“It’s all right. I’m okay now. I’ll come over now since I have nothing to do at home anyway!” Nelly’s voice was tinged with a hint of growl, her werewolf nature evident in her words.
“Oh, okay. We’ll wait for you then!” Ross’s voice filled with excitement, a wolfish anticipation in his tone.
After ending the call, Nelly swiftly changed into her clothes, her movements quick and controlled like a predator preparing for a hunt. She applied simple makeup, accentuating her natural beauty, and she was ready to depart.
Meanwhile, Tony tirelessly cleaned up the living hall, his senses sharpened like that of a wolf on alert.
Upon seeing Nelly all dressed up, he asked, his voice laced with concern, “Are you going out, Nelly?”
“Yeah. I have to get back to the office,” Nelly replied, a confident and determined air in her voice.
Tony furrowed his brow, worry etched on his face. “But your injury-”
Nelly’s smile was sharp and feral. “I feel better now, don’t worry. Besides, I’m tired of staying at home. A trip to the office could make me feel better.”
Tony nodded reluctantly, his wolf instincts telling him to protect her at all costs. “Alright then!”
“Where’s Great-grandpa?” Nelly questioned, her voice filled with authority.
“He went out to do grocery shopping and should be back soon!” Tony informed with respect.
“Tell him not to worry about me. I’ll be back soon,” Nelly commanded, her alpha presence undeniable.
Tony nodded, acknowledging her dominance. “Okay.”Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!
Nelly soon arrived at Prosper Technologies, her presence commanding attention. Everyone in the office, with their tired and weary eyes, snapped to attention as they caught sight of her, like a pack recognizing their alpha.
They instantly surrounded her, their voices eager and full of reverence. “You’re back, Ms. Jackson!”
“How are you? Do you feel better now, Ms. Jackson?”
“Ms. Jackson, the office without you was boring as hell!”
Nelly was surprised by their enthusiastic response, not used to being the center of attention. However, their admiration brought her a sense of satisfaction.
Ross, still a bundle of nerves, immediately sprang from his seat upon hearing Nelly’s arrival. He dashed across the office towards her, extending his hands in a gesture of embrace. “You’re back, Ms. Wealthy!”
But Chris swiftly pulled him back, his alpha instincts controlling the situation.
Chris looked at Nelly, his voice holding authority. “Boss, why did you come back? Do you feel better now?”
Nelly hesitated for a moment, her werewolf nature seeking for dominance. Before she could answer his question, Ross tried to catch her attention, their eyes locked in a silent conversation.
Chris followed her line of sight, his gaze landing on Ross. “You called her?”
Ross knew the truth would come to light sooner or later. He let out an awkward chuckle and replied, “Yes, I did call Ms. Jackson, but I didn’t expect her to come back so soon-”
Chris’s expression turned stern, his wolfish demeanor overpowering. He rolled his eyes at Ross before turning his attention back to Nelly. “We can handle the project ourselves, Boss. You should get enough rest-”
Nelly’s gaze held a hint of challenge as she looked at Chris, her alpha instincts asserting dominance. “I’m fine!”
“But-”
“Relax. I won’t put my health in jeopardy for work. I cherish my life more than anything!” Nelly’s voice held a command that left no room for argument.
Chris was slightly convinced by her dominant presence.
“Yeah, that’s right. We can’t be asking Ms. Jackson to go home since she’s already here. I’m sure she misses the food in our cafeteria too, right? I’ll buy her lunch later!” Ross interjected, adopting a submissive role in her presence.
Nelly grinned, her sharp teeth glinting in the light. “I’ll take your word for it!”
“You have my word! Your lunch is on me!” Ross tapped his chest confidently.
Nelly couldn’t help but let out a predatory laugh, her wolfish nature in full display.
“Come, please follow me!” Ross’s voice shifted into one of obedience and respect, as if addressing the alpha of their pack.
Nelly suddenly remembered something, her mind sharp and alert. She turned to the receptionist and commanded, “Oh, I ordered one hundred sets of breakfast. The deliveryman should arrive soon. I’ll need your help to distribute them to everyone.”
The crowd’s eyes brightened in surprise and gratitude, their wolfish hunger eager to be satisfied.
The office erupted with voices expressing gratitude. “Aw, you shouldn’t have done it…”
“When I was in the hospital, a few of you represented the office to visit me, and I’m grateful for that. This breakfast set is my way of saying thank you to all of you.”
“All right, Ms. Jackson. Thank you!”
“Don’t mention it!” Nelly’s voice held a hint of dominance before she walked in with Chris and Ross by her side, leading her pack.
Together, they arrived at a tiny conference room, the space becoming their den for a brief moment. Tommy, with his disheveled hair and frustrated manner, seemed on the verge of losing control.
The moment they stepped into the room, they heard Tommy’s distressed mutterings. “No, no, no, no, no. This project will fail for sure if we do that. Before we can make it, I might die from overwork. But I can’t think of a better solution!”
Nelly glanced at Tommy, her eyes sharp and predatory, before turning her attention to Chris and Tommy.
Ross’s face fell, his voice filled with desperation. “Did you see that, Ms. Jackson? I didn’t want to call you, but look at Tommy…”
Nelly noticed the disheveled appearances of the three men, their unkempt beards portraying their shared struggle.
She walked over, her presence commanding attention. Tommy’s eyes lifted to meet hers, finding it hard to believe what he was seeing. “M-Ms. Jackson? Is that you? Am I hallucinating? Am I experiencing terminal lucidity before death?”
His mumbling continued, mixed with disbelief and desperation. “No, no, no, no, no. I can’t be thinking about Ms. Jackson right now. Focus, Tommy. Focus…” He shook his head, on the verge of giving up.
But before he could leave the conference room, he saw Chris and Ross standing right behind Nelly with an air of submission.
Tommy froze, his gaze locked on Nelly. His mind reeled, struggling to accept the reality before him. “No, I can’t do this anymore. This hallucination has gotten the better of me. I can’t believe I’m seeing Ms. Jackson here. That’s it. I can’t deal with this anymore.”
Ross turned to Nelly, a sense of urgency in his tone. “You see that, Ms. Wealthy? Now you know why I had to call you?”
Nelly nodded, her werewolf nature asserting dominance even in this moment of confusion and disbelief.
