Alpha King’s pregnant Ex-Luna

Several minutes later, Dan returned, his gaze meeting Alpha King Larry’s. His voice carried a tinge of trepidation as he delivered his news. “The nurse informed me that Ms. Jackson was discharged this morning.”

“Discharged?” Alpha King Larry’s expression instantly turned grim, his wolfish features becoming more prominent.

“She hasn’t fully recovered. How can they simply let her go?” Alpha King Larry’s mind raced, suspicions rising. “Do you think that old geezer took her and the great-grandchildren away to keep them from me?”

Dan chuckled, the sound bearing a hint of amusement. “No, Alpha King Larry. You’ve known Old Mr. Jackson for years. If he had such intentions, he would have acted long ago. Why now?”

Despite Dan’s reassurance, Alpha King Larry remained uneasy. He swiftly pulled out his phone, dialing a number in haste. As the call connected, Alpha King Larry breathed a sigh of relief.

It didn’t take long for Alpha Wade to answer, his impatience evident in his voice. “What’s the matter?”

“Alpha Wade, how dare you ask me that? Nelly is not fully recovered yet you let her leave the hospital!” Alpha King Larry’s voice carried a mix of anger and frustration.

“I made that decision because she is my granddaughter. It’s none of your concern,” Alpha Wade retorted, his tone defiant. Though he too was reluctant, he felt a need to retaliate against Alpha King Larry’s confrontational approach.

Angrily, Alpha King Larry shot back. “Are you such an ingrate?”

“You should focus on your own grandson instead of meddling with my granddaughter,” Alpha Wade responded coolly.

Before Alpha King Larry could retort, a youthful male voice sounded from the background, cutting Alpha Wade’s words short. “Nelly, get some rest. I’ll take care of everything.”

The voice struck a chord deep within Alpha King Larry, causing his brows to furrow. “Who is at your house?”

“It’s none of your business. If there’s nothing else, I’ll end this call,” Alpha Wade replied, abruptly ending the conversation before Alpha King Larry could respond.

Alpha King Larry’s mind raced, piecing together the puzzle. He immediately recalled the young man who had visited the hospital recently.

Alpha Wade truly does not give up.

With determination in his eyes, Alpha King Larry turned on his heels, ready to leave.

“Where are you going, Alpha King Larry?” Dan followed closely behind.

“To Alpha Wade’s house!”

“Are we not going to see Mr. Alpha Kilian?” Dan questioned, uncertain of their change of plans.

Alpha King Larry paused, his mind juggling priorities. With a sigh, he turned back, his path now directed towards his grandson’s ward.

Inside the room, Alpha Kilian lay fast asleep. However, even as a light sleeper, he was roused by the commotion from the door, opening his eyes to find Alpha King Larry entering with a somber expression.

“Grandpa?” Alpha Kilian inquired, his voice heavy with sleep.

“You fool, how can you still waste time sleeping?” Alpha King Larry couldn’t hold back his frustration any longer, criticizing his grandson upon entering the ward.

Alpha Kilian, visibly exhausted from days spent watching over Nelly, met his grandfather’s gaze earnestly. “What’s wrong? Who has angered you now?”Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

“Did you know Nelly got discharged from the hospital?” Alpha King Larry’s voice laced with disappointment.

Alpha Kilian’s eyes widened in surprise, an abrupt change to his sleepy state. “She was discharged? When?”

“While you were sleeping, a certain man was showering her with affection at home!” Alpha King Larry scoffed at Alpha Kilian’s ignorant expression.

Alpha Kilian narrowed his eyes, contemplating this revelation. Perhaps he had gone too far yesterday. After all, they had even shared breakfast this morning. Yet, she was discharged.

“During my phone call with Alpha Wade, I heard him-it was Alpha Zachary,” Alpha King Larry added, bringing further clarity to the situation.

Alpha Kilian’s lips curled up slightly at the mention of Alpha Zachary’s name.

“You’re still smiling despite all of this? There will come a day when that man succeeds in winning Nelly over, and you will regret it!” Alpha King Larry fumed, his anger palpable.

Undeterred, Alpha Kilian met his grandfather’s gaze head-on. “Grandpa, do you lack confidence in me or do you have too much confidence in him?”

“I have never had confidence in you!” Alpha King Larry’s words were harsh, delivered without mercy.

Alpha Kilian was left speechless.

In all his years, Alpha King Larry was perhaps the only person who could roast his own kin so ruthlessly.

“Am I even your biological grandson?” Alpha Kilian’s question hung in the air, a sense of frustration creeping into his voice.

Alpha King Larry retorted sharply, the words biting. “Sometimes, I wonder if I held the wrong grandchild in my arms all those years ago.” The clash of their personalities made it difficult for Alpha King Larry to find common ground with his grandson.

Alpha Kilian’s voice held a trace of resignation as he stared back at his grandfather. “Grandpa, have you heard of the Lucas family?”

“The Lucas family?” Alpha King Larry questioned, his impatience showing through.

“They are the owners of Lucas Corporation.”

Alpha King Larry frowned, his memory jolting. “I’ve heard of them. Their businesses mostly operate overseas, only recently expanding locally. But since our families have no dealings, I don’t know much about them.”

Alpha Kilian’s lips curled into a smile, his voice confident. “Alpha Zachary is the second son of Desmond Lucas from Lucas Corporation.”

“Second son? I recall hearing that he had only one son who had a car accident and became paralyzed a few years back…” Alpha King Larry trailed off, realization hitting him. “A bastard child?”

Alpha Kilian nodded in affirmation.

“With Lucas Corporation facing financial troubles, Desmond wants to acknowledge his son so he can gain financial support through a marriage with the Lenoir family,” Alpha Kilian explained calmly.

“Alpha Zachary is going to marry someone from our family? But I haven’t heard anything about this,” Alpha King Larry expressed, his surprise evident.

A sly smirk danced across Alpha Kilian’s face. “Who would dare spread such news before anything is confirmed?”

“You’re acting nonchalant because you know about this? Let me remind you, even if that’s the case, it doesn’t mean you have a chance. Alpha Zachary might still win Nelly’s heart!” Alpha King Larry warned, his frustration mounting.

Alpha Kilian narrowed his eyes, amusement flickering within them. “Zachary’s mother is a heartless woman. She has always wanted him to return to the Lucas family and inherit their wealth officially. It would be strange if she allowed Alpha Zachary to do as he pleases.”

A sense of delight infused Alpha Kilian’s voice as he continued, his conviction evident. “And you know too little about Nelly. She would never be with Zachary.”
