Arrogant Man VS Unyielding Woman

Chapter 265 Coma Because of Poor Health

Chapter 265 Coma Because of Poor Health

"I am telling you for the last time, it was not me, " exclaimed Jesse. Her expression turned cold as she

had run out of patience. She did not want to argue about this with Eva any longer.

'What the hell is wrong with this woman? How dare she yell at me like this?

Damn it, people around will think that I am bullying her.

But I did nothing wrong.'

With a sneer, Jesse glanced at Eva, "Watch your mouth! And if you don't stop talking nonsense

immediately, I'll destroy you!"

"You dare to threaten me?" Eva replied with an angry look. There was no way that she was ready to

take the blame for others. But seeing that Jesse was about to get mad, Eva realized that it was not

prudent to continue shouting at Jesse. She didn't think that she could afford to provoke Jesse's wrath.

However, she still had to warn Jesse, "Jesse Tang, you refuse to confess now, but wait and see. Your

actions will come to light sooner or later, and when they do, you'll regret what you said today!"

With a sneer Jesse said, "Let's wait and see."

After throwing a hateful glance at her, Eva turned and walked toward her car.

"Wait, " said Jesse suddenly. Eva stopped as she reached for the car door. When she turned, Eva saw

the threatening look Jesse was giving her. Then she heard Jesse say, "I'll get even with you if I find you

tailing me again."

Eva glared back at Jesse. She was so furious that her body trembled.

Upon seeing Eva's reaction, Jesse smiled. She had been in a foul mood ever since she had left Zed's

office. But Eva's scorn-filled expression gave Jesse a sense of satisfaction. With a smile on her face,

Jesse opened the door of her car and got into it. She left the parking lot in a better mood than when

she had arrived.

"Damn it!" Eva screamed as she slammed the door angrily. "You're gonna get what's coming to you

soon! There is no way that you're gonna be with Zed. Jesse Tang, not even in your wildest dreams!"

After that, she slipped into her car, turned the ignition, and slammed her foot on the gas.

In the hospital, Jean stirred. Three bottles of dextrose solution had been pumped into her body through

intravenous fluids before Jean recovered. She wasn't feeling as dizzy as before.

She stretched herself and tried hard to open her eyes slowly. Back when she was taking the infusion,

she was too weak to stay awake, and so she rested during that time. Jean felt much better now.

Just as Jean managed to sit upright on the bed, there was a knock at the door.

'Did Moore also finish his infusion?'

When Jean thought this, a smile appeared on her face. She said, "Please come in."

The door opened quickly and Calvin rushed in. His expression conveyed the anxiety that he was

feeling.

"Calvin, you……" Jean was stunned. Her mind went blank for a few seconds. Meanwhile, Calvin

walked toward her in a hurry. When her mind cleared, Jean asked, "Why are you here?"

"Maranda told me. ……" Calvin fixed his eyes on her pale face and felt ashamed of himself. Now that

he was standing in front of Jean, he couldn't control the emotions that were flowing through him. "Did

you faint because of the video?"

"How do you know about it already?" cried Jean softly in surprise. Awkwardness flooded her and she

bowed her head and said, "I'm sorry to have gotten you into trouble. I was the only target in the

beginning, but unfortunately, you and Ron now suffer the same fate as me..."

"Please stop saying things like that. Look at you. You poor thing! Why are you still worried about us?"

Calvin couldn't help feeling sorry for Jean. "Now that you know that you are the target you have to be

stronger. Don't faint because of anger. Find the courage to fight back next time!"

"I......" Jean wanted to exclaim loudly, 'I didn't, '

But she did not. She figured arguing about this was pointless given the situation.

"Well, do you have nothing to say?" Looking at her expression, Calvin could gauge what Jean was

worrying about. After a sigh, he tried to console her, "Just take good care of yourself and I'll take care

of the rest."

"What?" asked a bewildered Jean. She fixed her eyes on Calvin. Upon studying his serious demeanor,

she knew that he meant it. She could even tell what he was about to do as well. She shook her head

hastily, and tried to stop him. "Calvin, I know you are good to me. But you mustn't show up at this time,

otherwise...... otherwise......"

