Chapter 430 I Heard You Are Looking For Me
Chapter 430 I Heard You Are Looking For Me
And even Moore seemed confused and was trying to say something. But he merely shook his head.
Seeing him shake his head, Jean looked at Zed, full of doubt and confusion.
As she saw Zed's complicated expression seemed to explain something to her, she asked,"Zed, do you
have something to say?"
Since she had asked him now, Zed let out a deep breath and replied,"I received Henry Wen's call at
noon. I don't know why, but he was looking for you."
That was why Zed woke up so early at noon.
Jean was sound asleep and didn't hear the call at all. So Zed got up and took it.
"Henry Wen? What was he calling for, I wonder?" Jean asked unpleasantly. Her face had darkened on
hearing the name.
"He saw the newspaper this morning and came to know that Shirley had been arrested." Zed sighed.
"So, was he accusing me of falsely blaming Shirley?" Jean asked, looking at Zed with a serious face.
Zed paused for a moment and nodded,"Yes, you are right. He was saying why you sent Shirley to jail?"
"Haha, that's funny." Jean laughed sarcastically but also shuddered all over. "I sent her to jail? ME?
Does he really think I have that kind of pull with the authorities? Zed, I have got to go to the hospital!"
Jean immediately stopped speaking and was just about to walk outside.
Zed grabbed her hand, looked at her angry face and sighed. "I have been discussing it with Moore and
we knew that you will definitely go to see him. And even though I also feel furious about Henry
accusing you, saying things like that, and want to teach him a lesson, he is still a patient right now and
he is your father, Jean.
He is really pissed about Shirley being in jail. You can't just go confront him right now at such a critical
moment. I know you won't let him wrong you, but you have just recovered from last night's adventures.
I really can't let you fly into a rage once again."
"Zed, what are you afraid of?" Jean laughed bitterly and assured him,"Don't worry. I am not going to lay
a single finger on that man no matter how angry I get. Henry is worried about Shirley being in jail, and I
have to use this chance to elaborate Shirley's crimes."
Jean put on a sly smile.
"Jean, do you mean..." Moore asked, looking both horrified and impressed.
Zed also smiled, and gave her an approving nod. "If that is the case, then I'll go with you."
"No, Zed. You shouldn't go and meet Henry even with Jean at this moment!" Moore was worried about
him now.
"Moore, don't worry about me," Jean hurriedly said. "Shirley was just arrested. She wouldn't have
confessed her crimes in just a night. The newspaper this morning has just reported her arrest but not
why she was arrested. Henry doesn't know that his son Winner died because of her daughter Shirley.
And he blames me for sending her to jail! I need to have a good conversation with him about Shirley's
crimes. He should know the truth, or he will try every possible means to get Shirley out!"
Jean explained with a smirk on her face.
"So that's your plan." Moore was impressed by her cleverness and nodded approvingly. "Good. Then I
guess I don't have to worry about him wronging you."
"I'm not afraid of him, Moore. I just don't want him to live so peacefully. If he is angry right now, then let
him be angrier," Jean said, like a naughty child.
"Jean, now that I see your naughty side, I fear about Henry!" Moore laughed. "If Henry gets to know
that you are going to bother him so late at night, he is going to faint out of rage. So, take it easy when
you are in the hospital. He can't stand the brawl as he is already half dead."
Zed warned her with a discreet face after they settled inside the car.
"Don't worry! Henry Wen is like a cockroach with a strong vitality and skeleton. He is not going to die so
easily!" Jean was confident about it.
Zed glanced at her, knowing that he couldn't stop her and shook his head helplessly.
It would seem that Henry Wen was bound to suffer quite a fate that night!
Their car gracefully moved into the parking lot inside the garage of the hospital.
After they had exited the car, Zed grabbed Jean's hand, walked towards the elevator and headed
straight to the in-patient department.
There were very few people in the corridor since it was late at night and they walked around almost
unnoticed due to the scarcity of visitors.
Before they knew it, they were at the door of Henry's room. Jean knocked once and entered before
Henry could even say 'come in'.
Inside the room, he was lying on the bed lost in some deep thought. Seeing them come in, he sat up
and stared at them in fury. Before he could fly into an incontrollable rage, Jean spoke,"I heard that you
were looking for me, father?" The term 'father' had an unusual tinge on it, as if spat out in a bitter sense
of hatred.
She walked towards Henry, examining his face and sighing deliberately. "His dear daughter is in jail
now, but blimey, Mr. Wen does not seem to be affected at all. He looks good! Is he about to leave the
hospital?" Jean pondered out loud.
Zed tried to hold himself from laughing out loud as he heard the sarcastic tone Jean was utilizing in
order to provoke Henry to his maximum, and succeeding beautifully at it.
She seemed to be getting better and better at confronting people everyday.
As they had expected, Henry's anger mounted a new high as soon as he heard her tone. With a dark
face, he stared at Jean and shouted in fury,"You devilish monster, you got your sister into jail. Why did
the Wen family ever have a daughter like you, you cold-blooded, bastard beast?"
"Beast?" Jean finally adopted a serious, angry voice of her own,"I advise you to mind your tone and
words. If I really am a beast, then what does that make you? I am your daughter, remember? And
Henry Wen, I know that you have always favored Shirley over me. And now, I also know just how
stupid and ignorant you are, and even you have no idea just how much! Shirley sought every possible
means to try and extort a hundred million dollars from the Wen Group. And you Henry Wen, you didn't
even react and just let her be?" ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
"Why would I have wasted my time in trying to stop her? The Wen Group is going to be hers sooner or
later," Henry replied angrily.
"See now you're telling the truth!" Jean retorted in even more anger,"Henry, when the Wen Group was
destined to pass over to Shirley, why did you ever arrange for me to be CEO earlier? Why not choose
her?" Jean asked in a deliberately surprised tone.
She was laughing in her mind though, 'The old fox finally reveals his tricks now!'
"Do you think the Wen Group would have pulled through such a delicate time without the name of
Mr.Qi's wife behind it? It was for the company's good, or I wouldn't even have talked to you at that
time!" Henry hummed a cold laugh and spit out the truth, as if there was no point in hiding the truth
anymore.
"So that is the truth, isn't it?" Jean replied. "Darling, now I realize how privileged I am to have been
married to you. Just the mention of your name brought a new life into a company which was right on
the verge of bankruptcy!"
Jean looked at Zed, pretending to be womanly and coy.
Zed gazed at Jean with soft eyes and said,"Now that you know how powerful I am, you don't have to
worry about anything when you want to do something to the Wen Group. No one will dare bat an
eyelid!"
Zed was talking to Jean directly, but indirectly, he was threatening Henry.
Upon hearing his thinly veiled threat, Henry flew into a rage and stared furiously at Zed. "I have no
grudges with you, you mad-man. Why the hell do you poke your nose into the business of the Wen
Group?"
"Because you hurt my wife and made her angry. That means you've made me angry!" Zed replied
sternly, staring at him with cold, dark eyes which were full of a clear threat.
