Chapter 30 - He Wanted It
Chapter 30 - He Wanted It
“Do you like this design?”
Lin Wen Xin’s question interrupted his thoughts and instantaneously pulled him back to reality.
“Mmm”. Wang Shen Ze casually responded with the intention of clearing his dry throat and to also ease the awkwardness between them.
But...
Lin Wen Xin got really excited after she heard it!
She happily took that response as a ‘yes’ and asked the manager to pack the item up for her.
Since Wang Shen Ze is extremely picky about what he wears, it is very challenging to find something that suits his taste.
To think that she was actually able to find one for him so easily, Lin Wen Xin really wanted to give herself a huge pat on the shoulder!
She looked at him with a delighted smile as she innocently believed that he was indirectly affirming her good sense of fashion.
So of course she would feel proud of herself!
I mean, who wouldn’t be??...
Meanwhile, Wang Shen Ze was completely lost for words and could only helplessly stare at her as she proceeded to make the payment.
He questioned himself in disbelief, “Is she seriously buying that?”
It seems like there was some error in their communication??
Wang Shen Ze then recalled the design that she picked and unwillingly consoled himself, “It’s still not too bad. At least it’s not an eyesore!”
He then saw Lin Wen Xin walking towards him with the branded paper bag.
Now what should he do? And what should he say to her?
Wang Shen Ze wanted to make it seem like he is doing her a favour by accepting this gift.
This high and mighty person had decided to be slightly nicer to her today!
But who would have thought!...
Lin Wen Xin simply brushed her shoulder lightly against his, and casually walked away.
Wang Shen Ze frowned as he could not believe what had just happened.
Did she just... walked past him??!!
Wasn’t the tie supposed to be for him?
Don’t tell me that she is planning to give the tie to someone else? Like Xiao Yu Zheng?!
“President Wang, are you not leaving yet?” Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.
Lin Wen Xin asked because she suddenly realised that he was not beside her.
Wang Shen Ze clenched his fist and was filled with rage.
This was also the time when he realised that, “Though it was not a gift that he liked a lot, it was a gift that he wanted a lot!”
Wang Shen Ze gave a cold shoulder to Lin Wen Xin throughout the entire car ride.
She could not understand what was going on and what had caused him to have such a drastic change of mood.
Wasn’t he still fine earlier??
Hais... this man is really difficult to understand!
Lin Wen Xin did not dare to provoke him further and simply sat in the car quietly as it brought them home.
Wang Shen Ze stomped straight into the house and stayed in the study room for the entire day.
He did not even come down for dinner!
And obviously Lin Wen Xin could not bear to let him go to bed with an empty stomach so she brought the food up for him.
Just as she stood in front of the door that had been left slightly ajar, she heard a sweet voice from the inside. “Shen... I miss you a lot...”
Lin Wen Xin’s hands trembled a little as she paused for a moment and held on tightly to the tray.
Even though she felt a dull pain when she heard that, it brought her back to reality that Hong Xin Rui is now his new lover while she is just... a nobody.
She has no choice but to accept this fate of hers.
Lin Wen Xin then made the decision to leave the tray on the floor, just beside the door. She did not want to be rude and interrupt their time together.
Lin Wen Xin thoughtfully adjusted the things on the tray again with great care since she knew that Wang Shen Ze liked his things to be neat and tidy.
After double checking that everything is in place, she left quietly and headed down dejectedly.
But she wasn’t aware that throughout the entire time, a pair of eyes had actually been witnessing her every move from the dark corner.
Wang Shen Ze walked towards the study room and stared at the tray that was at his feet.
He then glanced into the study room and saw Hong Xin Rui rehearsing some romantic lines that were meant for him.
There is a small storage room at the end of the corridor and Wang Shen Ze had went there earlier to pick up some old documents.
If not for this, he would never have known that Lin Wen Xin was actually the one who had been personally bringing up the meals and milk for him all these while.
Wang Shen Ze then walked away and followed after Lin Wen Xin.
Lin Wen Xin originally wanted to go back to her bedroom to start on her fashion drafts for DT Holdings’ commercial advertisement project as she was already way behind the deadlines due to her hospitalisation.
However, because of what had happened earlier, she was no longer in the mood to do the drafts.
All she really wanted right now is to take a breather.
Lin Wen Xin walked towards the garden at the back and strolled out to the private beach.
This is the first time that she had been out to this part of the villa.
Even though she could barely see the scenery in the night, the experience was extremely therapeutic for her as she felt the breeze and the sound of crashing waves.
It has been awhile since she last visited a beach. It was previously inconvenient for her to get there from the Lin’s Residence.
She had always dreamt of winding down after a long day at the beach with her love one.
This was her ideal type of romantic date night and she had been looking forward to it for a very long time!
It could be said that her dream is now fulfilled, except that she is all alone.
Lin Wen Xin sat down on the sandy beach as her tears uncontrollably streamed down her beautiful cheeks.
Since there was no one else here, she was able to freely release her emotions.
Why has life been so unfair to her??
All she wanted was to just happily marry the one she love and start a small family together.
Such a simple dream but yet so difficult for her to achieve...
Lin Wen Xin bawled her eyes out till she became too tired and eventually fell asleep on the beach.
...
The next morning, Lin Wen Xin stretched out her arms as she slowly opened her eyes.
She looked to her left... then to her right...
Lin Wen Xin gasped in surprise, “Wasn’t I at the beach last night?!”
