A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 956: The News

“I’ll contact the police immediately and focus the search on this area.”

Brendon was highly efficient. He quickly gave out instructions and then found Caleb. “Get in touch with port management. Find out how many ships have docked and departed since last night, and where they went.”

“If any ships have left, stop them at all costs.”

Hearing this, Ranita’s heart tightened. What if Addyson had taken Ayaan and left by boat? How would they find them? If they were still in the country, it would be easier, but some ships at the harbor were bound for international destinations. Finding a child in such vastness would be like searching for a needle in a haystack.

“Brendon… let’s go take a look ourselves!” Ranita couldn’t bear staying idle any longer. She needed to do something, anything, rather than just sit there.

“Alright! I’ll take you to the harbor.” Brendon, worried she might break down, personally drove her to the port.

The wind at the port was strong, with containers and vehicles everywhere. Various ships were docked at the harbor. Cargo ships and passenger ships were docked in separate areas.

Caleb was efficient. By the time Brendon arrived at the port, he had already sent over the information. Brendon quickly scanned through it.

“Among the ships that left last night, all docked at domestic ports, with two-thirds going to Strashire. I’ll send people there to keep watch. If Addyson is on one of them, she won’t get away!”

“Of the remaining ships, three are headed across the Pacific Ocean, and two are bound for Sreah.”

“Based on departure times, only the two ships bound for Sreah left this morning. Fortunately, Caleb managed to stop them.”

At that moment, in a cluttered storage room in the lower deck of a massive cargo ship.

The conditions in the lower deck were poor, with bad air circulation and strange smells everywhere.Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.

Addyson paced anxiously. Seeing no movement from the ship, she angrily approached a dark-skinned middle-aged man.

The man, Gideon, had typical Sreah features and was a minor supervisor on the ship.

“Hey, baby… what are you doing here? Didn’t I tell you to stay below?” Gideon spoke in broken Chinese but was understandable. He reached out and grabbed Addyson’s buttocks with a lecherous look in his eyes.

Addyson felt disgusted but had already slept with Gideon to secure passage on the ship. With their departure still uncertain, she dared not show her anger.

Suppressing her revulsion, Addyson wrapped her arms around Gideon’s neck and rubbed against him, asking sweetly, “I just wanted to ask, didn’t you say we’d leave before seven? It’s been twenty minutes past that now.”

Gideon, unable to resist a young woman’s charm, quickly spilled the beans. “I’m frustrated too, but the captain said there’s some paperwork that hasn’t been completed yet. We can’t leave just yet.”

“We’ve made many trips before and encountered this situation. It won’t take too long; don’t worry!”

Gideon then leaned closer to Addyson’s neck. “Since we have time, why don’t we…”

Disgust flashed in Addyson’s eyes.

“Oh no, there’s a child in my bed! You don’t want to set a bad example,” she said, trying to excuse herself. But Gideon, growing impatient, groped her chest. “We can go to the changing room; no one will be there…”
