After Divorcing my Captain Husband (Chloe and Michael)

Divorcing 495

Chapter 495 She's Going to Die

In any case, she wasn't going to get the fifty million; from the beginning, Michael never intended to give it to her.

Now, with an additional kidnapping charge, she might as well let these two die and not have all her efforts be in vain.

As she finished speaking, she forcefully poured out the oil from the canister in her hand and then lit the match, causing flames to burst forth instantly. Maya dashed out of the door, leaving Chloe and Michael inside.

Chloe wasn't particularly afraid of fire, but with flames surrounding her now, she couldn't help but feel terrified.

The thought of possibly dying here brought a flood of complex emotions to her heart.

She looked at Michael and, after a moment of thought, said, "You should leave quickly."

Michael stood by her side and bent down to untie the ropes binding her.

Seeing that he had no intention of leaving, Chloe felt anxious.

The past three years were what Michael owed her, and if he ended up dying here with her, would he say that their past grudges were written off in the afterlife?

But she didn't want that!

She didn't want those three years of torment and humiliation to be written off so easily.

Her emotions became agitated, and she shouted, "Michael, I told you to leave! I don't need you to save me!"

Michael frowned, but fortunately, the ropes weren't tied in a dead knot.

"Don't act rashly. Let's figure out how to get out of here first!"

He managed to stay calm, making Chloe feel like she was the one losing control of her emotions.

Sitting on the chair, she decided not to speak anymore.

The fire was growing stronger, and this being a wooden house, it was practically impossible to put out the flames now.

Once the ropes were untied, Chloe could stand up, but she still couldn't leave the room because her hand was cuffed to the radiator.

Although this room had long been abandoned, the radiator was still made of iron.

Michael tried pulling forcefully a few times, but the handcuffs and the radiator remained intact.

Even though he had managed to stay calm earlier, he was now starting to feel nervous and frantic.

Seeing him sweating due to the

rising temperature, Chloe also felt a surge of anxiety. "Michael! I told you to leave! Didn't you hear me? Don't worry about me, okay? I don't want you to!"

If she had to die here today, she didn't want Michael to die with her.

If they had to walk the path to the afterlife together, she would feel like she had the worst luck ever. All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.

Michael pressed his lips together and said nothing, his gaze moving back and forth between the radiator and her handcuffs.

"I'm going to kick the radiator hard in

a moment. It might hurt your hand a bit, so bear with it," he said, his voice calm and tinged with an inexplicable gentleness.

Chloe felt like there was a lump of cotton in her heart. "I just..."

"There's no time left. Save whatever you want to say for when we get out."

Not giving her a chance to continue speaking, he took a deep breath and kicked the spot where the radiator and the wooden house wereo connected.

One kick didn't change anything.

He then kicked several more times until the connection finally showed signs of loosening.

He smiled, wanting to show Chloe that they could get out safely, but before he could speak, a sound came from the roof beam.

His expression changed drastically, and he immediately pulled Chloe in front of him, holding her tightly in his arms.

The burning beam fell straight down, landing right next to where Chloe had been standing.

The fire burned even more fiercely.

The scare from earlier caused Chloe's emotions to start to collapse.

"Michael, leave! Leave me alone! Or you'll die here with me!"

"No!"

Michael rejected Chloe's suggestion without a second thought.

He had Chloe stand behind him, then kicked the radiator again.

Meanwhile, after setting the wooden house on fire, Maya ran out frantically, trying to find her way out.

She didn't get far before being caught by the police who had come in from outside.

She struggled to escape but had no way out.

When the handcuffs were snapped onto her wrists, she suddenly burst into laughter.

"You can't save Chloe! She's going to die! She's going to die in that cabin!"
