr. Smith slowly recovered.

However, he looked like he had suddenly aged more than 10 years.

He leaned against the sofa weakly and said in a hoarse voice, “Hold a press conference now. You must admit your mistake and tell everyone that you’re willing to accept any punishment.”

Louis compressed his lips, a hint of coldness flashing across his narrowed eyes. He said coldly, “I see.”

He did not expect Rachel to do so.

For some reason, he suddenly remembered what Rachel had said to him not long ago.

“You have my word. I’ll do my best to get the Smith family back to what it was!”

Louis‘ eyes turned gloomy. He frowned and there was not the slightest warmth on his chiseled face.

He thought Rachel was just bluffing back then. It turned out that she was serious.

She really wanted to destroy the Smith family with her own hands!

Louis clenched his fists tightly and struggled to hold back his anger, veins popping out on the back of his hands.

After sending Old Mr. Smith back to his room to rest, Mrs. Smith could not help but curse, “Rachel is such a vicious woman! I didn’t expect us to fall for her trick!”

“Stop talking.” Mr. Smith sighed faintly and turned to look at Louis. “Louis, I’ll go to the office with you now.”

“Okay.”

Now, even though they were reluctant to admit their mistake, the Smith family had no choice but to lower their heads.

After they left, Mrs. Smith was left alone in the room. The more she thought about it, the angrier he became.

She felt like she was about to explode if she did not vent her anger right away. After changing her clothes quickly, she left home to find Rachel.

However, just as she reached the door, she received the court summons.

Looking at the words on it, Mrs. Smith couldn’t stop her hands from trembling.

Her legs felt so feeble that she suddenly fell to the ground.

“Madam!” The servant beside her exclaimed and rushed over to help her up.

Mrs. Smith held her hand and said, “Hurry up! Call Mr. Smith and Louis, and let them back right now!”

-Louis stayed in the office to deal with the company business. When Mr.

Smith hurried back, he saw Mrs. Smith crying herself out of breath.

“What’s going on?” Mr. Smith asked the servant beside him and found out what had happened a while later. This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.

According to the regular procedure, the entire process would take some time from the filing of the lawsuit to the summons being issued.

But Rachel’s lawyer was Adrian Johnson.

Maybe he had pulled strings and made the court speed up the process.

“Hubby, what should we do?” Mrs. Smith asked between sobs. “Jane is so young, and she’s a girl. If she really goes to jail, no man will want to marry her in the future.”

Of course, Mr. Smith knew the severity of this matter.

If they could not figure out a way, not just Jane’s, but the whole family’s reputation would be ruined.

Sitting on the sofa, Mr. Smith kept smoking. After a long time, he said in a low voice, “We must figure out a way to get Rachel to drop the lawsuit.”
