After Divorcing my Captain Husband (Chloe and Michael)

Divorcing 383

Chapter 383 Helping Her Dry Her Hair

"Mr. Dale, it seems you've become much more talkative and gossipy since you left Mythica."

Chloe glared at him.

The first time she met him, he wore sunglasses and had a "don't mess with me" attitude, barely speaking a word.

She couldn't understand how he changed so much after returning to the country.

James scoffed lightly, "Accompany me to an event next week."

"I'm in the cybersecurity department, not your secretary, and certainly not in the foreign affairs department."

Given her previous experiences attending events with him, Chloe had no interest in participating in any more of them.

"Aren't you Jioleek? I can introduce you to a new business opportunity there. How about it?"

Chloe narrowed her eyes.

"Though it's not on the scale of Smith's international deals, the commission is decent. Think about it?"

Chloe pursed her lips but didn't say anything. She figured she might as well consider it.

After James settled down, Chloe was able to leave work at a normal hour.

She drove back to Lotus Manor.

As soon as she pulled into the garage, Tom approached. "Mrs. Shawn, could you hand me the keys? Mr. Shawn wants to service all the cars today." Chloe didn't suspect anything and handed over the keys before heading upstairs.

Rosie saw her return and instructed the kitchen to start preparing dinner.

Since Emma usually handled her belongings and Chloe knew Rosie didn't cook, she headed upstairs to take a shower.

When she came back downstairs, she saw Rosie holding a spatula and cooking something.

She was somewhat surprised.

At that moment, Michael also emerged from the study and said to her, "Why didn't you dry your hair?"

"I'm about to."

Michael followed her back upstairs and picked up the hair dryer himself.

Chloe looked at him, puzzled. "What are you doing?"

"Helping you dry your hair."

He answered so naturally that Chloe briefly doubted if she was overreacting.

However, in their three years of marriage, he had never once helped her dry her hair.

When she tried to take the hair dryer from him, he didn't let go.

She decided to sit at the vanity and see what he was up to.

Michael had never dried a woman's hair before.

Even though Chloe's hair was well-maintained, smooth, and shiny, he found it challenging.

Chloe watched as her hair became a tangled mess in front of her eyes. Originally tangle-free, it was now knotted up thanks to his efforts, leaving her speechless.

If she had done it herself, it would have taken ten minutes.

With Michael, it took twice as long.

When he finally finished, her hair was frizzy.

As the hair dryer stopped, Chloe turned to him. "Do you think I look good like this?"

She looked like a lion!

Michael felt a bit guilty but still lied through his teeth. "You look good no matter what." Chloe felt helpless.

"If you're not good at something, don't do it again."

She picked up a brush from the table, added some hair oil, and began to untangle her hair.

Michael stood behind her, looking a bit dejected. All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.

He thought drying hair looked simple but found it surprisingly difficult.

He figured he should practice more.

They both went downstairs, dressed in matching pajamas.

Just then, Rosie came out of the kitchen with a pot of soup.

"Rosie, I thought you didn't cook?"

Chloe casually asked as she sat down.

"Mr. Shawn's dinner is a bit complicated. I was worried the kitchen staff might not handle it properly." Initially, Chloe didn't think much of it, just small talk, but after hearing her reply, she glanced at her more. Although Emma was in her forties or fifties, she had previously undergone specialized culinary training. Moreover, the kitchen wasn't staffed by her alone. There were several five-star chefs.

Chloe couldn't understand how Rosie could be so confident that they wouldn't get the cooking right.

"Mrs. Shawn, I don't know either. Rosie just said she wanted to cook personally."

Emma didn't explicitly point it out, but everyone understood the implication.

The soup Rosie brought out was nothing more than a simple miso soup.

It didn't require any special handling.

"Emma, you..."

Rosie caught the mocking tone in Emma's words and wanted to retort, but Michael interrupted her.

"From now on, Emma and the others will handle all the meals. I'm used to their cooking."

Rosie's face immediately darkened.
