Extra Chapter Theodore's Story
Three years had passed in the blink of an eye. Theodore was released from prison. Time seemed
neither long nor short. On the day before his release, he had specifically instructed the guards not to let
anyone come to pick him up. He was too proud to let anyone see him in such a sorry state.
He got into a taxi and headed home.
The city had changed a lot over the past three years. Oscar never failed to impress him, and Northfield
thrived under his leadership. As he drove through familiar streets, Theodore caught sight of Little
Bunny's advertisement on a massive electronic screen. He smiled slightly at the thought of how well
she must be doing these days before turning away and letting go of any further thoughts about her.
The taxi soon arrived at its destination, and Theodore walked into his villa.
As soon as he opened the door, to his surprise, he found everything was clean inside as if someone
else had lived there recently. That was thanks to high-end housekeeping services available in this
upscale neighbourhood, he thought. He didn't want any dust or dirt after just being released from
prison; it would have been too much for him emotionally speaking.
He went straight into the bedroom and turned on the shower faucet without hesitation. Finally, he was
able to take an unrestricted shower after so long behind bars. Theodore took quite some time washing
thoroughly until he felt completely clean again. Then he looked at himself in front of a mirror. In his
eyes, he was ugly with a buzz-cut hairdo with a dark skin tone plus some stubble here and there. He
grabbed his razor blade, which seemed brand new as if no one ever used it before. After shaving off all
facial hair cleanly, he also dried his hair and changed into a clean robe. Everything in his room looked
new, for which Theodore even wanted to praise the housekeeping service staff members in person.
After finishing up his hygiene routines, Theodore went straight towards the kitchen area, where there
were fresh juices stored inside the refrigerator compartment labelled with today's date indicating when
they were freshly squeezed.
This small detail warmed up Theodore's heart. He then poured himself a cup of juice and came back to
the sofa to watch TV. He didn't have much time to watch TV when he was in jail, only when it was lunch
or dinner time. That was the first time he had felt contented already due partly because of having
access once more to watching TV freely without restrictions.
Theodore switched channels randomly until finding something interesting enough worth watching then
fell asleep shortly thereafter.
When he got up from the couch, it was dark outside. And he saw someone busy in his kitchen and
smelled the aroma of food, which he was familiar with. He followed the full food flavour to the kitchen.
The cook seemed to greet him respectfully, "Mr Wold, did I wake you up?"
"I woke up hungry," Theodore said, "Are you the housekeeper?"
"Yes, sir, dinner will be ready soon."
Theodore nodded. Then he sat at the dining table and waited. He was so hungry that he salivated at
the smell of food wafting through his nose.
Fortunately, it didn't take long before dish after dish of delicious cuisine was placed in front of him.
Theodore took a bite and tears almost fell from his eyes. Suddenly he felt that life was worth living
again. He ate quite a lot and even drank some beer.
When Theodore was full and satisfied, he asked, "How do I let your boss know that I'm very satisfied
with your service?"
"It's my honour to satisfy you, sir." Said the housekeeper humbly.
"In future, I'll request you to provide me with housekeeping services."
"Thank you, Mr Wold, I will try my best to do better."
Theodore nodded then left the dining table to sit on the couch again while holding onto the remote
control and watching TV. When he thought about whether or not to call Oscar, something caught his
attention on screen-Little Bunny was receiving an award at an awards ceremony for Best Actress
presented by Addison Chasey. They looked like a perfect couple on the screen. Theodore's heart still
hurt when seeing them together but couldn't help but continue watching.
Addison transitioned into directing films. And as a new director, he presented the trophy to Little Bunny.
When they were standing together on the stage, the audience made some noise while the host joked
with them.
Theodore wondered if they had taken their relationship out in the open. But then he persuaded himself
into their relationship with a reason that being in an open relationship would harm their popularity.
After Little Bunny and Addison hugged each other, she started delivering her acceptance speech. She
began, " I didn't expect to win the Best Actress award. After being nominated so many times, this was
the most relaxing time, but I didn't expect a surprise. Here, I would like to express my special gratitude
to the organizers, the director, producer, screenwriter, and staff of the film, as well as to my agent and
Mr Chasey, who is beside me."
As soon as she mentioned Addison, there was an uproar from the audience. Theodore was still
watching the award show. When the camera faced Addison, tenderness could be seen in his eyes
while he was looking at Little Bunny.
"When I was hesitant to take on this movie, it was Mr Chasey who gave me advice to break through
myself. During the filming, he kept giving me confidence and encouragement, thank you." Little Bunny
smiled gratefully at Addison.
At that moment, Theodore seemed to let go of something in his heart. As long as she was happy now,
at least it was worth what he had done.
