Chapter 43
"What's wrong? Does it taste bad?" Alicia asked.
Looking at his expression, Alicia picked up her fork to get one. Before she could get one, there was a "bang" sound all of a sudden. The plate was swept to the ground.
"What on earth are you up to?" Frederick yelled.
The ravioli exuded the special smell of black pepper. Frederick smashed the fork on the ground.
"Don't play tricks on me! I don't care how you know it, but even if I married you, it won't change anything!" Frederick shouted.
Then, he got up and walked to the door.
Looking at the ravioli on the ground, Alicia got very angry.
She yelled back at him, "What's wrong with you? If you don't like it, you can choose not to eat it! Why are you doing this? You are despicable!"
Frederick strode out of the door.
Alicia felt aggrieved when she crouched down. She burst into tears. There was only a plate of ravioli with shrimps. She didn't eat any of them, and yet he had ruined them all!

As she picked them up, her heart was bleeding. She had chosen the best shrimps because she wanted the best for him. It cost more than 50 dollars. It was
just as much as her food expenses for a week!
After cleaning up the mess, Alicia walked to the trash can. Suddenly, there was a violent bang from the door and she trembled.
"He's gone?" she wondered.
Why was he angry all of a sudden? Had he gone mad?
Alicia couldn't figure it out. She couldn't help but feel wronged.
What on earth was she up to? Did he think that she wanted a higher position or money? She just wanted to thank him for his gift and wanted to cook something delicious for him!
She didn't say anything to him and yet, he had already thought so badly about her!
Putting away the dirty ravioli, Alicia swallowed her tears and mumbled, "If you don't want to eat it, then don't! What a waste!"
When she returned to her seat and ate the cold ravioli with no shrimp in it, she couldn't help but feel sad in her heart.
She was really disappointed! Had she known earlier, she would have eaten them by herself!
That night, Frederick didn't return. Alicia was so angry that she didn't sleep well either!
The next morning, she cooked the rest of the ravioli and ate them. As soon as her colleague called, she hurried off to work. Frederick returned right after she went out.
Frederick was not in a good mood. When he went back to his room and changed his clothes, he was still unhappy. Along the way, he was thinking about how to avoid her and not to talk to her. However, he found that she was not around when he entered the room.
He looked at the time and thought that she might be in the kitchen. Hence, he changed his clothes quickly.
When he got downstairs, he headed to the dining area. He stood at the door for a moment.
He gave out a fake cough, "Ahem..."
Unexpectedly, there was no response either. He quickly walked in, but there was no one there. Then, he went to the kitchen again. There was nobody in sight.
"She has left?" he wondered.
Why was she gone so early?
He turned around and was about to leave when he saw the plate on the table. There were several ravioli in it, and one of them was cut in half.
It seemed that she was in such a hurry that she didn't even have the time to wash the plate.
Frederick fixed his gaze and noticed that the ravioli on the plate were flatter than the ones the previous night. There was no shrimp in it at all!
He narrowed his eyes, and his mood became worse. She really did that intentionally!
