Chapter 100: Why Do You Eat Differently from Me?
Rex looked Wendy up and down, and Wendy swallowed hard. “Is he going to ask questions on the spot?”
“What is the hardness of diamond?”
She knew it!
“Uh… uh… uh… no… I don’t know.”
Rex frowned and said coldly, “Get out.”
“Huh?” Wendy had not expected him to be so decisive. Although she was unwilling, she still took small steps. As soon as she opened the door, she heard a cold voice again, “Bring the documents here.”
Wendy glanced at him and smiled brightly, “Okay!”
She moved the documents in and sat at a table some distance away from the bed. When she looked up, she could see Rex. His breathing was steady and his face was calm. He had already fallen asleep. She held her cheek with one hand and whispered, “He is so amiable when he is asleep.”
Wendy stared at Rex for a while, shook her head, and focused on reading. Time passed by, and it was almost midnight. She yawned, stretched herself, and fell asleep on the table.
After some time, her phone suddenly rang. She slammed her phone on the table and continued to sleep.
Her phone kept ringing. Rex frowned and let out a deep sigh. When he sat up, his expression was terrifyingly dark. He got out of bed and glanced at the magazine that Wendy had pushed to the floor. He immediately pressed a button on the wall, and the sound of the alarm echoed throughout the room.
Wendy instantly came to her senses and abruptly sat up. She saw Rex looking down at the dazed Wendy from above. Because it was early in the morning, his voice was a little hoarse as he said, “Prepare the documents immediately and then go out.”
Wendy blinked and her neck felt a little sore. Perhaps it was because she was sleeping on the table, but her head felt a little dizzy. Her eyes were blurry and she glanced at the magazine under the table, only then did she realize that Rex was angry.
She quickly tidied up the books. As soon as she stood up, she lost her balance and fell aside. The books were scattered all over the floor. She rubbed her numb feet. Rex said coldly, “How stupid you are .”
He picked up the phone that Wendy had dropped on the floor and handed it to her. “Go out and call me back. I’ll deal with these books.”
Wendy slowly stretched out her hand, took the phone, held it in her arms, slowly stood up, and walked out.
Rex squatted down and tidied up the books on the floor and placed them neatly by the table. Then, he walked into the bathroom. When he came out again, he was already dressed in a clean outfit. He took out a casual sweater from the wardrobe and put it on, then slowly walked out of the room.
Rex held two bowls of porridge and placed one in front of Wendy. Wendy looked up at him, who was sitting opposite her, and said, “Thank you.”
He pushed the other bowl of porridge in front of her and said, “Eat this as well.”
“I can’t.”
“Don’t forget that you are not alone now.”
Rex doesn’t want to eat and throw it at her.
Wendy pursed her lips and complained in her heart.
She looked up at Rex, only to see a poached egg, a sandwich, and a cup of hot milk in front of him. Wendy then looked at the porridge in front of her, which was very bland. She immediately felt uncomfortable in her heart.
“Why do you eat differently from me?” Wendy muttered in a very soft voice, extremely dissatisfied.
Rex could hear it. Even though Wendy’s voice was low, he could still hear her complaints. He took a sip of the milk and asked, “Do you want to drink?”
Wendy swallowed her saliva. Just as she was about to nod her head, Rex picked up the glass and drank all the milk. Then he waved the glass in front of her and said proudly, “Clare has a cow farm at home. If you want to drink it, you can make it yourself. I’ll give you the address.”
Wendy knew that he was joking. She lowered her head and quickly finished two bowls of porridge. Then, she took out a piece of paper to wipe her mouth and put her schoolbag on her back. “I have to go back.”
Rex put down the sandwich and wiped his hands slowly. He threw the car keys to Wendy and said, “Wait for me outside.”
Wendy was stunned for a few seconds, and Rex could only repeat the meaning of his words. “What? Do you want to take the bus to the company?”
Wendy hurriedly waved her hand and said, “No, no, no.”
Rex’s face grew grim again. No one was allowed to challenge his authority.
She had no choice but to take the keys from his hand and mention it by the way. “I’ll talk to Daisy about work today. Don’t worry, I’ll let her follow the process.”
“Alright.” Rex gave a simple reply, then raised his head. “Why aren’t you out yet?”
Wendy gritted her teeth and let out a stifled sigh in her heart.
For the sake of Daisy’s job, she had put up with it for the past few days.
“Okay, hurry up and come out after eating. We still have a meeting today.”
After that, Wendy swiftly left, not willing to stay a second longer in front of him.
It was not easy for her to make it to the company. Rex had given her a bunch of tasks, and she was so busy that she didn’t even have time to make a phone call.
While Rex was in the middle of a meeting, she called Daisy in a hurry.
Although the two of them had just quarreled, she knew Daisy very well. Her anger came quickly and disappeared quickly. Everything would be fine after a little coaxing.
As expected, the call was soon picked up.
“Hello?” The voice sounded very tired. She must have just woken up. As long as she did not go to the bar, it was good.NôvelDrama.Org is the owner.
Wendy coughed and said, “Hello, Daisy, I’m Wendy.”
Daisy sighed and scratched her head. “I know it’s you.”
“Today…”Wendy thought for a moment and went straight to the point. “Daisy, Rex has agreed to let you work for the Glory Group. Don’t worry, I… I don’t mean that. Don’t you know what kind of person I am? It may be tiring at the beginning of work here, but the salary is fine.”
Daisy lowered her head and did not feel sleepy at all. “Wendy, I’m sorry. It’s my fault. I shouldn’t have lost my temper at you that day. It’s my fault.”
Wendy didn’t seem to mind at all and said, “It’s fine, what do you think…”
Daisy didn’t want to let down Wendy’s kindness. Moreover, she lacked money recently, so she said, “Well, I’ll go and have a look in the afternoon.”
“Okay, call me when you arrive and I’ll pick you up. By the way, prepare a resume. You still have to go through the procedures.”
“Yes, I understand,” said Daisy.
The door was suddenly opened from the outside, and Wendy was shocked. She whispered, “Daisy, I have something to do, so I’ll hang up first. See you in the afternoon.”
“Okay, goodbye.”
“Goodbye!”