"At last, there is someone, in particular, I want to thank, someone the most important in my life,
someone I miss so much..."
Before Little Bunny finished her words, Theodore changed the channel. He thought those moving
acceptance speeches all stuck to the scripts. Anyway, he had got what he wanted to know-Little Bunny
was living well.
Later, Theodore chose a movie and exchanged messages with Oscar and Manuel while watching it.
Not until now did he know that Manuel was in the Capital working as Oscar's right-hand man, while
Hannah stayed in Kensbury and took care of the business things of the city here. Theodore admitted
that he admired Oscar, who was as cunning as a fox since he had got Hannah back by his side in the
end, although Theodore didn't know what Oscar paid for that. Anyway, Theodore also learned that NôvelDrama.Org: owner of this content.
Hannah was pregnant again and they were currently looking for a successor for the business in
Kensbury. And it happened to be the date when he was released from prison. Theodore believed that
Oscar always predicted the whole thing in the future, with everyone included.
After chatting with his two buddies for a while, Theodore went back to his bedroom as he finished
watching the movie. When he lay on his comfortable bed, he had a feeling of unreality. Now Oscar and
Hannah had fixed their relationship and been together again, and Manuel and Susan had been as
great as they always were, while he was still alone. Perhaps he was doomed to be single for the rest of
his life.
With his eyes closed Theodore gradually fell asleep, forcing himself to disconnect his mind while he
couldn't help thinking of someone who kept haunting his reverie.
The night went on, there was some noise sounding from inside the room. Theodore was woken up by
the sound. His extraordinary alertness made him instantly open his eyes. At that moment, he saw a
beautiful figure. The lights were dim in the room, but he could recognize her face. However, he thought
he was just dreaming of the woman whom he hadn't seen for three years. Therefore, he closed his
eyes again, getting himself back to sleep.
"Theodore," Little Bunny's voice sounded in his ear.
He was so familiar with her voice but he told himself it was an illusion. Never did he want to be
intoxicated by this kind of dream. He could only restrain himself in front of her in the future, avoiding
disturbing her.
"Theodore?" Little Bunny called his name again. She didn't know why he didn't respond since he was
already awake.
"Why do you act so recklessly in my dreams?" Theodore complained.
Little Bunny laughed with tears lingering in her eyes. She walked over to Theodore's bed and leaned
over him, grabbing his hand and biting down on it hard.
"Ouch!" Theodore cried out, but he couldn't bring himself to push her away. He just stared at her with
wide eyes as she smiled at him tenderly and said, "Theodore, this isn't a dream."
His heart began racing faster and faster until it felt like it might burst from his chest. His breathing
became shallow and rapid as he struggled to keep calm and not lose control of himself or embrace
Little Bunny tightly.
"What are you doing here?"
"Waiting for you." Little Bunny laughed and added, "I've been waiting for you."
"I don't need your gratitude for everything I've done..."
Before he could finish speaking, Little Bunny kissed him deeply on the lips. Theodore froze completely
still like a statue. Then she said softly, "Theodore, I love you."
His heart trembled within his chest as she spoke each word slowly with a deep emotion behind them,
"I'm waiting for you because I love you. I love you so much."
Tears flowed down her cheeks as she gazed lovingly into Theodore.
"I saw you on the screen today." He said with suppressed emotions. "You and Addison are a good
match."
"Did you see the end?" asked she.
Theodore appeared somewhat puzzled.
"Dummy," Little Bunny couldn't help but blurt out. She knew Theodore was released from prison today.
But she couldn't wait for him at home because of the award ceremony. So she prepared all the things
he needed for his release from prison, asked the housekeeping to cook his favourite dishes for him,
and then confessed to him at the award ceremony in front of the people of the whole country. No matter
whether Theodore would see it or not, she just wanted him to know that she loved him. He was the only
one she loved.
"At last, there is someone, in particular, I want to thank, someone the most important in my life,
someone I miss so much. Today is his day to go home, and I regret not being able to wait for him at
home, give him a warm hug in the first place, and tell him that I've been waiting for him all along. I don't
know if he has seen me in front of the TV at the moment, but I want to tell you in this way, that I love
you, very very much." She repeated the last sentence that Theodore had not heard.
Tears welled up in Theodore's eyes. He hugged Little Bunny tight.
"Little Bunny, even if..."
Even if you're lying to me, even if you're just pitying me.
"I won't let go anymore." With that said, he squeezed Little Bunny in his arms as if the two of them
would become one flesh.
Little Bunny also wrapped her arms around him. It was a long-awaited embrace, a sense of security
she had never felt before. Fortunately, neither of them gave up in the end.
"I love you, Little Bunny."
"I love you too, Theodore."
