Chapter 281
Chapter 281
Visibly intrigued. Taylor asked excitedly. “So, you’re really going to divorce Jerome? I thought you were
just saying.”
Well, he definitely seemed enthusiastic to join the gossip.
Mikayla rolled her eyes and ignored him.
The Thay restaurant they were headed to was quite far. It took them nearly an hour to arrive at their NôvelDrama.Org holds © this.
destination.
Mikayla grumbled, “Why do we have to come so far for Thay cuisine? You might as well fly to Thayan
Instead,”
“You’re making a lot of sense,” Taylor mused. “Do you have your passport with you? Let’s book a flight to
Thayan now.”
Mikayla was rendered speechless.
The Thay restaurant might be far, but its ambiance was idyllic. She was greeted with a rich sense of exotic charm the moment she stepped into the restaurant. They climbed up the stairs, and Taylor picked
a seat near the veranda.
The veranda was adorned with a vast diversity of plants. It was enclosed by fences into separate spaces, giving a sense of tranquility amidst the bustle of flowers.
Taylor excused himself for a phone call after they both ordered their food. Mikayla went on WhatsApp. To her dismay, Jerome had yet to reply to her. She tried calling him, but she couldn’t get through.
She tossed her phone to the table. Her gaze wandered aimlessly downstairs, and she was surprised when she spotted a familiar silhouette. It was Jensen..
He was driving an extremely lavish, gold luxury car. The smugness on his face was tangible as he handed his keys over to the valet. His companions huddled around him as they strode into the restaurant.
Jensen seemed very pleased with himself. Mikayla stifled a laugh, knowing that his delight wouldn’t last any longer.
He just closed a mobile deal recently, and it was the talk of the town. Its popularity soared even higher. when Taylor boosted its publicity intentionally.
Yet, this project was problematic/It wouldn’t take long for them to go bankrupt. Kylie’s funds would go down the drain by then, and they would even get involved in a lawsuit.
Taylor happened to catch the smirk dancing on her lips as he returned. The light illuminated her porcelain features perfectly, highlighting the cunning glint in her eyes. She resembled a fox.
“Ms. Davidson, I’d advise you to refrain from smiling like that in front of a man. A man without any self- control will surely fall head over heels for you,” he teased.
Mikayla glared at him. “If you behaved, people wouldn’t think you’re a useless scion.”

Unfazed, Taylor chortled. “Why should I let them know? It’s more than enough that you know how capable
I am.”
Mikayla was at a loss for words.
Taylor sat down across from her. “It’s been a while since we’ve known each other. Since we have some time to spare today, care to tell me why you fancied Jerome in the first place?”
“I’d gladly share my personal matters with you if you’re that interested. But can you tell me what’s the feud
between you and Jerome in return.
Mikayla inquired, “Both of you are acting like you’re each other’s arch–nemesis. Not only are you
competing aggressively with him in the business industry, but you were also ruthless in the car collision
last time.”
Taylor glanced over at her. The mischievous glint in his eyes vanished and was replaced by disdain.
“In your dreams. Don’t try to pry stuff that Jerome doesn’t tell you from me.”
“Is it because of a woman?” Mikayla began guessing. “Your old crush had feelings for Jerome, so you
resent him?”
Taylor’s expression turned sour. “Stop. That’s disgusting. Are we even that close? Don’t you have respect for other people’s privacy?”
Mikayla was dumbfounded. He was one to talk when he clearly started this.
She was struggling for words when her phone rang. It was Jerome.