Jean hemmed and hawed as she tried to come up with a reason to convince him.

"Otherwise Zed will misunderstand if I defend you. Is this what you are worrying about?" asked Calvin.

Since he could gauge what she was thinking, it saved Jean a lot of trouble to explain. Calvin had

finished her words for her.

Jean stared at Calvin in shock once again. Then she smiled at him out of embarrassment.

'Well, things have gotten out of control now. My identity as Zed's wife must have been searched by the Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.

powerful netizens already!'

"No." With a quick shake of her head, Jean replied, "It's just, if you show up in public and defend me,

isn't it the equivalent of proving that the video is true? After that, there will be no way for us to deny it."

"A straight foot is not afraid of a crooked shoe. I will only tell the truth." replied Calvin. He seemed quite

determined.

"Telling the truth might have been useful before, but not now. This is the Internet age, and you have no

idea how powerful netizens can be. It's really hard to change people's minds once they see something

online. They believe it to be true, " explained Jean, with a wry smile on her face.

Calvin said nothing as he mulled over what Jean had said. He thought Jean was reasonable for

thinking of this.

'There is no benefit from my stepping forward to clarify what happened in the video. Someone may

even take advantage of this, and make things worse.

She is now in such poor health. It would be too much for her if there is a new problem. She would not

be able to take it.'

After much contemplation and rationalization, Calvin looked at Jean helplessly, "Who have you

offended? They are quite intent on hurting you, no? This time they seem to have done a thorough job

of ruining your reputation. You are so vulnerable now. Besides, you are too weak to burden yourself like

this. Just keep yourself at peace. Things are gonna work out eventually, " said Calvin. He tried to

remain positive for Jean's benefit.

"Thank you so much for saying that, Calvin." Jean did not expect that Calvin would come to visit her

and comfort her even though he had only met her a few times before.

But her husband, Zed......

As she compared the behavior of the two men, the sharp contrast between them became more

obvious. She couldn't help feeling hurt. However, she didn't want to upset Calvin. So she tried her best

to address him with a smile, "Now, I am cursing myself for having fainted. How could I faint at such a

time? Otherwise......"

"Otherwise what? Were you gonna find the person who had hurt you and fight back? Perhaps that's the

best way forward. I'm not sure though. For now, the most important thing for you to do is to recover.

And then it will be your turn to fight back." said Calvin playfully. He liked seeing Jean smile and he

wanted to comfort and reassure her during this challenging time.

"Okay!" said Jean with a firm nod. "You're right. The truth will come to light sooner or later and I'll clear

my name then."

'But, I may not be with Zed when that happens. And I bet that is exactly what the culprit wants!'

As she thought about this, Jean couldn't help feeling bitter. Her earlier enthusiasm had morphed into a

sad expression.

As Calvin had been studying Jean, he could see that her face had paled. He figured out what she was

thinking. It was not that surprising that this incident would damage her relationship with Zed. After a

sigh, he waved his hand to catch her attention before he said, "Didn't I just tell you not to overthink?

Why are you so rebellious?"

He said those words in a doting manner, as if Jean were a disobedient child.

Jean couldn't help blushing from shame. "I'll try."

Despite her outward appearance, Jean was shocked. 'Why does Calvin seem to be so different?

He not only comforts me, but also talks with me in such a relaxed tone, Which makes me feel as

though he and I have been close friends for years.'

"Don't just try. Reassure yourself that everything will work out. Jean, if you don't take good care of your

own body, who else will? It is up to each one of us to care for ourselves. So remember, your health

comes first no matter what. Do not spoil your body because of anyone or anything."

"But I..... I did not......" Jean tried explaining. "I've suffered from anemia ever since I was a child. I'm

quite used to it now. It is no big deal at all."

"You fainted because of poor health. And you say this is because of something that you've suffered

ever since you were a child? How can you not take it seriously?"

Asked Calvin as he frowned at Jean in concern.
