Master of his heart (Brielle and Max)

Chapter 902

At Dorsey International, the recent shake-up had triggered a wave of resignations, including many key executives who were the backbone of the company.

These execs had been loyal to Max for years, holding him in high regard, and they knew William's tactics all too well. If William had any real talent, he wouldn't have gone so long without making a mark. Now, with him at the helm, anyone not in his camp was bound to get sidelined.

Seeing the writing on the wall, those in the know quickly handed in their resignations and started job hunting. The initial trickle of resignations soon turned into a flood. At first, William was pleased to see Max's loyalists leave-they'd never fully back him anyway. But as the numbers swelled into the dozens, he felt things spiraling out of control.

With so many key roles suddenly vacant, Dorsey International plunged into chaos. Desperate for stability, William reluctantly called Patrick, hoping to persuade him to stay.

Patrick was at the Premier Palace, sitting with Max and discussing Brielle's condition with her doctor, when his phone buzzed. Max seemed uninterested in anything outside Brielle's pregnancy issue.

Patrick raised an eyebrow at the caller ID. "Mr. Ryan."

"Patrick, why don't you come over to Dorsey International? I'll offer you ten times your current salary. You've been with the company for years; you must be attached to it. Max is about to be jailed, and sticking with him will only drag you down."

Patrick chuckled at William's pitch. Without a second thought, he blocked the number and relayed the conversation to Max.

Max, sipping his coffee, showed no reaction and turned back to the doctor. "We've talked, and Brielle won't agree. Is there no other way?"

The middle-aged doctor, who had examined Brielle, looked troubled. "Max, I know you're worried about Ms. Brielle, but other than doing the surgery while she's unconscious, I'm at a loss. Maybe I could contact some international colleagues skilled in hypnosis, but it's risky. Simple hypnosis won't work on someone who's been through as much as Ms. Brielle; it would require deep hypnosis. Even my friend wouldn't dare attempt that lightly-it could trigger other traumatic memories."

The doctor's brow furrowed deeply. "Unless, Max, you're absolutely certain Ms. Brielle's past holds no breaking memories."Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.

Max fell silent, knowing he couldn't be sure. Brielle had once forgotten the orphanage fire, only remembering when she returned and saw the bodies. Her brain had initiated a self-defense mechanism to block out the traumatic event. With her past shrouded by those who had been manipulating her, Max was hesitant to confirm anything to the doctor.

Understanding his concerns, and with the situation outside escalating, the doctor sighed. Max's single-minded concern for Brielle's well-being was evident, even as he sought a way to end the pregnancy without harming her. "Max, maybe you should focus on sorting out the Dorsey family mess first."

Max rubbed his temples, feeling a sharp pain in his head. "Patrick."

Patrick, who had been standing nearby, quickly approached. "Please escort the doctor out."

After Patrick had seen the doctor out and returned, he heard Max's next instruction: "Start preparing to take over Dorsey International, and give Wall Street a heads up."

In Beaconsfield, whispers circulated

about the true extent of Max's

empire. No one knew exactly how many assets he held; his Wall Street wealth was a mystery. Perhaps losing Dorsey International was just a minor setback to him.

Patrick had often noticed Max's detachment from Dorsey

International, treating it more like a mission than a passion. Now, Max was ready to leverage his Wall Street connections to acquire Dorsey International, likely to quell the online uproar.

But above all, it was a move to get back at Michael.
